I came up with #3 as well, but instead of a “random” (non-putt) throw, I putt from the basket with the smoothest throw I can do. And note the distance. Then take a step or two forward from the disc (to account for basket height and yard slope) and throw easy again. This has given me confidence in throwing lighter and smoother and still making longer putts. I’m very, very new to the sport and this makes my putts way more consistent.

I don't bag any trilogy molds but, they have an amazing KZbin channel. Johnathan is an killers guy for the job. And I love watching him grow as a player. From just him learning what disc the can throw and put in his bag to watching him play his first tournament. Always solid content and the best soundtrack out there. putt with a flash light. My morning round starts at first light. For this reason, I sometimes warm up in the dark. I carry with me a small LED flashlight which I place on top of the basket pointing down so that it illuminates from the center outward. I then putt from various locations around the basket with the only thing I can see is where the flashlight is illuminating. It helps my focusing. Indoors at home, I putt down a narrow hallway. I add points for making baskets and my wife subtracts many points when I hit the walls (especially her family photos). Very quickly I stopped hitting the walls. Also, I turn on a small lamp behind the basket and turn off the hallway light. It's a lightweight basket (the indoor one) and so if I don't hit the center pole, the discs fly right through it.

I do a variation of #1 but instead of stations I just start from 3 to 4 meters and if you make them all you move your marker back away from basket as many feet as discs you are using (I use 5), if you don't make them all you move your marker forward as many feet as discs you missed. Now just see how far back you can make it! Sometimes I leave my marker out there for the next practice session and continue it! I feel it just puts you in that position that you need the most practice no matter what your skill level is and is super fun challenge that never ends.

Det finns en rolig puttträning/ lek som jag kallar för Par 1,5. Sätt ut 9 olika puttlägen. Därefter puttar man två gånger per station. Sätter man putten är det en Birdie men om man missar så är det inte Par utan Bogey. Det är därför det kallas för Par 1,5. Bäst resultat efter de 9 stationerna vinner🙂

River is a staple in my bag, as well as the fuse. But do get an explorer, it is sooo good for so many shots! I personally got one opto explorer (just regular anything fairway) and one Emerson Kieth Tour Series Gold-X (when you want the slighly more hook at the end) in the end of last season, probably keeping them for next. Staple discs for me.

I've got a practice basket but a small garden so can't really practice long putts. More a case of keeping my form correct. When using the practice basket at my local course I warm up with a few putts at the same distances I do at home then do random positions and stances. On practice rounds I have adopted something I saw Paige Pierce do on a practice round video. If she makes a putt she'll take two paces back and try from there as well, then on to the next hole.

I do variation from number three during field workout if I have a basket. I practice upshots from close distances like 40 meters. Throw all my approaches and then put from those. As I ain't parking most of them it gives maybe more close to realistic practice to what would happen during round. Then make put from those places, masochistic version for me is that I take three putters and am not allowed to advance from that disc to another before I've made all in same set. This kind of improves your upshots also as you don't want to land way too far if you are amateur like me and putting outside 10m especially is lot harder. And on some days 5m can be personal hell.

Putting blind forces you to work on consistency. Your motions have to be consistent each time or you miss. That's why Linus did better...he's more consistent.
@Latitude642 жыл бұрын
Yeah we talked about this off camera. Johannes was also there testing this. He was also really good at putting without looking.
@maksenDK2 жыл бұрын
There is a lot of fun games to practice with. But to me it's simple. "don't practice missing" - Start with 10-15 feet (3 m) and just throw them in, hundreds of times. Making so many puts will build confidence (the important part). Then just move a bit further away some times and when you miss, go back to the easy ones again. You should be making 9/10 puts when practicing at least. It's all about building muscle memory. That will translate to longer puts easily.

Hmm I don´t know really. Still have some hyzer I think. But I release the disc a bit higher than before I think. That seem to fix it a bit for me at least. Am still adjusting my putt here and there I find. Work in progress, haha :)

Well maybe not releasing it higher when I think of it. I start the movement a bit higher. It´s really hard to explain.
@kathyzumwalt59542 жыл бұрын
Elbow higher. It seems a little counter-intuitive but try it and see. Also, make sure you lead the motion with your hand. Elbow high, then putt-not elbow low, high, release. Does that make sense? I’ve had the same issue and this has helped mine. Maybe it will help you.

I can’t believe you guys didn’t like horse. I guess I find that game a little boring as well but it seems like games to keep your interest are one of the more important things. Like you said it’s all about repetition and if you quit early then you don’t get your reps in. With somebody else you can play horse with multiple discs. By myself I like playing out of the circle. Start at 15 feet and back up five each station to 35. Move forward if you miss. If you’re good used 234 or five discs.

Putting with your eyes closed can actually help, while not actually putting. For instance. Get into your putting stance and point your body at something that will act like the basket. A painting, furniture, whatever. Go through your full putting motion a dozen times and act like you actually putting. Then, close your eyes and repeat your putting motion a few times. Again, use your full putting motion. Legs and all. Don't just move your arm. Afterwards, open your eyes. Are you still facing your target? Chances are, your body may have naturally shifted to the side. That's probably the side you miss the most putts on. With that knowledge, you can work on your aim/footing. Work on your form until you can close your eyes, perform your putting form a dozen times, and still be in the same exact place.

This is the comment I was looking for. I have seen Scott Stockley do this before with a student to make sure the energy was going toward the basket.
