I have to agree totally with your top 5. Especially No 1. If collectors want the complete run of COA 50c coins, the 2005 must be included and collected. Much more important than all the different minted PNC and special RAM editions, of different denominations, which are being bought and unpackaged proudly on You tube. Any one saying it shouldn't be included, as it is a PNC coin and not for circulation, should not be collecting all of the various denominations only included in MINT sets, 86, 87, 89,90,92, that were not meant for circulation either. The 2005 I would argue is in the same category. The 2005 can still be purchased on E Bay, from England, for under $100 AUD, which I think is reasonable as it is not a plentiful coin. You are the only You tuber I have seen even mention this coin. Well done.

Thank you for your comment Ross. I agree with everything you mentioned here as I feel the same way. The good thing is that the prices have come down over the past several months as I think all the hype is currently on the $2 coins which is good for 50c coin collectors like myself. I know the 2005 50c COA will most likely never be found in change however it is possible as we see many not for circulation coins found in our change now days. Thanks mate. Yeah it is a nice PNC but is now super expensive. I was lucky to buy mine a few years ago for a lot cheaper then they are now. Nice buy on the 2020 mate, I have just made a video on this 2020 mint set and whether it is a good buy right now. I'll be uploading it on Thursday.

Thanks mate. The number 1 spot is debatable as the 2005 C.O.A was only in a PNC however its one of the rarest 50c coins minted and yes the 77 mule is the rarest 50c coin but I feel that coin is out of reach for us all. Found 4 2020 50 cents,mintage of 90 thousand at the half year.Found a couple dozen 2019 I.R.B and J.C fifties also from coin picking.Reckon the 2019 J.C should be number one as the 2005 C.O.A is only found in the PNC.

Its good to hear that some 2020 50c coins are being found. I tend to agree with you that the 2019 JC 50c coin should be number 1 and yes the 2005 is in a PNC however there is still a slim chance of finding one in circulation as PNCs are sometimes broken up and same goes for mint sets. The title was going to be top 5 rare 50c coins but as 4 of them are found in change I just went with it.

Hi, The 50c coin with the flag is either the celebrating the millennium or Royal visit as that also has a flag on it. You could have an incused 50c coin which is worth some money. Just check on eBay and see what they sell for and that would be the best place to sell them or coin Facebook groups. I thi k the ram needs to give us more specific info on the mintages of coins like how many for circulation, how many in mint sets, how many carded etc. Great vid btw👍

I agree mate. Hopefully they make some changes in the future so we get a better understanding on what the exact mintages are especially when it comes to mint bags as they are not counted in the figures on the RAM's website.

interesting and there so alike to our 50p just on a bigger size. I find with our 50ps there more designs than any of our other coins. so I always check my 50p more. 🙂👍👍

I just finished watching your latest video mate, I see you found a 50p but not a special one. Yes they are very much alike, just that the Aussie 50c is bigger in size and has more edges. I would say the same with Aussie 50c coins mate but the $2 coins are catching up. You never know, you might find a special 50p while metal detecting.

Yeah I find more 93's then 85's now days but still at 1 million they are worth keeping as in the future I suspect they will start to become harder to find in circulation.

If you have the Eddie Mabo 2017 50c coin it can sell for $3+ but if its the standard coat of arms 50c coin, its not worth that much, $1 -$2 if your lucky.

Yes I understand why it shouldn't be number 1 but it is a very rare 50c coin. Congrats on the 1985 find, I also found one yesterday while going through a jumbo bag. It makes it number four for me this year. Yeah the 77 mule is a rare coin and maybe that should be number 1.
