In this video I am going to be showing you what I think are the 5 rarest chao actions that your chao can do in the Chao Garden. This is just my opinion as there isn't really a set rarity for any of these animations or actions within the games code, so this all entirely just my own judgement from years of playing the game.
The 5 actions or animations are all possible to get in a vanilla unmodded game but I also have some rare modded animations to show you after 😊

Sonic Adventure 2 (Japanese: ソニックアドベンチャー2 Hepburn: Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast console and the last Sonic game to be released for a Sega console and is a sequel to 1998's Sonic Adventure. It was released in North America, Europe, and Japan in June 2001 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and re-titled Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (ソニックアドベンチャー2 バトル Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū Batoru?), with brand-new features as well as minor changes in the level design. The original game and content from Battle was released in high-definition on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in October 2012. A version for Microsoft Windows was released in November 2012.
The game takes place after the events of its predecessing game: Sonic Adventure. The series antagonist Doctor Eggman releases Shadow the Hedgehog, who joins Eggman and treasure hunter Rouge the Bat to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds. The game's story focuses on the protagonists Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna and Miles "Tails" Prower as they attempt to stop Eggman and Shadow from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

After all these years, I'm still miffed that the *_ONLY_* visual cue of a Chao with a runny nose is a slipping sound effect and the tired, half-open eye look. They couldn't add snot bubbles or something?

Also, while not super rare, I'm surprised you didn't give an honorable mention to the cute Chao talking/chatting convos. Some of them can lead to an argument where the Chao turn away from each other.

The irony of Japanese games having entire snot bubble characters such as Cubchoo and Daisy Mae...but they failed to add a snot bubble when it would have been relevant to an actual gameplay mechanic. 😂 (At least it spares players from seeing something gross)

I didn't even know the sicknesses had unique animations, I've put tons of time into Chao raising and have never had a Chao get sick. It's a mechanic that I constantly forget about because of how rare it is.

Me as well I recently got it on my steam version never in the 100's of hours on my GameCube version and it was hiccups. I actually lowkey thought the doctor was just for stats and the checkup was a gimmick.

Dude they spent wayyy too much time in the details of this game even in vanilla. It's basically a finished AAA game on its own. Why is this not ported over as a mobile game at this point.

I actually have come across an attacking chao in the original SA2B over a decade ago. I had a green dark chao named Bubbles who behaved that way: he loved Shadow but despised Sonic.

1:54 This one haunts me. On the Dreamcast, Chao can only die of old age and if you have a massive excess of Chao, it's hard to do anything and before the site went offline, I downloaded all the rare Chao. I had several "junk" chao that I wanted to clear out but had no way of doing so and so I beat up on one neutral chao because of the alleged 'if you beat a chao enough it will die" rumor. The chao didn't die. No instead it ran around screaming at the top of it's lungs. I hard shut off my dreamcast so as to not save what happened. I never encountered anyone who ever saw the animation, so until today, I thought it was a nightmare or hallucination...

I think my favorite out of all of these is the breakdance. It so out of nowhere but it's still funny just having a newborn Chao gain the ability to do so and it still doesn't even know how to walk yet. If possible to do that.

I had no idea they could plant trees. They put so much effort into the chao garden. Same as the nightopians from NiGHTS. They have so many extremely rare actions that only happen under very specific conditions. If they could just give us a mobile version of the chao garden or even a nightopians garden to test the waters, since NiGHTS is less popular than Sonic.

Bro the hiss thing happens to me all the time. The only time I've ever thrown a chao is by misclicking/tapping an action button when jumping to move around faster. (It's happened maybe 2 or 3 times and on separate chao) I always feel bad after and pet them after, and always thought the hissing was them 'roaring' trying to seem tough/cool. At least I've never gotten them to run away from me, or walk dizzily😭

I only saw the Chao hiss and dizzy because 10-year-old me headcanoned that Eggman was trying to do his best to play with them but doesn't know how to handle them. Never saw them run away from him though.

Cold. The best way to get dark chao (and not be a psycho chao abuser in doing so) is to spam headpats on them as Shadow/Rouge/Eggman. The inverse holds true with spamming headpats as Sonic/Tails/Knuckles to turn them heroic.

Hilariously out of character for Sonic. I think the only in-character chao abuse would be from Eggman, and maybe an especially unflattering interpretation of Rouge. (Since Shadow is mostly just aggressive to humans, and only until he remembers he was supposed to protect them)

When I was a teenager one of my chao got hiccups, which freaked me the hell out because I had been playing the game for many years at that point and out of nowhere I started hearing this weird noise in the garden had never heard before which turned out to be one of my chao hiccuping. Because it never happened again I eventually started to to think I just imagined it until I just looked it up. I also saw the attack animation one time and had a pretty similar experience with that.

I remember when I was young. I would intentionally hurt every chao as much as possible with Eggman. Having them all hate and fear him as the only person, though I've never had my chao attack me. After Eggmans adventure in the chao garden, I raised most of my chao with Shadow

I used to treat one Chao like gold and I'd throw the other Chao at the rocks and the walls and I got those running animations from the one I abused regularly as a kid. 😂 I didn't save though so I could keep it loving me. I remember running into those sick animations but I just assumed it was a random occurance.

