I've been going to a new church since my wife and son died during the plandemic, and about a year ago, I had to ask a couple of the elders at the church regarding my own carry and two pulled out their concealed carry weapons and pointed to the others at the back of the church to say "we all carry". I think it wise to also limit exposure and reduce the need to ever need to use a gun. I ran across some good advice a while back and pretty much live by this. "Don't do stupid things, in stupid places, at stupid times with stupid people. You reduce your risk factor exponentially by following this advice. Example: getting cash late at night/early morning or going to a 7-11 in the wee hours of the morning. Plan ahead.

A little rule of thumb in the wilderness: If you are in deep, untouched wilderness and you come across another human, assume the worst. MOST of the time, out in the wilderness, you will HEAR other people before you see them. Also, most hikers and hunters know to avoid other humans for fear of startling them or, at the very least, make your presence known. So, if you are surprised by another human, assume it is someone with bad intentions with a reason to be hidden away from society. When it comes to the animals in the wild, they are not usually interested in messing with people as we are strange, unknown creatures in their environment and they do not want to risk the encounter. The exception to this is when cub/pups/ their babies are involved.

My wife and I moved to Montana from Washington DC area back in 2002. Our kids with families of their own, live in Reno, NV. Never regretted one bit moving. We never enter Blue states anymore. Never visit Canada anymore. Stay away from all big American cities. By truck, we go to about six states and forget the others. When we fly to Europe and Alaska, never leave the intermediate airport. This once great nation is in big trouble nowadays and headed down the toilet and fast.
@griffith057

Sounds like you are paralyzed by fear, Walt. Too bad - you are missing many fine places to visit. Did you know that the entire South is far more dangerous than New York City or Boston, for example? According to CDC, Alabama’s homicide rate of 13.9 deaths per 100,000 people is about 2.5 times as high as New York City. Ditto Mississippi and Louisiana. Have a look at the CDC map of murder rates by state - the Northeastern states are among the safest, statistically. The poster of this video has made many unsupported assertions. A link to some hard data is provided below. ** www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/homicide_mortality/homicide.htm

The is true about gas station convience store places. I gassed up one night on Christmas Eve and had tucked at J frame 38 Spc in my pants as it was late. A crazy acting man in a Santa hat approached me from a side street as I finished fueling; as my hands were tied up with returning the nozzle, etc., he rushed over towards me; I quickly unzipped my jacket, and I don't know if any light reflected off the nickel plating, of that revolver but he pulled up and strolled away. This revolver is stashed in a downstairs location that my wife and daughter know about, and is the gun that travels with either of them on their independent car trips. This gun has added to our security for over 30 years and counting.

Good call on the movie theaters. I stopped going to the biggest and newest movie complex in my area because the last three times I went to movies there fights broke out among the audience, mostly due to some people (the usual ignorant suspects) talking loudly throughout the entire movie. Several gun and knife fights have broken out in that parking lot. Now I go to much smaller, older theaters in areas with a better clientele. Also, I never go into the woods without a gun. The last military base we visited was after 9/11. This presented a problem as civilians may not have firearms, ammo, or edged weapons at all on military bases. I brought three heavy duty dip lock bags, some silica gel packets, and a folding shovel. Intent was to cache my handgun and ammo in an unseen location, go into the base, then recover my weapon after departing the base. Be nice if they don't want civilians to be armed, they'd provide weapons lockers for visitors to secure them in.

I agree with you 100%. One never knows what one will encounter when you least expect it. A walking train in a small town went by a college and follow a small creek for about a mile of it's 5 mile length that I walked on quite often. One day while walking near the wooded creek, I found myself being stalked by a Black Bear, and I was not armed. I manage to avoid being attacked as I fled the area. That taught me right there that danger can come upon you at any time in any place; This developed location was 10 miles from the Forests where bears lived.

@@hotrodray6802 No its not. That was a rumor started by trucking company safety officers and trucking company top brass to scare the drivers to not carry. However there are companies that prohibit weapons in their vehicles. And there are States that "regulate" how weapons are carried in vehicles. And then there is New Jersey where anyone that says the word gun will find themselves facing the death penalty UNCONSTITUTIONALY I might ad. But there are no federal regulations prohibiting carry in commercial vehicles.

I live in Colorado and have seen mountain lion and black bears, moose...I'm not worried about them nearly as much as other people. I have had drunk people walk into my campsite and were harmless enough, but I've also run into a couple of people over the years that were unsavory enough that I knew I didn't want to be around them. This is only getting worse as Colorado gets more and more crowded. When that happens the county sheriff or the forest ranger are a long long ways away.

I'm in Illinois. Here, the "no guns" signs have legal standing. Sometimes, I ignore them (especially when they're posted in ways that don't meet the "conspicuously posted" test), but I'm always concerned about the. Potential for legal consequences. On the other hand, history has proven that the best way to put a target on a location is to declare it a "No gun zone!"

Illinois resident too. I practice a strategy of avoiding gun-free zones if I possibly can. My main supermarket, gas stations, theater, etc. allow carry. I'd like to add churches. As Christians, we've been targeted for a very long time and even more so today. My husband & 2 brother-in-laws stand as volunteer security in our church. We actually have several volunteers. We live in a small town here in Texas. And we are aware that all the surrounding small towns also have several security at their church. I own a business that I sometimes need to go into Austin and my husband doesn't like it. During lockdown, he used to go with me when I have customer meetings especially during the summer of love. Remember your ABCs. Stay frosty. Stay strapped. And always stay dangerous. Thank you for the video. I'm sharing it with my family and friends. God bless.

I carry too but not all the time. I am in my 60s and live in an urban area. I think you need to know where to go, when to go and be aware of your surroundings. Be quick about your business when you may be in a perceived sketchy area or high target spot. I am not saying don't carry but if you aren't, don't give off the paranoid vibes and be smart about where you are and when you are there. If you look like a scared sheep, the wolves will see it too. Keep your head on a swivel so to speak and just be safe. No mater whether you are carrying or not.

Just in the first week of May 2024- 5 mountain Lions were captured by Arizona Fish & Game you can fact check this. The Mountain Lions were becoming to familiar in residential neighborhoods within the City Limits of Prescott Arizona. I believe 3 or 4 of the 5 were relocated as they were no longer afraid of humans,one Or two had to be euthanized because it was considered to be too much of s threat these mountain lions were jumping fences into residential backyards. So you don't have to be in the wilderness to carry a gun
