All the main villains are Xehanort and all the good guys are either some sort of version of Sora or someone who was in his heart (Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Ventus and all the princesses of heart) or they're ''connected'' to Sora. Like king Mickey and many others mention multiple times, everyone is connected to Sora somehow XP

I hate how in some scenes you see one character talking and they have a full animated face.....and then you pan over to the other character and their face is static with the mouth going "buh buh buh buh". Like why?! I can only think of two times that has happened. KH2 Cloud vs Sephiroth KHBBS Meeting Lea and Isa I'm pretty sure there are more. Let me know if there are.

Something I hate about Kingdom Hearts is that they have all these Disney and Final Fantasy characters, but they don't do anything with them, instead opting to just make the Disney worlds be so unimportant that in a plot summery, you could realistically say "*Disney worlds go here*" because most of, if not ALL the real plot development takes place in the original worlds, with a few breaks for character development and the occasional interaction, and I honestly hope that after they kill Xehanort in KH3, they play up the Disney/Final Fantasy crossover elements

Nomura said KH3 is the end of Xehanort saga, which means you kill him in KH3. Also Nomura said that there won't be any Final Fantasy worlds in KH because he wanted the worlds to not be based on any other of their franchises.

my biggest issue is that literally all issues between all the protagnaist can be solved by talking BBS could have been solved by talking KH1 any issue between Sora and Riku could have been solved via simple conversation. Sora: hey Riku have you seen Kairi? Riku: Do you even care about Kairi anymore? Sora: I did just ask about her! Riku: well you're hanging out with your new friends Donald and Goofy! Sora: yeah cause were all trying to find our lost friends come help us. Riku: yeah ok lets go find Kairi. oh and sorry for being a dick.

Was I really the only one who understood the time travel in kingdom hearts dream drop distance, it was actually a very cool and new way of time travel, and I thought it was one of the best ways of time travel that actually made sense. I hate when they have time machines because it is so boring, except back to the future, and I also hate it when they have time travel powers with no restrictions to movement through time, and they don't need to meet any requirements other then "Hey Bill I'm gonna time travel for no fucking reason, bye!"

Bland and empty overworlds, zero side quests which limits the already low replay value and the gameplay doesn't evolve throughout the game which makes it get repetitive at times and feel like a chore at other times. Other than that, it's great.

1) This makes me think of Timeless River. Is Nomura counting this as time-travel? And if so, one of the KH rules for time-travel is "there must be a version of yourself in that time period", which is why Donald, Goofy, and Pete make sense, but...Sora? Will this be clarified in KH3, or will this just be a little overlooked inconsistency in the series? 2) I am one of those people that buys systems JUST for KH. It is the entire reason I own a PSP, a DS, and a 3DS, and soon a PS4. However, this is just through my devotion to the series and speaks nothing of how annoying it gets to throw such absurd amounts of money out the door. I LOVE how KH innovates to take full advantage of the platforms it gets onto. Don't get me wrong. When a KH game is on a platform, it really goes all out to really do that platform damn good justice. Still, it is extremely expensive. 3) Honestly, this "Everybody is Xehanort" doesn't bother me. I can understand why people would find it silly, but in my own personal opinion, I like the uniqueness. It is never just "accept it without being given a reason." Yes, every character is Xehanort, but that is EXPLAINED, and that is why I am fine with it. It is a complex, deep, imaginative story. I see no reason to not love that. 4) ...Yeah, not much to be said here. The water physics were pretty annoying. Neverland at least gave the option of normal movement. Atlantica was just annoying. 'Nuff said. 5) Agreed. In the beginning, I could understand Japan getting the special treatment. KH was just starting, so it made sense. But NOW? KH is fucking huge. The support for it in other nations, like North America, is enormous!! There is no reason to treat the franchise like a Japan-centered series anymore. This is a worldwide-loved franchise. Recognize that.

It's not that hard to understand the time travelling in kingdom hearts, since there's no "butterfly effect"... Even if somebody goes back in time s/he can't change anything that's going to happen... If the "butterfly effect" could be affected, then it could be hard to understand. Xehanort just went back in time to "pick up" multiples of himself to gather in one place... Not like everyone is time travelling all the time, just one person is...

