As a few people pointed out the Horror axe is very good as well. So good it should probably replace the Savage axe for number 3 on this list. I mentioned the savage because its favorable wind enchant is unique and pretty powerful. Unfortunatly and enchant doesn't always make a weapon better than others even if we want it to. So consider horror axe as well because it looks cool and extreme poison is always great to have on your side.

White Kintsugi set and sunfall axe with the fabulous palladium shield all compliment each other and are giant made/ related since the shield is found in the old giant ruins, kinda neat

White Kintsugi and sunfall axe feel made for each other. The combination is great and looks like a pallidum for the giants. Fabulous palladium is just amazing. You can never go wrong with that.

Cant believe you didnt even mention Horror Axe, extreme poison in 1 combo is very strong and pairs great with Obsidian Pistol to get both dot effects quickly on a tough enemy. Talus Cleaver for slow/pain and you can just run away and let them die slowly. This can be acquired very early into the game and can get you through faction storyline quests even without breakthrough skills.

Ya it kind of slipped my mind when I was editing. I was going to at least mention it. Very good option. Honestly most horror weapons are top tier. They are probably the number 2 or 3 best weapon type over all just because of their usefulness.

Both statements are 100% true. I have played most RPGs since Zelda back in the day but this is the only one I can recall where "Get your skills" is the real goal. It wasn't untill my 4th character that it "clicked". But now, yeah I am hooked.

1H axes are my favorite because the power attack (3 hits) is pretty much op. I'm playing a pistol 1h axe character that I started yesterday, and currently using horror axe with cannon pistol (loaded with iron for pain and confusion). Sunfall axe is great, but for Endgame i'm planning on Tsar axe with raw damage for the high dmg + durability, paired with cage pistol + cannon for obviously weaken, sapped, pain and confusion. I only play Hardcore, these debuffs are great

The three hit combo of the axe is by far its greatest strength. It deals high impact and very quick damage. Great for inflicting statuses and destroying enemies. I like the set up you have for hardcore. Looks pretty strong. I applaud you for going hardcore. I get annoyed after dying once and getting destroyed. Usually when I get overconfident 😅

I just realized that every dagger build I saw used this complicated flowchart with the cannon pistol and brutal mace when the axe can just inflict the two statuses you need with one button LMAO

Funny you noticed this. I actually don't like the one handed tsar axe. I think its the worst tsar weapon. Mostly because axes are focused at being very aggressive. I found the weapon very hard to use when being aggressive takes forever. In the right hands its still good, I mean all tsar weapons can be made to work well. But using those combo attacks which such slow speed killed my interest immediately lol.

Rouge Engineer Wild Hunter Warrior Monk Sort of a high stamina and physical damage build. The slayer set is for more damage and its hard to get but nice once you have it. Then the shield is the fabulous palladium shield because its my favorite one making you deal more damage with a varnish.

I don't actually like that weapon unfortunanlty. The axes main skill already inflicts pain so it feels pretty useless in that department. it has good physical damage, but this boss weapon in particular feels very underwhelming. I wish they gave it confusion and pain as an affliction. Would have been my number one axe then.

I honestly think the Butcher Cleaver gets slept on hard. I tried it out with Krypteia Mask (Aegis), Runic Armour (Chaos and Creativity) and Tenebrous Boots (Flux). Went Holy Mission for spiritual communion and sanctified protection. 2 points in mana for the boons, maybe 3. I cant quite remember off the top of my head what breakthroughs since its been some time since i played that character but i do remember having a ton of fun. You should try it sometime

Sand rose 100% deserved a spot on this list. Its basically tied for highest impact damage on an axe, it’s only beaten in damage by the tsar axe, and it has a 1.0 swing speed. It can apply blaze too if that’s your thing. Also horror axe > savage axe any day of the week. Extreme bleeding is already barely worth considering. Horror axe got the better dot, damage, and impact, and is only .1 lower speed. Given the axe has basically 0 utility outside of being the highest damage 1 handed weapon, I wouldn’t really consider DOTs anyways, since they’re best used in a tank build that can just spam the special attack all day. The 1.3x damage multiplier allows you to rock whatever tank set you want while still benefiting from whatever damage bonuses that other sets would’ve offered. Big axe fan here. I love how universally banger the axe is. You effortlessly get a 1.6x multiplier on all of your damage with just boons. Rock your favorite tank set, Use talus cleaver and your choice of elemental vulnerability and you’re almost doubling all of your damage while still being able to wear armors that make you near immune to damage. Other weapons work in these setups, but they just lack the same damage and impact the axe can put out. Now all that praise sung, I’d really only use an axe in a full on face tank setup, which I almost never do 😔. Why resist damage when I can just get overconfident and die?

