In 96 I bought a new B4000 4.0 6 cy stick shift regular cab. I put 250k miles on it, and it was still in good shape when I gave it away in 2014. At that time it was not my primary truck. It was a 2006 Ranger XLT, which is the same truck. In 2006 I did not live anywhere near a Mazda dealership.

How did it run when you sold it ? I found one with 1 owner with 250k miles and it looks REALLY good but idk if that’s good or not 🤷🏽‍♂️

I love the fact that most of the Rangers from this era were purchased to be “beasts of burdens” and are getting to the point where they are pretty used up! I have a ‘09 4x2 extended cab two-door that is in PRISTINE low-mileage condition and it always shocks me how much “love” that little truck gets when I take it out-and-about on a sunny afternoon! When I take it in for service at my local Ford dealer and they put it up on the lift, the next thing know there are usually 3-4 mechanics gathered around it amazed at how spotless it is from top-to-bottom! As one of the service writers there has said on several occasions, “That’s the cleanest fu*king Ranger I have ever seen!” 😂

Yeah they are hard to find clean these days they have always been beast’s for their size so they get used.

Anyone having an issue with a slight "thump" when braking? My '94 Mazda B4000 4x4 does it randomly no matter what gear I'm in (5 speed) so it's hard to pinpoint exactly what's causing it. Even does it in neutral.

Hmmm that’s weird I’ve never has that happen did you check all the brakes? There’s also a possibility it could be a U-Joint or the drive shaft isn’t sliding in the transfer case like it should.

@@fixemalltv8301 Found out yesterday that the thump was coming from my right rear wheel hub/brake guts/drum. My parking brake seized up and wouldn't let the shoes go back down to normal inside the drum. Cut the parking brake cable and the thump disappeared. Getting a new parking brake cable tomorrow to install.
