Thank you sir! And yeah an M54 would be a huge upgrade over the M40. I’ve driven a Japanese E30 318i with the M40 and there is...room for improvement. Lol.

Good info. Planning on doing an S54 swap down the road on my second e30. Did an M62TU swap on my last e30 and it was an animal but I would like to retain power brakes this time around and stay with 6 cylinders.

Thank you! The S54, you can get away with powered brakes if you either use a custom booster or iX/944 booster or if you modify the S54 plenum. KasselMotorsports does that work. It’s a blast tho! I think it’s a tiny bit faster than my E92 M3. Lol

@@MeccaWerks I believe it! My v8 swap was about neck and neck with a E90 M3. Good to know about the booster options. I used Kassel to tune my ecu. I see them do a bunch of s54 stuff too

2 questions for you that I'm trying to figure out for my build. What did you do for the brake booster since the plenum won't clear the factory booster? And what about wiring? Thanks man, I have my old S54 in my garage I want to rebuild and swap it into my newly acquired e30 sedan.

With the rising costs of the s54, what say you about a m60 swap maybe supercharged? Great videos man keep it up!

Thank you!!! I think the torque of the M60 would make up for not having the S54. With it being supercharged, you’ll have a loooot of fun in it! Plus the sound of the German V8 is hard to beat.

ESR SR005 17x8.5/9.5 ET32/25 with 10mm spacer in rear (sent me wrong offset wheels) supposed to be ET32/15. On 215/45 and 235/40.
