I had mirrored T Tops (silver mirrored) and the retracting fog lights on my first JDM g limited supercharger… also had retract mirrors (body coloured) which I now have on my sc conversion (sunroof). Sold the fog lights for a stupid low price 20 years back as didn’t like how they made the car look.

I've been into these cars for a couple decades now and I've had 11 of them pass through my hands (all while keeping my 89 I've had since the beginning). There are so many cool rare parts, many that were JDM only like the rear floor mat trays. Cool video!

Hey,,I've got those in my CANADIAN '89 Supercharged MR2. The interior is maroon(white exterior) and so are those mat trays you're talking about. I had a feeling they were rare but you just confirmed that for me. Thanks!! I've even got the T-Top bags(maroon as well) with the original stickers still on them!

2:47 They were re trimmed of the original seats LX seats. I believe his came from the surf ssr. "80's hero" (on instagram) owns/owned that car. He has those foglights on that car also. Local to me in australia. He had an ABFLUG supra amongst other cars. Guy was a collector of weird aw11 parts too.

That light blue aw11 in the early part of this video I parted out about 15 months ago. I'm using those t tops now on red 89 MK1.5. Had a few Recaro LX-C seats but now using the orange spectrum LS-C. Also using the Koito badged version of those fogs. Would love the roof rack one day!! Awesome cars, been driving them for 23 years now....

recaro still sells the lx and ls seats actually but they are insanely priced, ive been pricing them out for my e30 and its genuinely cheaper to buy originals that have been reupholstered. the hard part is probably finding seat brackets but if the mr2 community is anything like the e30 scene there are probably aftermarket options. hopefully i can sell of some of my e30 stuff and pick up a mr2 before their prices go crazy, always wanted an aw11

Dang dude how much are they new? Yeah man the aw11s right now for sole reason aren’t that expensive compared to the second and third gen which is surprising because its the oldest.

@@hakosan86 the seats are 2500 dollars a seat new from recaro which imo is highway robbery when i can buy a pair of original lx seats from someone online that have been recovered for 1300 usd. and yeah im shocked at how cheap aw11s are still. especially compared to my e30s. i figure now's the time to snag a mr2 project before they all disappear or go way up in price. the beautiful part is i can share all my wheels and tires between the two cars, i have a ton of 4x100 wheels laying around.

I think the wind deflectors are super rare...yes there were wind deflectors in the oem accessories!

Recently bought a 1990 mk1 and made sure it was a Sunroof model. Back in the 80s the t tops were famous for leaking.

Great Video I'm the one that helped Kin make the replica keys from my original uncut mascot key, they werent adverted as an option like the rest, they seem to be more of a promotional add on. He did a great job. I also have the Mirror TTop glass. This wasnt just an option, it was for Superedition and 1989 models only as was the rare LED spoiler and the Aerodynamic retractable Wing mirrors. Theres also a softtop convertable roof version as well as Hardtop, sunroof, TTop. The Roof rack in your video is also the Hardtop/sunroof version it doesnt attach to the TTops glass they made a specific TTop one I have a set here too. The TTop specific rack attaches to the A pillar/windscreen frame area. The Tartan interior was common with the 1500 AW10s made with either tartan or leather finish. There was also marker/fender lights for the guards a shoe box holder, rare floor mats, rare cruise control, a handheld radio reciever/trandmittor and more rare options. Great video. Having owned 2 t top and 1 sunroof aw11 I agree. Sunroof looks tidier and in the UK the t tops just leaked and rarely came off… sunroof looks cool flipped up with the other sharp angles of the car and generally has less leaks.

Great list, but I disagree about the cars being super impractical. There is a decent amount of space in the trunk, and you have some space in the frunk as well all though it isn't as nice up there. There are also preproduction keys out there and you could probably tint the t tops yourself.

I dont think the fog lights were aw11 specific. I could be wrong but I believe it was a toyota option for the aw11, corolla ect. The rarest part would be the storage box that was a add on to the roof racks. You showed it in your video but didn't mention it. I've only seen 1 person post that they have it and it looks really cool. Another part you didn't mention that I personally have is the side windows rain guards. They look nice.

Another super rare part is the rear spoiler with LED brake strip built in. They were addons for supercharged editions in US I think.
