You are right! spot on! 6 more reasons. 1. bureaucracy (this is formerly socialist country) 2. dual citizenship (not allowed). 3. Foreigners can not own land (except for investment) 4.People prefer Swahili ( if you learn the language, a lot of doors are opened). 5. Conservative attitude(Tanzanian don't want to be on camera/women are expected to dress modestly). e.g. I don't know any full time Tanzanian local KZbinrs! (Most youtubers are returnees) 6.People expect everyone to be religious (atheism is not understood)."People will ask which church or mosque you go to !" ( I have never seen a public official sworn without either the Quran or the Bible).

I did not know who he was, and we chatted away in Swahili, but discovered a few days later who he was when I returned to Arusha. He was a humble person, never saying that he was the President of the country. I left my heart there, though moving to many other countries since then.

I think that a lot of what people see in Africa is less about culture and more about standards. I am Nigerian and in Nigeria we have all these same issues .But when Nigerians come to America they become the over achievers of overachievers .When it comes to work or school they ,they are efficient , on time and go the extra mile .Nigerians as a group, are some of the most successful people in America, second only to Asians! In Africa we have let a lot of things slide ,we accept as the norm such low standards .Substandard infrastructure , lack of water and electricity. Lack of order and systems. It is holding us back as a continent big time!

Nimefarahi kukuona Tena. I'm am leaving Michamvi Kae Zanzibar...I definitely complained....but not for the reasons a person thinks....the host appreciated my honesty. However there is way to speak and to reciprocate thoughts or feelings....it's all in the approach. This video is spot on. I now know I'm not cut out for Tanzania. This is a beautiful place still.

Good advice, but I think those from the Carib or descendants of will find it easier than AfrUsa peep, as we have retained a lot of culture 1st hand or via Grand/parents..I been Living in Ghana, visited Benin, Nigeria, Ghambia, Senegal, Kenya, Togo, Egypt & Tunisia.. i do see similarities in culture especially slowness lol...

You are absolutely correct. Don't bring arrogance and superiority attitude there. We benefit from uniting not comparing. Repatriation is about coming home and learning and sharing. Leave that negativity in the west. Thanks for spreading the word. Blessings.
