So number 1 it not being a chick magnet, well really its personality that attracts girls more then any bike ever will. At least in my experience. Number 2 gas mileage of 40mpg is good enough for a 6 cylinder 800 pound power cruiser and let’s nor forget it takes regular gas, a big savings. Number 3 regarding accessories, the bike is perfect the way it is and I’ve not seen an accessory that made it look or be any better. Carry a day pack and a tank bag, I find handles most situations. Saddlebags look out of place on this bike. The only extra I have on mind is that small Honda windscreen and that’s the way I prefer it. Number 4, is the only one I agree with you, there is to much plastic. Number 5, it’s not a sport bike? Well yeah, but damn it handles nice enough and feels super stable under any and all conditions. I don’t think I’ll ever sell mine, there’s nothing that replaces it and I think over time people will see the unique qualities in this bike and it’s relative rarity. I bought a 2014 new in 2015 as a leftover. Same color as yours. Enjoy.

As for the no ethanol gas, I totally agree. I use it in all my bikes, and even keep a supply of aviation 100LL that I run either straight or mixed in with my 93 ethanol free. FYI aviation 100LL actually has ten times the lead of the old regular gas! AND most importantly, it will sit for YEARS and not gum up! If you live in a winter area ....not me! ... run the tank low before winterizing, and put a couple of gallons of 100LL in, run the bike a couple of miles, and then store it, Yeah, it's $6 a friggin gallon!

I rode my Hayabusa for 13 years when I traded in for a new left over 2014 Valkyrie. I love it. I rode a Yamaha FZ1 for 8 years prior to that. I have lots of time riding wheelies. The Valkyrie is an engineering work of art. It runs and handles so well. I have ridden since I was 7 years old (mini-bikes) and the Valkyrie is a very special ride. Umm, not sure I agree with all the nays. I've been riding for decades..starting in the dirt. I've owned and ridden many different bikes. Simply put the 14'/15' Valkyries are arguably one of the BEST bikes ever made! It's not a touring bike, or a sport bike, or a total cruiser, it's s brilliant combination of all! First of all the only real negs are the stock tires (they suck arse), the stock seat, and the lack of *some* aftermarket parts...including FRONT tire choices. It likes ETHANOL FREE gas. With it you can get nearly 50mpg with moderate throttle positions...and with the corn free fuel it's much faster and smoother! I CANNOT stress this enough! If you cannot get corn free fuel use a ethanol fuel conditioner as a fuel additive. I do, works perfectly. Next thing: Get rid of those stock tires. The bike with a set of Michelin Pilots or Pirelli Angel GT2s is COMPLETELY different. With the spring loading set correctly that bike *snap* turns, and holds cornering lines with precision...I cannot stress this enough either. I could go on and on...and on how kick arse of a bike it is... Incidently, all the *plastic* keeps it lighter... No biggie..The bike could be much heavier...but Honda chose this to keep it light, fast, agile and RELIABLE. Incidentally 2: I just bought a new BMW R18 Classic. Awesome bike with great character and technology...German quality and engineering...etc., etc., but it *ain't* no F6C!!

40 mpg is just fine. Comparing a Kia Spectra to this? Let's see how that Spectra does off the line. For an 1800 cc six cylinder monster, the last thing you're worried about is mileage. Customizing is an issue. Not many aftermarket parts available for her. But it doesn't need much, and what it needs is available from Honda. Windshield, bags, luggage rack, and lots of other smaller stuff can be had. Tires? YES. Very limited options. Can't argue that. And if you're going to complain about gas mileage, you can't complain about plastic. That cuts weight. I am not a fan of a lot of chrome. It's blinding and gets pitted after while. Actually 1832 cc. Is it for everyone? Nope. Is it all things to all people? No. But it is one KICK ASS motorcycle.

I fixed my tire issue with a car tire, I went from replacing my back tire every 2,500 to 3,000 miles to after 4 years it still looks good, and I never noticed a difference in handling, it's not blocky and you have a ton more traction off the line, I'll get the size and brand here in a little bit but it was definitely worth it to not spend 180 to 250 dollars every time I turn around, and on this particular car tire the beads look identical.

I've owned two motorcycles. A 2003 Honda VTX 1500 and a 2014 Honda Valkyrie. I traded the VTX for the Valkyrie. I placed Corbin hard bags and a Corbin saddle on it. It came with fog lights and a wind screen. I added three LED lights. If I trade in this bike, it will be for a Valkyrie with a pushbutton starter. It gets attention from men and women. Almost equally. But I'm in it for the ride, and it handles very well. Oh, I do want a Rune in addition to my motorcycle and a scooter. And the Valkyrie has a six gallon tank. I'm sure my neighbors are happy I can not change the exhaust.

