Boy ain't that the truth... and the younger siblings KNOW it too. I used to get so pissed when I'd see that little bottom lip come out and start quivering (from the young brother of my best friend). He'd get mad at not having his way in regards to something and that damn bottom lip would come out. I'd be like, "NOPE! NOPE!" He never would actually have to say what specifically was wrong when he went to his mom, which was convenient cuz I never actually physically hurt him... He just wouldn't get his way every now and then and he worked that emotional angle.

I live in the shadows of a refinery in Detroit. Once a year they test the disaster siren. It’s very close to the Chicago one, what makes it jarring is it’s followed by a female voice stating what the alarm is for, the voice is tested simultaneously at two places so there’s an unnatural echo that rings through the neighborhood.
