Another great vid. I’ve noticed a lot of sealed boosters being put up for auctions on eBay recently. I picked up some amazing deals. So good to have a second chance on a lot of these great sets. Keep up the vids man. Really enjoying them 👍

100%! A lot of these are going for really good prices on eBay and Cardmarket, too. I think there is still room for many products to come down, but getting stuff pre-June boom is nice. In an ideal world, everything is pre-Lost Abyss hype, but that might be too hopeful. However, you never know, and it is definitely worth to keep checking. Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm glad you enjoy the videos.

is sneaker dunk legit never bought from them before
@Dark_ibex7 ай бұрын
I've bought from them a few times. Never had an issue. Of all the secondary marketplace sites, it is one of the better ones. They inspect the booster boxes, although I doubt they can be 100% certain. That said, the chance of getting scammed is lower than on sites like Mercari Japan or Yahoo Japan. Have actually planned a video to talk about this. The best place will always be the Pokemon Center Online directly or reputable big-time resellers. For example, if I were in the U.S., I wouldn't even bother with snkrdnk and just buy from places like Pokene (not affiliated) for new sets anyway. I think JYW Pokeca (not affiliated either) is also selling at MSRP for the recent sets, and they ship from Japan. These days, prices for modern sets are very competitive and pretty damn close to Japanese prices. Always do your due diligence and check comps. Having said that, if the prices plus shipping and import duties through snkrdnk are low enough, then I think it is a good place to buy from. Thanks for the comment!@@Schommes

I would not recommend pokene. He does not care about your boxes will send them unprotected and not give any service. Never buy from him if this matters to you personally.

You know what also happened in June 2023? 151 came out in Japan. I think it changed everything. Best set in recent memory, got a ton of people like myself excited and back into the hobby and realized how good JP product is, and how awesome the JP card opening EXPERIENCE is.... for me it changed everything, at least 😅
@Dark_ibex6 ай бұрын
Yeah, 151 was a big deal for sure. But there were many other things happening around the same in Japan that probably had a bigger impact. Card shops manipulating prices, Chinese buyers going nuts, etc. Lots of potential reasons that all happened at the same time. It was a recipe for disaster.

I am so happy that I didn't jump on hype train and waited. Great opportunities coming up. I finally managed to pick up a sealed precious box pika for just over £100 and I am happy with that price. If that goes lower, will get more of those. Yokahama box is on the list as well, but still waiting to see. However, if I look at many Japanese sites, I still see a lot of those inflated prices and very often for me is cheaper to buy here in UK than get from Japan. Very strange time as that never happened before. Finally found some awesome Japanese content. New Sub.

Great price for the precious collector box! And you are right, the market for Japanese stuff is kinda weird. There are many products that are cheaper outside of Japan than in Japan. For example, Dream League booster boxes are cheaper on cardmarket than anywhere in Japan. Another one that always blows my mind is that Japanese base set booster packs are like $150 more expensive in Japan than in the US. I wouldn't say that Japanese prices are inflated, but rather that demand is just simply not as high outside of Japan. In addition, lots of people in the West got into Japanese cards purely for the money. A lot of those people are now leaving and offloading product. That is less the case in Japan, where demand for Japanese cards is simply the norm. Thanks for the sub!

@@Dark_ibex I guess we better take those deals while they last ha ha. Once it dries out then we will be back to same prices as in Japan.

Blue skystream is my favorite set. I have 22 boxes currently. It was a split set and those don't get reprinted. It only had 1 print run. I have a BL rayquaza vmax alt art canidate I got for $400 and luckily pulled the V. Also, tag team GX all stars. Never released in english and could be considered the best set ever made. Last but not least. The amazon JP lottery exclusive 25th anniversary boxes with the 4 sealed promo packs that are not searchable as they are banded to the box, 2 horizontal & 1 vertical band which are layered so you can't slide them off. I won the lotto so its the only reason I know about them. Bought 3 more because its the only way to get unsearched promo packs other than the golden box They will be incredibly rare in the future.

These are great items, for sure. It's always a question of the price, though. So, for someone new, money might be better spent elsewhere. Oh, there are also the small 25th-anniversary mini boxes from convenience stores that come with an unsearched promo pack. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@Kamehamehobby6 ай бұрын
Yeah price matters I don't think buying skystream or tag team gx all stars now is the best idea I was just talking about what I grabbed. Those special set boxes can be opened, searched and closed. They will just open the bottom flap, pull it out then reclose it. Its just a small piece of tape. I wouldn't trust them. Never did.

I love All starts tag team gold cards, but super suprised how much prices have fallen for those cards. Is there so much dislike to gold cards at the moment?

what are your thoughts on the lucario v prize promo? I bought a psa 10 copy, what do you think of this cards performance long term?
@Dark_ibex6 ай бұрын
Hard to say since I don't know much about the market for that card. Going off what I know, I like the card. Cool promo with a story, not a crazy high PSA 10 pop, and a popular Pokemon. At the same time, it is very niche, and being a regular full art while also not having some sort of prize stamp doesn't help. Unlikely for someone more casual to stumble across this card and recognize it as something special. I love niche cards, but they are so much less liquid. It might be hard to find a buyer in the future, and it's for sure not a card you ever want to auction. Impatient sellers will auction cards they shouldn't all the time and essentially create low-price comps through that. Niche cards get fewer bids, etc. I'd love this card as part of my collection, but I don't know if I'd pick it up as an investment. You never know, though...

Thankyou so much for the reply, it really helped me out! I managed to pick this card up for aorund 275 dollars, which I think is pretty good of a deal for this card!@@Dark_ibex

Quick question. How do you buy from Snkrdunk. Do I need Japanese address like Tenso? Thanks

I don't know how exactly it works if you're outside of Japan, but I'm pretty sure you just make an account.

Great video and great analysis, I think the hype is over due to the global economy. Japanese stock market is doing absurdly well and that’s somewhat a red flag to investors but usually when Japanese stock market is doing well, collectibles prices go down, vice versa.

Crazy to see how much cheaper all of this has become. Makes me wonder if we will ever see some bounce back or if this will continue to drop even harder. The sentiment with the Japanese market right now is so low and all the investors who bought in the past two years are down a lot on their money while swsh English product rockets higher. Definitely creates additional negative sentiment towards Japanese.