The Rune is a heartbreakingly beautiful motorcycle, I tell you what. That's a sculpture on wheels. Unfortunately (for me) it's just far, far too expensive to keep and maintain. I love seeing them in the wild like endangered animals but not for my garage. Personally I'd never want one, but you can get an aftermarket remote starter put on motorcycles, can't you? The "plastic" body work on this bike is not just for style. Honda designed It to do a very good job of isolating the rider from the engine heat. The old Val. is a leg baker and if it has after market pipes they will fry your ankles. Thankfully, excessive engine heat to the rider is not on your list.

Here's why I DO want one. To convert into a sport bike. Well not really a sport bike but I have seen no one do a conversion to cafe racer style with one of these. Please tell me if I'm mistaken. I love that kind of challenge. It would require some pretty significant mods though. Not sure what the heck I would do with those radiators sticking out the sides but that tail would be getting chopped. That tank would be getting changed or modded. And that seat would be getting raised.
@bikerbobcat
@bikerbobcat 5 ай бұрын
I've only ever seen 1 custom job with the 14/15 Valkyrie and it was pretty horrid, partly because they couldn't really do much, especially with the 2 radiators. Besides a tail chop they made the lines a little sharper and more boxy but that was about it. I tried to find it to link for you but couldn't. I'd love another to experiment with putting on a turbo or something like that. Thanks for watching!

5) Maybe it's not the bike that isn't the "chick magnet"? 4) You want a Super Cub? (see more reasons for #5) And if you're concerned about mileage on a bike, maybe drive a Fiat. 3) Is it really "custom" if you can buy it off a shelf? You can fabricate just about anything. Brackets are easy. 2) Plastic? It's 2014. And the VTX isn't a Wing motor. So yea..... 1) I DON'T want a Sport Bike. You don't look at one when wanting another. What was your list again?
@bikerbobcat
@bikerbobcat 3 жыл бұрын
-I'm personally not looking to attract anyone. At all. Ever. It's a trope. -I really do want the Hunter cub (or whatever that trail version is called) because it frankly just looks fun and some folk really are mileage motivated. -It's really custom, yes, if you take something stock and change it. Are you "really" a biker if you don't have a Harley and leather and liver disease? Yes. -No the VTX motor isn't a Wing motor. It was just a bigger version of the Shadow so it was familiar. Still want it. -I also want a sport bike because they're fast and light and serve a niche. Thanks for watching! :D

In my experience, women don't care about motorcycles in the first place, unless they are old biker ladies. As far as women under the age of 45, they prefer the modern look of the valkyrie to the dated look of Harleys. And also on my experience, older people hate the valkyrie, which is why it never sold and was discontinued after only 2 years. Old people that could afford it didn't like it because it didn't look like a 1960s Harley, and younger people that wanted it couldn't afford it. You can get the Honda saddle bag brackets and attach whatever saddle bags you want to them. The selection is absolutely not limited. You just have to be slightly handy with tools. And the brackets aren't $500. You need to get it out of your head that plastic automatically equals bad. It doesn't. If they made all those plastic parts out of metal the bike would be 100 pounds heavier. Besides that, chrome is shit. It's not 1955 anymore. Let the chrome die. 40mpg is pretty damn good to me. It's got tons of power and will run for a literal million miles. It will outlast any Harley on the road. Plus it is 750 pounds. You shouldn't be expecting 80mpg. It is not a boat. It is extremely maneuverable, not just for its size, but in general. I have absolutely no trouble doing emergency maneuvers to avoid road debris, or taking high speed turns with the pegs scraping. And yes, it does work that way. It is FAR more maneuverable than a goldwing and much faster as well. It's 170 pounds lighter and even has 5 more horsepower thanks to the slightly different tuning and exhaust. The only real issue with this bike is the seat is pretty bad.

5. If you pick your bike based on how you can pick up women.....just wow! 4. Fuel mileage? If you are a daily commuter and you can't afford 40 MPG then get another bike. 3. Why would anyone change the exhaust on this bike? The stock exhaust is nice and sounds great. Why would you get saddlebags for this bike? Buy a Goldwing or FB6 if you want bags. If it really is a thing then Corbin makes beautiful bags for this bike, but pricey. I have put a Corbin seat on mine and a bunch of chrome look trim and small windscreen. 4. Don't like plastic? What? Get a naked bike then. Many bikes have plastic. My ZX14R has a tone of plastic. 5. If folks buy the Valkyrie thinking it's a sport bike - well then I don't know what to say! LOL I've been riding for over 40 years and this is the smoothest most refined ride I have ever been on. That being said - it's in a niche that when most people get a bike this large they want one like a Goldwing with bags and tech for long trips. For around town folks get lighter 1000cc bikes.

