Hi Dr. David, Last week, I requested that you do a video addressing outer knee pain and I thank you so much for doing this! Based on your information, I now believe my pain is knock knee related and what I need to do to address this issue. Again, thank you so much for doing these awesome videos and taking the time to explain things so clearly for the layman. Your videos are making a huge contribution to helping people manage issues "without injections and/or surgery." Love💕, Light,🌟Angel Blessings😇🙏🏻

Thank you for another educative video. A year ago if i walked 50 steps and sat down i could not fold my left knees easily. I tool 5 minutes before I could fold my left knee. I did a little herbal oil gentle massage on the outside of the knee where i had pain and stiffness. By God's grace this injury seems to have repaired itself as this problem is 90% resolved. Thank you dr. for reinforcing the teaching about the body's ability to repair itself without unnecessary surgery. God bless you 🙌

Hi Muqaddas, there are various reasons why you could be experiencing outer knee pain. We would need to conduct a proper evaluation to be able to determine what the cause in. Generally, you could be experiencing a tibial shift which cause pain on the inside or the outside of the knee. It could also be a tight Tensor Fascia Latae muscle that could be pulling on the IT Band causing pain. We have an IT Band playlist that could be beneficial to your situation. You can access it here: “IT Band Syndrome Pain Help” kzbin.info/aero/PLJVIPiFvv1mZUkmp_Vahu2yuGNPa9D43T We hope this helps! We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

Does it make sense if it is both knees it is probably arthritis? I have been twice to an orthopedic and they have taken x rays and really did not help much. Said probably arthritis, but why wouldn't they know for sure if they did x rays?
@epmanualphysicaltherapy
@epmanualphysicaltherapy 2 жыл бұрын
Hey DeLila! Sorry to hear that you've got a knee problem without a diagnosis. This happens all too often sadly, most healthcare professionals don't really know what to do to solve knee problems for the long term. They likely couldn't see anything dramatic on your x-ray so they didn't convey much certainty to you. You might not get very far with that orthopedic. If they can't figure it out, then they like to do more tests and usually end up wanting to do a surgery. Your best bet is to educate yourself about knee problems so you can make the best decision about how to handle it.
@miriamroche671
@miriamroche671 2 жыл бұрын
Hi DeLila. I had similar results where xrays showed up nothing but I was still diagnosed with arthritis and given injections into both knees and shoulders - which helped for one week. I was in so much pain 6 months later, with no help offered, I insisted on an MRI which showed torn meniscus in both knees. Now my doc wants me to see an orthopedic but I said no I'm sticking with Dr Davids 28 day knee program which helped me immediately. You can get a refund in the first 7 days. But trust me you won't want it cause it's worth every penny. Good luck ☘

Thank you so much for this video. I found your video after going to my family doctor and getting x-rays. I wanted to know what was going on with my right knee. Your videos are very informative and educational. My family doctor advised me to take 2 Aleve a day and if that didn't work he would recommend knee injections. I don't agree with this treatment. I have a ruptured disk in my neck so I go to a chiropractor who has helped me with my knee pain and swelling. I will be looking for a good physical therapist in my area. I'm benj watching all your videos...i relate to more than one of your videos...Thank you so much. I work too hard and play too hard especially at age 55 & female. Hello Dr David, I believe you are really good at knee pain problems. I watched a lot of your videos. You are explaining them in very convincing self-confidence manners. I have born 1985.(I think giving born info is better). I have knee pain(both), neck herniation, lover back herniation, elbow pain(most probably triceps tendonits), lower side of scapula cracking, and shoulder pain(it is inpingment and rotator cuff syndrome,both diagnosed 7 years ago). I will give info and progress for each problem for specific area. About my knee pain, yes you are right my quads are too strong, conterversary my glutes are very week and inactive. Besides, Can you please make video triceps exercise?

Dr David, I had a knee replacement 4 months ago. My recovery has been hampered by a tight IT band and is still very painful, although my surgeon is pleased with my progress and says the new knee is functioning as it ought. My PT is a little baffled but is trying everything she can think of to get this IT to loosen up. I'd appreciate your thoughts about this.

Good morning, I had knee pain on the outside after a 22km trek downhill. It went off overnight after applying voltaren gel. I had a knee injury 15 years ago with water logging. Since then I’ve made sure my leg and flute muscles are strong. This incidence was a surprise. Is it an indication of something to come? Or probably just a one of situation I’m 58 years old. Thanks a lot

I am one of those people who overdid it and ran 10 miles with not a lot of build up for it. I have a slight bothering pain on the outside of my knee thats been bothering me for about a week now. I dont think i did anything crazy but what you described with the meniscus and overworking it sounds like what i did, is a doctors visit necessary or should i just rest and if so for how long? Thank you!

Hey Dr D what causes the joint to stiffen so much when you have arthritis and torn meniscus - which I have in both knees. When the cartilage thins or tears does that prevent the joint from moving as freely as it would normally ? Or is it to do with the synovial fluid - or both ?
@epmanualphysicaltherapy
@epmanualphysicaltherapy 2 жыл бұрын
Great question Miriam! Yes thinning of the cartilage/meniscus leads to stiffness. It's also that there's usually too much compression in the joint from muscle imbalances (quads too strong) and this leads to the knee cartilage getting dehydrated. Knee cartilage is ~70% water and when it gets chronically smashed, it loses water and loses it's slickness. This means there will be more friction in the joint. The good news about this is that if you can re-hydrate the cartilage by taking pressure off the joint, then you can un-stiffen your knee! The exception would be if you have lost too much cartilage and there are too many bony changes in your joint...then stiffness may only mildly improve.
@miriamroche671
@miriamroche671 2 жыл бұрын
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Thanks so much for that. I'm looking forward to un-stiffened knees by following your program. It's such a relief to be pain free after a year and a half. And now to know the stiffness will go too in time - I'm pretty sure my knees are not beyond repair. Thank you again - please never stop doing what you do 🤗