For me, the bubble animation is a surprise. I guess I've never seen it (or never seen it enough to remember it) because I have always raised only a few chao (one?) at a time with the purpose of winning every race. After unlocking the secret requirements for the bubble animation, I guess I was probably no longer interested... Oops. 🤫

I had the dance in SA2B on the game cube... - my chao had some illnesses but here was one I didn't know until now it was one... The stomach ache... - sometimes when you abuse a chao with a hero they surely will fear you but when they turn dark the fight you more. I remember seeing my brother's Tails Chao have a rash animation, and I thought it usually happens after the Chao ate the fruit, but after it happening a little too much, I knew something was up, so I took it to the doctor, the stomach ache animation was always seen in my copy of SADX for the Gamecube, but now I know it's a sickness animation

I've got hundreds and hundreds of hours on the gamecube version, and I've only had a chao get sick once! It looked like she was shivering, but I never hit her (or if I do by accident I reset the console) so just had the idea to see if she was sick. I got so exicted she had a cold or something. 😆 I only knew chao could actually get sick because of watching SapphireChao back in the day. Then I was worried I hadn't fed my chao enough lol

In my hundreds of hours raising chao, the one and only time I EVER encountered a sick chao, I didn't even see the animation. I brought it to the doctor just because I wanted to check its stat grades, and as I was mashing through the dialogue, I noticed it was going on slightly longer than usual. I slowed down and caught like the last text box before the doctor gave my chao medicine. Very similar experience to catching Pokerus actually. Probably just as rare, except with no benefit. It just happens, it's over in an instant, and then it never happens ever again.

(I'm gonna hope that my memory isn't omega crappy): I remember playing SA2B on my sister's GameCube and on my Wii. One of our chao, a hero chao that was proficient in flying named, Sleet. Would get sick pretty often. Colds to be exact. And since he was given truck loads of dragons, he had the ability to sneeze out fire. I remember very distinctly one time. I saved the game for the night after I just took Sleet to the doctor. I went to bed, and had a dream where he caught another cold. But by the time I got to the chao garden. Sleet had sneezed so much that he set the entire place on fire. It was like all the chao had evacuated because of how bad it was. So he was all alone sneezing up a storm. I always thought that wasn't a dream. Because everything was perfectly on model too, the trees, fire, the little pond and the character I was playing. Everything. Only realized just recently that it wasn't real due to the fact that, chao are meant to be babies, and the game already had a character death in it (Maria).

the only sickness I ever saw my chao get was a rash, I remember distinctly seeing my chao scratch their back and it made kid me wonder if something was wrong. and I took em to the docktor right away. I... actually got the chao hiss a lot when I was younger, but never the running away animation. Reason for that is that dumb kid I was I didn't realize being nice to a chao as Eggman, Rouge, or Shadow would turn them into a dark chao. I thought the only way to get an evil chao was abusing them. I had Tails throw and kick a single chao around until he became a dark chao and only later after found out. I brought Rouge in and showed that little guy a lot of love after.

I'm a huge Chao raising fan, I spent so many hours on my gamecube raising and racing chao, got many rare ones by breeding, I did actually witness two forms of the sickness, the hiccups and tummy ache, I do have a steam SA2B modded chao garden which needs updating since I see so much more chao accessories in your chao garden

As a kid, i didnt realise that yiu can make a dark chao by using a team dark character. I thiught that yiu jave to abuse them to go dark. I had chao growl/hiss at me, cry, run away from me, sit down and get dizzy eyes, but i have never seen seen them do a dizzy walk.

I have never noticed the sick animations in game although I used to take my chao to the dr for no reason other than to check there age and I would always press checkup and once they did give my chao a pill. Not sure what it was for because I skipped the text but I think it was a cold.

I remember unlocking the chao garden with Rouge and I literally stopped playing the story mode for a while, just to raise chao. Everything was still new but I knew one thing: abusing one of the two babies made it look different, so I abused the heck out of it and got the hero garden as a “reward” xD Some of these animations are very familiar and kinda nostalgic haha

Ive seen the hiss animation but when its a dark chao seeing a hero character. I dont abuse my chaos i just thought of it as oh there dark so they dont like heros. Ive also seen it with hero chaos doing it to villian characters

My Chao would just randomly do the hiss animation at nothing. It was funny. And I know it wasn't how I cared for them because they'd do it no matter WHAT character I was on and I doted on my Chao like crazy.

I only ever entered the chao garden as tails so I thought throwing the chao against the wall was the only way to make them dark. So all my dark chao were results of abuse and never reincarnated. I loved my chao a lot but thought some looked cooler dark. I thought if I played as a dark character I would have to do the same thing.

Only my Chaos had a sickness... My brother and I shared the Chao gardens. I had mostly Hero Chaos and my brother the Dark Chaos. My brother noticed that one of my Chaos was scratching itself and years later I noticed just a weird sound lately. It was the running nose... I don't know why but it was always like this when we played a game. I got the rare shinies on Pokémon and I got the rare sicknesses from the Chao garden...

I'm not gonna lie I've seen the hiss and running. It's simple facts that abusing chao with dark characters is simply the fastest way to make a hero chao.

I never abused chao much because I thought they would die and I'd have to start over. It is pretty funny though, in a messed up sort of way.