I will admit horror axe probably should replace savage axe. I was just very excited to show off that favorable wind enchant but it still don't quite beat the horror. Sand rose just isn't good enough in terms of its secondary stats. The physical damage is great. But blaze on an aggressive weapon doesn't fit for me. And your right axes get in there and get dirty. They are almost the opposite of spear combat which makes going from one to the other feel very different.

Living axe is actually godly on a berserker build. 1.2 speed (fadtest axe and on pair with kazite enchanted cestus for ridiculous combo speed) and HALF the stamina cost of all axes. Bring 2 or 3 with you (no durability problem then) endow wind, slice and dice

Shaman for wind endow, hex mage for the regen with the kills and mercenary for speed and running stam, get zhorn pack, elite hood, luxury tent, high merchant boots. Hit and run or just combo away everything

Very low. You can essentially swing it all day without noticing a change in stamina. Compared to tsar is completely different.

I love the Livingwood Axe. It is as light as a hatchet, and can also be used for collecting wood, so it usually replaces my hatchet as soon as I find one. It's a great backup weapon if you use a lot of weapon arts or fairly fragile weapons. It's also, in my opinion, the best option for a 1-handed mage weapon due to its attack speed. You aren't going to need to melee often as a mage, but when you do the ability to get in quick and not be stuck in long animations is great.

They are generally good throughout the entire game. The horror spear is on my spear list, but I leave them off most of the time because they are supposed of be middle of the ground weapons. Although I should have included the horror axe in this one. I somehow forgot about it at the time.

Omg there is so many places the living wood axe now you did say loot containers so i will let you slide on this one but a dead body being called a loot container is kind of strange to me also you can get lucky sometimes and get it from the stash in Berg when you buy the house in Berg. can be looted from Marble axe is can also spawn in ornate chest in the Cabal of Wind Temple which idk about you but that is not a cave. I think you missed a lot of axes that should be on the list like for one Marble axe should be taken off i do not think it's as good as the Butcher Cleaver or Pain in the Axe. Mable axe really have nothing but that one enchantment going for and if we take enchantments as if this weapon is good or not, I would use Iron Axe with Unsuspected Strength before I would ever use marble axe. Plus, you also for about the Horror Axe i would replace the Tuanosaur Axe on the list with this one don't think I would have it at number 2 though. Just my opinion though every time i have made the Tuanosaur Axe by the time I have it and use it, it's just not as good as other axe's. The only 2 on the list I think that should stay is the living wood axe it has nice versatility and Sunfall is just the best one-handed axe in the game.

Ironically enough I don't like butcher cleaver or pain in the axe lol. They were not included specifically because I think they should be much better than they are. Butcher in particular feels pretty bad every time I use it. Pain in the axe is just not worth it because the skill applies pain anyway. Although the damage is good that's true. As far as the tuanosaur axe, it does feel odd. By the time you get it (killing a tough dino lol) you would have already been able to grab a few other axes. Love its impact that's for sure, but the progression in which you craft it does feel off. Can't argue with horror axe. Its a great option. Looks pretty cool as well.

@@SheenShots yeah I even changed my mind on pain in the axe though i guess i said that on discord to you not on the video lol but the butcher cleaver is high damage it is above the average damage of one-handed axes already and you can get armor that raises that the lightning damage even more and the holy mission passive that raise decay lightning and ethereal damage by 10% each I dont know i just think you might have to high of expectations for the butcher cleaver you would have to let me know why you think it should be stronger than 41.1 total damage and then if you use a varnish on it omg the damage is just even better plus let's not forget you can enchant it as well.

I think they are bad without a shield. Mostly because they have a small wind up time that often leads to you getting hit. But with shield charge for impact you deal really good damage in one combo attack. I still prefer swords, but the aggressive nature of the one handed axe is cool.