+Big Boss Because Riku was their intended target first, however, Riku's now accustomed to his darkness and and resistant, Roxas became self-aware. Sora was their last target, and Xehanort knew that Sora's light is very strong and he wouldn't fall into darkness very easily, which is why he used indirect methods to lure Sora into the darkness by trapping him and plaguing him with illusions and dreams for the purpose of weakening his heart.

David Timmer Thanks David. That much I do understand but it doesn't answer the question of why they bother with any of that. If Xehanort can time travel and pull versions of himself throughout time, why not just pick versions of his original self at different ages? Surely it'd be much easier to just pick up his 16-year-old self, 17-year-old self, etc. rather than find 13 different bodies. He already did this with the young version of his original self (YMX) and the very old version of himself (MX), why stop there? All he needed to do ensure one version of himself actually made it to the actual point in time where he wanted to execute this plan (i.e. the time of KH3D/KH3). The other 12 could just come from any instantaneous point of time in his life before then, no? Maybe I'm over thinking it.

Water physics. They can get annoying, especially when coupled with KH1's already clumsy (comparatively speaking of course) battle system. It was hard to babysit swimming up and down and dodging was significantly harder when moving in volume rather than area.

Personally I enjoyed Atlantica in KH1. In terms of navigation it was a pain but I liked the sudden change in mechanics. Also that first Ursula fight took us away from the just hit it until it dies structure of boss fights. But that's just me.

Top 5 things I don't like in Kingdom Hearts #5 Atlantica. I know cliche choice #4 Little Kingdom Hearts female characters Yeah, that one thing that bugs me. If there's one thing Kingdom Hearts needs to work on, it's getting more female characters, and no the Disney females and Final Fantasy females, don't count, because they represent their original franchises #3 Sora's Dream Drop Distance persona. Sora made me cringe a bit in Dream Drop Distance, because they kind of overplayed his naivety #2 (OK, please don't kill me for this) Roxas prologue. One word, boring. Needless padding on both gameplay which was pretty slow and some cutscenes which didn't need to be there to begin with. #1 Kairi not getting any attention in the side games. This comes as no surprise to me, but honestly Kairi needs more attention, and the reason she hasn't gotten any is because of KH2 and how the fans treated her. Kingdom Hearts 2 may be my all-time favorite, but when it was released, there was needless Kairi bashing, because she was a damsel in distress, and everybody freaked out because she got a Keyblade, and misinterpreted Sora's reaction when he saw her and Riku, so the shipping community going out of control (specifically the gay ships, Oh, my God I hate the gay ships, because of the exaggeration and the male characters have never shown romantic interest in each other. Sora and Riku: Best friends nothing more. Roxas and Axel: You're supporting Pedophilia! and again, best friends, nothing more.) may be a 1.5, see what I did there? Anyway Sorry for getting off topic, but thanks to Dream Drop Distance's secret ending, she can finally be a part of the action. Square-Enix, give Kairi more involvement, please. Don't leave her out of the limelight again. Make her a paladin or something, give her a journey of her own. and this may be me being a broken record here, but please make Sora and Kairi a couple already

+David Timmer Yeah, I agree with you big time; though, the Roxas prologue wasn't TOO bad, but yeah, it really didn't pick up until the second half (and they should have included a skip option for those who have already played it). Also, I honestly see Kairi as sort of a Magic Swordswoman along the lines of RWBY's Weiss Schnee and/or Tales of Xillia's Milla Maxwell, to distinguish her from her Predecessor, Aqua .Other than that, I totally feel for you on your points, and really hope that #4, 3, and 1 are rectified in KH3!

My only personal dislike about KH is Axel and Ansem the Wise didn't die. Heck there's alot of epic "deaths" that turned out to be false later on. Don't get me wrong I really like Axel/Lea but don't you guys think that it kinda ruins the whole "epic emotional sacrifice" moment when you find out later that they never died in the first place? Axel which was the nobody and the heartless somewhere in the world were both killed, so the original somebody was brought back which is the death system. If you had a problem with just Axel, then you have a problem with every other member of the Organization and more. They didn't have an emotional death/sacrifice moment but it's still basically the same thing.

I know that. That's why the only ones i really mentioned were Axel and Ansem the Wise because their "deaths" were dramatic. Eraqus and Riku Replica too, but we haven't seen their retun yet. I gave some thought and I think maybe Axel/Lea are two different guys even though theyre very similar. Because Axel cared about Roxas and wanted to see him again, but Lea, when he woke up he said "Roxas?" like he didnt remember or know who that was. All Lea was concerned about was Isa. Anyway, the "death" system in kingdom hearts is complicated but not enough to ruin the game for me.

