Top 5 Pros and Cons of an E46!

Today I'm going to go through the pros and cons on the E46, these cars can be very good but also very bad and Ill run you through the things to look out for and what you can do with them!

Dont agree with your m54 remark. The m54 is bulletproof. Had 4x 330i's still 3 in the family at 260-300,000kms and still going strong. Some oil consumption but the engine itself solid

The best engine is the biggest you can get. I own a m54b30 330 ci manual from year 2002, 310.000 km, absolutely no problems. Oil consumption 1 lt/10.000 km the engine has never been opened. And the last 170.000 km it drives with lpg conversion. No engine lights, no power loss. But other engines are good also. They just have a little less power. M52tu is also a great engine and Very reliable. M54 and m52tu are equally reliable, most parts are common. The base design is the same. And they both have aluminium blocks.

@@AJCars. The truth is that m52tu engines usually don't consume any oil. M54 engines on the other hand, tend to consume some oil. But it's not due to some kind of problem, just thinner oil rings for better performance and lower consumption. They have less inner friction than m52tu. If an engine consumes 1 or 2 litres of oil every 10-15.000 km there is no problem. Speaking from my experience, I bought my car in 2008 with 90.000 km. Since then, the oil consumption has remained the same, with oil changes every 10-12.000 km 0w40 or 5w40 oil.

They’re 9.5j front 10.5j rear 19” et35, can’t quite remember tyres sorry and no the wings are standard untouched and the rear arches I have shaved down 👍🏻

M54 are the ones to get, mines got 750k miles on with only a coil pack ever needing to be changed. All the 6cyl engines in e46s are decent but m54 are miles above m52tu

I found a 2000 320i Sedan 5spd manual 150hp, sunroof and electric front windows 265.000km at 2100 euro, is this a good deal?

I’m pretty sure the 320i is a 4 cylinder, I’d probably stay away from them however if the car is well serviced and maintained well then go for it