I never liked that approach beyond stripping down older bikes for performance like the Honda Shadow I had. Personally I really do think the Valkyrie looks better than standard Goldwings. Paint isn't finished the same, wires are exposed that are normally hidden, etc. This was designed to be barebones, and I can add on what I want as I want it. People a little bit younger than me, would call my love of the Valkyrie, a THICC attraction I suppose... 😁 [I would argue that a segment of GenX, has a thing for that "organic" bubbly, styling thing - but, that's for a video about generational influences and marketing cycles, more so than motorcycles.] I have ridden multiple Harleys, including direct competitor Road Kings that were almost two decades newer - the Valkyrie is still the better ride. The low center of mass with the F6 makes a THICC bike, very nimble... until you get to parking lot maneuvers, that is where handling the big girl, becomes a severe problem. Wobbly front end, and weight leverage. A Valk dwarfs HD's when parked on the line - and it takes a fuck ton of leg strength to move around. Wings had "reverse" mode (along with cruise) - and, I miss that.

A reverse mode for parking would almost ALMOST make up for the sin of not having a 6th gear. Thanks for reminding me I need to get back to the gym if for no other reason than to be able to park this thing easier.

I ride a 98 tourer and absolutely love it but yes at low speeds it can be a handful…. Just the same I’m 53 and intend to own this bike for the rest of my life (I’m figuring on triking it if/when it becomes necessary). Wonderful machine!!

It absolutely IS a beautiful motorcycle. If you get the chance visiting Baltimore, check out the B&O railroad museum and see their yellow streamliner locomotive Chesapeake and Ohio 490 (you can find pictures of this beautiful machine online but it's so much better in person). The forward swept design reminds me very much of it. Plastic is my friend for reducing bike weight for sure, I just don't like dealing with it off the road/in the shop. As for the rest, I hope you took this list about as seriously as I did. Thanks for watching, and I'm serious about that

Btw...The bike really needs NOTHING other then different tires. With ethanol free gas it's a frickin' jet airplane. I wouldn't mess with the exhaust. The bike imo, aside from tires, is perfect out of the box.

I appreciate the insight on the tires. Always looking out for new information. I don't think I can get corn free stuff around here (DC-area) so what fuel additive do you use? Thanks for watching!
@AdrianRP1
@AdrianRP1 Жыл бұрын
@@bikerbobcat There are several available everywhere ...Meijer, Walmart, Auto parts stores...any place that sells fuel additives. Lucas Oil makes one, Stabil makes one, Startron, Amsoil...etc. You add about an ounce or two to every full tank...makes a huge difference...Plus it keeps your fuel system squeaky clean. Bike will always run great. NGK Irridium plugs! Deep six the crappy stock Densos...Lucas Oil 10w/30 full synthetic racing/bike oil (Jaso 2) best oil...I tried them all...revs quickest...Tires are EVERYTHING with that bike. Pirelli Angel GT2...H U G E improvement...over the stock Dunlop crap. Do all of this and you'll love that bike WAY more.

I swear 99% of the people that say anything at all about my bike are men above 50. It's fine, I didn't get it to attract anyone, but it is amusing. It was either this or a VTX1800 and this is what I landed on. No regrets!

Enjoyed your video but the 5 reasons are sketchy ..Chick Magnet..Females are generally not interested in motorcycles..Fuel economy all big motorcycles have lousy gas mileage I had a Benelli TNT 125 hardly uses any fuel its a laugh but that's it..Plastic parts that's most bikes now ..Heavy yeah it's not a sports bike it's a Goldwing but you know that before you buy....anyway subbed and liked and hi from Scotland...my bikes right now Africa Twin DCT Yamaha MT01 Honda X11 . Im also an airbrush artist.

The only thing more sketchy than these 5 reasons is my credentials, so I hope you didn't take it too seriously. I also hope to visit Scotland some day. These DCT bikes fascinate me. I've only ever been on standard manual bikes. Thanks for watching!

It's true! I'm a real big fan of light, thin steel or aluminum but that would also add quite a bit of cost. Frankly I like naked bikes more than ones with "body". The Valkyrie has a wonderful aesthetic, though. Thanks for watching!

It came with the bike when I bought it so I'm not 100% sure but I think it's the Nelson Rigg Commuter/Touring bag. If so it fits a whole lot of stuff.