Japan getting games first is a very common thing across a lot of games since they have time to fix up errors and glitches on its original release , thats one of the reasons KH is always released later on , that and the English dubbing does take time since they need the complete footage to use for the dub like in anime.

This is a tiny thing, but I hated in the Mullan level of KH2 how you had to do three missions for the army: an ambush, assault, and defend (or something along those lines) and they were all the same mission. Just instantly appear in an arena and fight the dudes. They couldn't have switched it up with a mini game or make you fight with certain allies. The ambush for example. Have it start with you jumping up to a high location and then make you wait as the enemy passes you by until you press the triangle button to begin the ambush. Or have a mission where you face hundreds of heartless and you have to run from rocket to rocket in order to fire it into the crowd before leaping back into the fray.

I for one like it when time travel gets added to a story, it adds another "dimension" for lack of a better word or term. And I like complex stories, it's an great feeling when you go "oh, that's connected to that!" When your thinking about a story. Or when you're watching, playing or reading something (yes I game AND read sue me : P ) and something happens that connects some of if not everything in the current story! But then again maybe that's just me. To each their own and all that. PS, was that Vanitias with young Xehanort near the end?! What game is that? I don't remember that in dream drop distance.

Totally agree with the first two. Time travel felt like a lazy addition to explain a lot of stuff away. And I too bought whole new game systems specifically for Kingdom Hearts. However, the Xehanort thing doesn't bother me too bad. Especially since it's been confirmed that KH3 will be the end of the Xehanort saga. One big problem on my list is KH Re:coded. Easily the worst game of the series as far as gameplay and story is concerned.

It's funny how my top 3 worlds in Kingdom Hearts 1 are ones that fans kinda hated. 3: Deep Jungle 2: Atlantica 1: Neverland Everybody loves Neverland, but I adored Deep Jungle and Atalntica! What I don't like about KH series is how confusing the overall story became since KH2. I know I'm beating a dead horse from this but the story became so convoluted that newcomers will easily scratch their heads while even hardcore fans will shout "WTH is going on?". The franchise is quite lucky that the gameplay and levels they feature is consistently good.

One issue that comes to mind is for newcomers(and for the veteran fans from the beginning of the series). They do not know about the Ultimania's(along with Nomura's other interviews) for secrets not explained in the story of that game along with other facts. Back in 2007, I was fortunate enough to find them. All I had to do was go back and read 5 years worth of interviews to get caught up on everything released. Now in 2015, 13 years later, you'd probably say, what's the point now? lol

One of the big things I did not like abut the series is the fact that I had to buy more consoles just for keeping the entire series. Gladly, at least there are the remixes. 1. I wasn't surprised that time travel was in KH3D due to a "form" of it being in KH1, COM, KH2, Coded(I'm making a stretch here due), and BBS(if you want to include Young Xehanort battle). 2. Yes, KH games have been on multiple systems, but important things that should be remembered is that Nomura was hesitant on releasing COM on GBA because he wanted the game in 3D(Re:COM later on PS2), and that he didn't think the games would sell because the fan base was on PlayStation. The game did sell, which is why the rest of the games released on Nintendo handhelds(aside from Coded, which Nomura wanted it to be on mobile phones and X[Chi]). Birth by Sleep was originally being released on PS2, but due to the Osaka team working on Re:COM, and the PS3 already out, they made the decision to release it on PSP. Of course, you see that all the Nintendo games are being re-released on PlayStation for many reasons Nomura has already explained. 3. It's not called the Xehanort saga for nothing. lol 4. Wonderland is my most hated world followed by Atlantica, and Deep Jungle. I cry when I want to replay KH1, but then remember I have to go through Wonderland again. 5. KH is a Japanese developed game. Japan should get the games first unless they feel like giving a worldwide release(of course, many inside stuff can prevent a worldwide release). Don't want to be spoiled on the story? Stay off KH related videos so they won't end up on your recommended videos even though it's not 100% perfect. lol Let's not forget that the overseas version of KH games that get Final Mix(KH1, 2, BBS) had extra content that Japan never originally got, hence the Final Mix games getting even more content.

