Kauai is the best of the islands in my opinion. It’s essential island life that really gives the feel of being in paradise on a Little Rock in the middle of nowhere. Literally one road with a land going each way around the outside of the island and you get to a point north enough where it just ends and you have to turn around and go back. I still miss it and look forward to returning. I’ve been to Oahu since then only because the travel is easier for just a week stay coming from NYC. It’s an additional stop and flight to kauai either from the west coast or Oahu, whereas you can fly straight to Oahu from Newark or JFK, so an additional six hours each way cuts a whole half day off the trip. However, I found I had a great time in Oahu last time and it exceeded our expectations and previous experiencees. We went in December and had great empty beaches on the area north east of Waikiki

Thanks so much! Unless there is sign that says you can't I don't believe its an issue. You can always check with local people, or park regulations and rules online!
@surrogatemarker4 жыл бұрын
All National parks and all Hawaii state parks prohibit the use of drones.. just because you don’t see a No Drones sign does not make it legal.. that said, it’s up to you if you want to risk having a ranger confiscate your drone and give you an expensive citation. When I was there I saw two guys flying a drone in Waimea canyon have their drone confiscated, both were handcuffed and driven off in the back of a US park rangers SUV.

Anyone going to kauai should avoid the “dinner cruise” day trips they try to sell. It’s way too long, the water is so rough people were puking off the side of the boat the whole time, and we couldn’t even eat or drink the shitty food and drinks they offered. I couldn’t tell if I was sea sick or just had swallowed so much salt water that whipped in my face for hours. I suspect many will agree. By the time we stopped for the sunset on the way back I was ready to jump and swim ashore to get the F off of the thing
@TheJourneyest20163 жыл бұрын
Dang I’m sorry you had a bad experience. Our guide was extremely gentle. We only had a total of 7 on the boat including the guide. He stayed near the shore as much as possible to avoid the rough waves. It was really nice. Maybe the group you went with wasn’t so nice?
@andrewjackson26773 жыл бұрын
The Journey the boat was full. Much more than seven! The water was so choppy that the fronts of the boat was often submerged, and the water was whipping those of us in the front (no where else to sit) of the boat so hard that we swallowed it and took a beating. Everyone there hated it and I spoke to people in napa (we went there on the way back) who mentioned the one thing they didn’t like about kauai was this boat 😆. I didn’t even solicit their opinion. We took an Uber back to our resort hotel with another couple and the girl said she dressed in nice clothes to get cute pictures and didn’t realize she needed a pancho 😂. I was literally ready to jump and swim ashore when they finally stopped for the sunset on the way back! I’m happy to hear at least you had a good time. We were also close to the shore but it didn’t help much! Maybe it’s the time of year for rough waters, or just that particular day, even. We went the last week of June to July fourth, for what that’s worth. I always try to mention this to people only because it’s a full half day experience and it’s a waste if not fun. I actually grew up with sail boats and spending summers on the lake, but since this trip seeing boats just reminds me of that sea sickness in Kauai, 😂m at the expense of sounding like a drama queen. I will be forever leery of small boat experiences on future vacations! It ended up working out, as the Uber driver recommended the hike at the end of the north shore that we wouldn’t have done if we had known how extreme is was, since we were looking to just relax while there, but I was very happy to have done it once we did. The over night hike trail is amazing, and if my wife had known how the trail leads to a slim cliff we wouldn’t have done it, but I thankfully have that experience under my belt now

The Journey Hey Mahalos for your reply. You got some good footage and did some fun stuff on one of the most Magical Islands in the world, you’ve also got a really cool name for your channel. I just don’t think it was thorough enough to be taken as a legit travel guide if you did not take the time to learn some of the rich history, culture, and the basics of a beautiful Native language and it’s proper pronunciation. All throughout history, people have come to Hawaii to take what they can from it without giving something back and showing respect for the Aina (Land) and it’s people & culture. I know you’re just having fun, but look at it from another perspective, Hawaiians have always seen Haoles (Outsiders or Foreigners) come and take, without showing reverence and respect and a deep love for its culture and people... that is part of the Aloha Spirit- deep respect and love and appreciation for all that Hawaii has to offer. That is a big part of The Journey also. I’m just sayin you could’ve done a little more research and showed a little respect for how to pronounce the places names and it would have come across as a lot more legitimate of a travel recommendation. That’s just my input, maybe I was a little sharp in how I phrased it, sorry if you took offense, and if it seemed harsh. Either it will open your eyes to try harder next time or you will dismiss it and take nothing from it... either way, Aloha and mele Kelikimaka 🤙🏼 Oh, and I did get quite a good laugh out of “... those cool Hawaiian hand gestures!” LOL 😂🤙🏼
