Back in the early 80's, when I was 10, and lived out in the country in Houston TX, We lived by a Cow paster, Well I had seen some guys out there doing some odd stuff so followed them all day, They were survey the ground for OIL for SHELL Company, by the time they were done, I was about 7 or 8 miles out, and A Helicopter landed to pick the 3 guys up and ask me if I wanted a RIDE, lol, said heck yea, we flew around for a while and dropped off stuff for other crews and then I was dropped off in my back yard. BEST RIDE I HAVE EVER HAD TO THIS DAY, AT age 56.. I will never forget that day EVER.

If you two are still in NY, the striped bass fall migration is happening out here at Montauk! Cody could catch a big one EASY, there’s a lighthouse, great restaurants and a campground at Hither Hills. Give it a look! 👋🏼
@JeffJensen554 ай бұрын
We visited the Canadian side when I was twelve (58 years ago). At that time there was a tunnel that went behind the falls that opened to the back side of the falls. Also, years before that the Maid of the Mist went in behind the falls (or so I was told at the time). Lovin’ your adventures. Some are places I’ll likely not get to - some bring back great memories. ❤❤

What a great video! The falls were even more spectacular than I ever imagined. Those boat tours were so cool! And the helicopter would’ve been my favorite. I’ve had the opportunity to be flown a lot in helicopters by the Texas Highway Patrol during my law enforcement career with another agency (I’m now retired). One day as we were flying along I was asking the trooper pilot a gazillion questions about the flight controls and he was really going into great detail about how it all worked. He explained the cyclic, the pedals, the throttle, and when he got to the collective he said, “This thing is really cool. When you pull up on this handle, the houses get really small. When you push it back down they get big again.” 😂🤣

We had stayed on Put-in-Bay (Lake Erie) for a few days, then drove up Hwy 5 along the coast all the way into Buffalo - which goes through the industrial center of the city. What an unexpected and funky experience. It is home to the largest flour mill in the world (General Mills). We could have stopped in and taken the tour, which may have included a free box of Cheerios !

You should go see the Butterfly conservatory on the Canada side, then go north. See the Floral clock, and continue to the village of Niagara by the Lake. If you go to the city park on the south shore of Lake Ontario, on a clear day, you can see the skyline of Toronto 32 miles across the lake! Niagara on the Lake is on the Canadian side of the Niagara river opposite the 1st State Park in America, Niagara State Park! In Toronto, it is worth seeing Casa Loma. You can explore this castle.

As a child back in the 70's my parents would bring us to Niagra falls every summer on the Canadian side. My mom's cousins lived there. Loved the beautiful park's and the skylon tower the one with the yellow minions (elevators) on the outside. Not sure what they call it now. Clifton Hill was the main attraction with all the wax museums, Riplies believe it or not ect. It has build up a lot in all these years. Hope you're able to see the falls at night. So beautiful with the lights shining on them. Thanks for bringing back the memories and bringing us along for the ride! Happy trails 🤗🏕💕
