My first stop when I'm round the Khaosan is either the Vietnamese noodles you went for or the biriyani at Ayeesah roddee (beef/chicken both great). There used to be a really nice khao man gai seller around there too but not sure what her schedule was or if she's still there.

I'll tell you a secret, across the road from Karim down in the river you can find a few trees. They are amphibious and there used to be a grove of them there since Ayutthaya era. They are the Lamphu trees, hence the area is Bang Lamphu. My mom worked for a government office next to that riverside park fifty years ago and she was a big fan of Karim and other Muslim food around there. The shop is every bit as good now as it was then. Joe made us proud when he used that spoon for rice!

The Roti place is next door to Yolo craft beer bar, run by a friend's friend called Fried. So I've been here ...intoxicated and stuffed my face with Roti. 😋 Loved it!

Phra Athit Road was the first place I ever stayed, back in 98. It was decent then, as a lot of uni students used to go there to eat; probably still do. Really good vid mate.

Everyone over here in England and EU are still going on about the cost of living while tapping out their complaints on am iPhone 14 pro max 😂 with food in the cupboards and shoes on their feet they have no idea what being broke is.... Crispy Fried Rice It's my favorite food. It's a very tricky meal. The main ingredients are fried dried shrimp. Kung Chiang must be mixed with sesame paste to make it crispy. Likewise, Kung Chiang must be of good quality, not too much flour. The omelette must be thin, a little long, the main vegetables, cucumber or whatever you like. Pork must be pork belly, not too big or small. Can be made into sweet pork and raw mango, a bit sour, squeezed mango, fresh chili or dried chili, like this, but it's hard to find delicious food. In the past, Moo Deng contained a lot of pork. but nowadays it turns It's more pure pork skin, the more you make porridge. If it's minced pork, it doesn't have to bounce. For me, it's more delicious.

Popular in many parts of the world, and especially common as a Thai Muslim snack in Thailand, is mataba (known around the world at murtabak or mutabbaq. It depends which countries u are in.

We’ve stayed a couple of times in Khao San Rd, which is fine (and fun), but the food is a bit meh. Mind you, there are some excellent places on Rambutri and we’ve been to both the roti and Khao yam joints and recommend them both. Need to try the other couple of places on here too. This part of town is great if you’re willing to explore the surrounding streets. Thanks again Gary 👍