I am shocked and appalled by the lack of even a MENTION to the Butcher cleaver. While I do agree with the general sentiment of the video I simply do not see any reasoning it could not make it into the top five, let alone an honorable mention. It is true that in terms of general / casual gameplay this weapon is hardly used and is barely known about, but the potential of the Butcher's Cleaver is astonishing. It is a weapon that I always leave a slot for in my legacy's because simply just having it makes combat an absolute breeze. The damage types of the Cleaver are unique compared to basically every other weapon in the game because It covers two opposite elements, thus making it viable for every single fight in the game. Overlooking enchantments for it it is easily comparable to the number two in this list reaching in the ranges of 30 damage, but as I said earlier its unique combination of elements means that more often than not you will be DECIMATING many enemies because of the Decay / Lightning. Some might argue that it is difficult to get or they may complain about the same issues of the many axes that it is too short, however just like the living wood axe or the marble axe you are not really supposed to play at midrange with these types of weapons. Axes are fast and stunning, higher risk reward type of gameplay. This is where I think people get confused because some people say..... Well single elements are stronger, or it has no Damage over time. I've even heard someone say it was trying to do too many things...... which just does not really make sense. However back on track, I think simply put not enough people have ever actually used the damn thing. The Butcher Cleaver is MONSTROUSLY strong in close combat. Simply put, regardless of your playstyle, if an enemy gets close to you, in most situations where you can hit them more than just once, you are going to delete their health bar. Its not a joke, grab this weapon and try it in Caldera. IT IS LAUGHABLE, almost every enemy in the hardest area of the game is at least partially vulnerable to this thing, I have never had an easier playthrough in outward than when I mained the Butcher Cleaver. Keep in mind I am talking from my experience showing people this weapon even without varnishes, boons, sidearms, passives. SImply adding any of the above makes the butcher cleaver unstoppable. In my opinion it should at least make it to the 5th slot in here, I understand how useful Living wood is sometimes however I would still leave living wood where its it. The placement I would give the Butcher Cleaver in context of this video would be replacing the Savage axe..... I mean yes bleeding is incredibly strong, however you basically have the same axe in two spots back to back, the Tuanosaur axe is just objectively better than the Savage, therefore I would place the butchers in third here is my logic. Axes are incredibly strong and oftentimes hardly need any augmentation, However when you do add something i feel it is really important to look at how that addition would add to other weapons and i feel like these additions completely undermine your choice for third when you add in the butchers. First off, you mention that the Savage Axe gets an enchantment which adds 20% of the damage as ethereal, but that equates to around 5.6 ethereal which is only a tiny bit better than the enchantment that every weapon in the game has access too. We all know Molepig Sigh is insane but on the Butcher Cleaver, you are permanently adding A THIRD ELEMENT, that simply cannot be understated how strong that is. It simply garantees no matter what fight you go into you have at least one type advantage, often times two. Comparing the stats of the two items you also can clearly see that if you are adding ethereal, which is one of the only benefits other than the bleeding on the Savage axe. The damage and Impact are undermined by the Butcher Cleaver. Second and more importantly...... out of all the weapons here you add the Fabulous Palladium into the equation specifically for the Savage axe. Now I know you are using it in the other clips but It feels like you had to justify the addition of an axe that already debatably should be on the list with the BEST SHIELD in the entire game.... Back on the matter at hand..... Why would you specifically use it on this axe though, Hell even the 5th place slot gets a better bonus from the FPS than the savage does. Ok I think at this point you can guess what I'm going to bring up but if FPS adds damage for Elemental attacks then...... Oh My would you look at that.... A weApON WItH ThReE dIFERent ElEMenTal tyPEs..... its almost like you are increasing your damage on this axe by..... roughly at least (assuming they are immune to a type) 50%! that is the kind of bonus that makes outward players weep, and oh wait.... that's from an axe tied for second place with impact and damage AND has super high base speed. I feel I have made a good case here but in case you still have doubts, a suggestion for all you lovely people who have read all of this angry internet rant. Butcher Cleaver + Fire varnish(or other) + Jinx + FPS + Boons. This is a simple guide to prove how much Butcher Cleaver deserves to be on this list, You don't even need all four of those things to prove it but that is all that is required of this weapon to take it far beyond the point of doubt in my mind. Try it out. TLDR: Butcher Cleaver deserves to be on this list. Sheen wrong - Jamie Right Peace out beautiful people
