For anyone interested in the arma star wars thing, i joined a clan some time ago, we were clones in the clone wars and it was incredible, seeing the air battles from the ground, the fear when you see 10 b2 drones appear, droideka turrets, incredible maps, very colorful, and the roleplaying possibilities are incredible, never been a die hard star wars fan but man i would salute when a jedi knight was around. I definetly recomend it

I felt the same way. I feel like the mindset of players have to change to be effective at Squad. As much as I like my K/D being awesome, sometimes objective is waaaay more important than chasing down enemies. For example, staying with a few squad members increases your chances of success by soooo much than going by yourself.

Insurgency Sandstorm FTW! Exceptional gunplay and low TTK = lots of fun As Karma said, very accessible but It's also brutal, make a bad move tactically and you're dead! (ie don't re-peek a corner if you know someone saw you, never cross an open area without smoke, alway flash before entering contested rooms, etc etc)

I love to just come online and play 1-2h some tactical shooter. Insurgency Sandstorm ticks that box. I only play hardcore checkpoint, as I like the slower movement and more tactical approach. The others are still tactical but it's more running around.

I think ground branch is good but it needs shit that sets it apart. Something I’d like to see included is realistic body destruction. I haven’t seen a FPS pull off entry/exit wounds & dismemberment the way Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising did. I remember playing that on the Xbox 360 and seeing a guy get a piece of his head contextually blown off based on the angle he was hit from, taking his helmet and spraying pieces of him on the wall. Shit was crazy.

Hell Let Loose is the best balance in a spectrum that has realistic mil-sim in one end and arcady AAA shooters in the other end. It also has a great map design that gives you the feeling that you are just a part of small platoon in a huge front but still can make a difference if you play as a team member. Devs are quite passionate and the game improved a lot since the start of the early access. The game also has a very nice and mature community always willing to help.

I'm still scratching my head wondering how Insurgency Sandstorm is chill/casual. There's far less down time compared to most other milsims that are listed here, and you've gotta be on your toes for shooters from many angles. But judging by how many Shift+W players I'm seeing, I'm pretty sure people who don't know how to actually play are calling it casual and fast-paced. Unless you're talking about just PVE or modded gameplay, of course.

Only Difference is playing with other players merely gives you a bit more immersion since that your companions are real players. But that's it. Just as fun for SP mode. Remmeber, 99% of MP gameplays are based on real players against AIs. BI truly made sure that this game was enjoyable for EVERYBODY.

Instead of Hell Let Loose, I'd rather choose Post Scriptum. Yes, the optimization is worse. Yes, less online. But! All the same, as many say - HLL is, you know, a Hollywood blockbuster. There is more realism in Post Scriptum, as for me. And the sounds of weapons are better made (In HLL they are like you hit the table with your hand). And the development of tanks is better, the developers of the PS do not make concessions for anti-tank guns, unlike the creators of the HLL. In short, my choices here are Squad and Post Scriptum.

@@helios4753 thats odd so many games like leage of legends cs go dota 2 apex dead by daylight all these games have no mod scene and are alive and well plus probably 20 more games that are huge i didnt mention

Ok So these are all decent games, with a few caveats. 1) Squad isn't as complicated as the community makes it out to be, don't be intimdated it's a video game not rocket science. 2)Arma III without mods is a boring and barebones experience, find a server/community/group of friends or don't waste your money. 3)Zero Hour is actually amazing, probably the most unique game on this list 4)HLL has an enormous problem with it's meta at the moment, but at it's core is an incredibly fun, if a bit slow paced game. Haven't played insurgency

You can download Steam on your phone and buy them that way! You won’t be able to play the games on your phone of course, but buying them still works.

@@sockscav I have Steam on my phone and I know you can buy games off of that but I have to prioritize some things before my PC arrives which includes life stuff and a monitor. I'm probably gonna use my TV for a bit but I'm gonna have to change that soon due to my TV being old and some major issues

Nobody plays mods though. Everytime there's an NA server running mods it never fills up
