This popped up on my feed literally the day after I got new stands for my monitors after having them on the desk for so long. I can confirm you're spot on - the difference has been instantly noticeable, on some songs I've been listening to on spotify instruments are a lot more defined and the bass is more pronounced.

I think for me the isolators are the best fit. There are always compromises when your space is multi-use. I use three screens for work in the same space, which creates some extra reflective surfaces likely not conducive to critical listening. I've been switching to headphones a lot to check what I'm hearing. Thanks for the video.

Very helpful, thank you. I think the first stands (the ones with the triangular base) are made in China by a number of OEM manufacturers, some with higher quality standards than others. I used to live in China and bought a pair by a company named SoundKing. Then I returned to the UK and bought a pair of stands that looked identical to the SoundKing ones, however, the ones I got in the UK were really poorly made and I ended up returning them and getting a pair of more expensive K&M stands. And yes, the ones from the UK were too made in China.

Useful video, thanks Sanjay, well explained and presented in your usual warm and pleasant style. Congratulations on your 100,000, i didn't realise I was one of your early subscribers a year ago. Well done, my friend. I have a pair of the triangle based stands and they do wobble as you found. The stands were good value but I decided to experiment while we had the builders in. I tried mounting my Yamaha HS8 monitors on towers of concrete breeze blocks with acoustic isolation platforms at the top. It's no pun to say that the sound is much more solid and focused.

Hi. Can't understand, how the triangle stands can be wobbly... May be you used them without pins (idk exactly how to call them)? As we know from geometry, 3 dots make only 1 flat surface - so if the stand contacts with the floor only with 3 pins, it can't be wobbly...

The desk is designed for hidden wiring, and for lack of space slides back to one inch from back wall, little to no rooms on side. Nobody seems to have plate for 11" x 9" monitors. I would love to build something with quality based pipes that have the screw on plates for the bottom, plus hole through back corners of desk woukd be based for pipe. Then somehow fabricate or find a plate that can easily hold the monitors. I cam lean monitors with my foam. Trying to be creative here since nobody seems to have what is needed. I can send pics, just woukd appreciate your advice, (if nothing on the market, what best materials to use, converted mic stands or pipe. Especially the plate, fabricate any idea where?