Honestly, what bugs me is that for the union mobile game, everyone outside of Japan are given the left over stuff from 6 months ago and those in japan or with the Japan version are seemingly pampered. When you were talking about the multi consoles I think I was luck on some parts. 1 the advance, I got that when my brother stop using it. 2 DS, Birthday present. 3 3DS, got because of pokemon which helped my get motivated on getting Dream Drop Distance. My number 1 complain about this serie is what happened to the storyline. Every game made it more and more complicated, every little spin off added a buttload of story , and instead of clarifying questions from previous games, it just added more and more until it became a real maze to understand , even for a hardcore fan. Furthermore, just think about all the people who didn't play all the spin offs, and are just gonna skip from Kingdom Hearts 2 to 3 : how the fuck are they gonna catch up with everything ? And yeah, time travel in the last entry is what killed it for me, let's hope Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the great hit we are all expecting and fixes the global confusion this serie has fallen into.

One of the problems I've recently noticed is that ever since KHI, the characters have not been developed nearly as well. From CoM onward (with the exception perhaps of KHII), I feel that the games started relying too heavily on the plot to drive the story. That's not to say the characters are badly drawn in any way, or that their motivations are unclear, but I think the story SHOWED them better in the first game. Like the racing minigame showing Sora and Riku's conflict on Destiny Islands, or the drawing in the cave of Sora and Kairi sharing a paupu fruit. Little but important moments and details like those give the characters depth, and make you feel like they have a life outside of their quest. But in the recent games, it seems like their quest has been the primary thing that defines them, which is disappointing.

Most of my biggest concerns with the series were address in the vid, but for me there are 2 other things I still find as a bit of a problem: 1) The need for final mixes: While I can understand companies wanting to release extra content for their games whether due to demand or wanting more sales, when it gets to the point that you expect there to be a remix for every kingdom hearts game that there might as well be no point buying the original game until the remix comes out, it just becomes needless and frustrating. If you planned to release all of this cut content from the original game regardless, then why not just of put it in the original release? Leave the remixes to content such as the hd releases of other platform games from the series, or to small chapters like the coming story for Aqua, but leave the original game's content to the original release unless it ends up diminishing it in some way. 2) Kairi and Sora's character development: During a majority of kh1 and 2, Kairi has seen barely any development as a character; she is either used as a plot point to push the story along, or gets barely any screentime to the point when something significant does come up for her, it just feels out of nowhere and jarring. With Sora, although it is my understanding that his character is suppose to be ordinary, his progress as a character has not really changed much since KH2, and quite frankly I am quite tired of the later games in the series making him nothing but the butt of the other characters jokes as the typical "naive, stupid but kind of heart" trope. Basically, I want Kairi and Sora to get the riku treatment, as he is in my opinion the only one of the trio who has gone through the most development throughout a majority of the games, to the point where I feel he is more of a protagonist then Sora, the games actual protagonist. Do they need a drastic of a treatment as Riku? No. But Riku's growth throughout the series alone is proof that they can do character development well, and right.

1. I gotta say, when it comes to time-travel aspects in games and movies. The best thing to do is to keep an open mind about it. Don't try to piece it all together till you have the "full-picture". In which, for the KH community won't happen till KH3 is released, where we will finally have those, "ah-ha" moments. Considerably, SE has done a pretty good job painting this picture up to the end of DDD and the start of KH3, even with the aspects of time-travel being implemented. (Although, I am still confused on exactly HOW Xehanort brought all those renditions of himself to that one-point in time. Even still, how is Y. Xehanort included as one of the 13, when he has to return back to his origin point and grow up into one of the other Xehanorts. Then there would only be 12-Sora(11). He's still missing two other seekers of darkness from this point-of-view). {I guess I touched on 3. xD ... agreed on the Xehanort thing} 4. I am with you on the water-world idea. I 100% absolutely loved Atlantica in KH1. I admit that the controls were awkward, but I picked them up well and it made flying in Neverland easy for me. Honestly, Atlantica is probably my favorite Disney character world in KH1. However, what they did to Atlantica in KH2 was horrendous. I was so excited when I saw it appear on the world map for the first time... only for that excitement to be turned into bitter resentment on having to play, "push X at the right time or Ariel will be sad!" 5-6 times over the course of the game. Ariel freaking threw lightning bolts at Heartless in the last game, and now she nothing more than a "plot" object. Fantastic...
