Top the first 4 - 5 branches as in as it gets taller Top that new side branch and tie those branches down 20 main Tops + and use the biggest pot you can fit in the area ,small pots are just saying NO to yield a good AIRY soil/medium so you can feed more often/water and adjust if over or under your desired ppm , the reason i say Airy Soil is because in there natural environment the ground they grow in is all new leaf litter and branches and other plant matter breaking down and has a lot of space between the medium and other parts of the medium , Cannabis has generally a shallow root zone because of this.

Good info for a newer aspiring grower like me. Did my first seasonal outdoor grow from last march on until October and liked the process and my modest 8 oz four plant crop so much I decided to set up for autoflowers between seasonal outdoor grows and will be trying your tips out for sure. Lots of mistakes for both the outdoor and autoflower grows but also lots of learning and fun along the way as well. I grow with dry organic amendments, and you guys are right. Once you see a deficiency, it's too late. So what I started doing was brewing tea every week, especially after top-feeding my girls. That way, you will rarely have any deficiencies....Also, you want to add water to the plant saucers underneath your plants once they're 5 to 7 inches tall. That way, your roots will go deeper into your pot, looking for water. That's what leads to bigger plants.
@Highigan3 жыл бұрын

@dtwistrewind73613 жыл бұрын
The dust although not toxic to the plant can greatly reduce the photosynthesis of light to leaf, if you are not deep into flower I would advise tilting the plant and rinse of with plain ph'ed water to restore full photosynthesis.

I find DWC ends up with more consistent excellent results. People say that DWC is complicated, but I find it easier. You just pH the water, measure your fertilizer for the water, change the water every two weeks and you don’t have to read the plants very much. Once the plants are big I do top off the water every two days. You end up with at least twice the yield of organically grown plants.

Yeah to much watering can def effect the plants, stunting early on usually leads to a longer grow or when we see autos going past 84 days.

To much watering doesn't let the roots grow down and out to find moisture. You do need to let seedlings stay moist with small doses of water, but then allow those roots to travel farther for what they want.

Organic nutrients are tricky especially top amendments they take longer for the plant to process so a common mistake is feeding your plants and 2 or 3 days no visible results so you feed some more and then the next day or two you wake up check your plants and their burnt and darker green than Astro turf when using organic dry amendments you have to be patient give it at least a week for the plant to break it down then you’ll see results.

@@Highigan the way I like to use my compost tea’s is kinda like a fuel to a fire with the soil being my fire. The amendments are more like the wood. The wood burns great when you add it to the fire, but a little compost tea to fuel the fire can really help. I've had somewhat mixed results with this, each grow I've done I always have 2 of the same strain from same breeder but I train each differently, one LST only, no deleafing, no topping no cutting off the lower nodes, and one plant I do top and prune etc. Each strain is different, out of 10 strains only 3 actually did better for me with topping etc, glueberry, amnesia haze and northern lights. But that's knowledge gained next time I grow those strains that's why i personally do it. Overall I like LST for autos better, I'll bend them over at 4" and work them to the edge of the pot and keep wiring them down around the edge of the pot, the amount of main colas becomes fantastic.

Interesting. Depending on the vigor of the seedling, ill top or train. I'll top the 4th node, usually by day 21 if the plant is growing well, otherwise ill just train the plant. I have only stunted the plant by transplanting too late. If im going to start in solo cups ill make sure to transplant by week 2.

My photo strains are more vibrant for sure. I'm giving it 18-20 hrs of light too with just a water mist & a saucer under the solo cup with a small amount of h20. Foliar feed autos, the nutrient uptake is faster.. Focus on maintaining healthy soil and on foliar feeds during veg.. Spray compost tea, coconut water, etc. and have organic liquid nute on site to combat deficiencies quickly(you don't need a heavy dose, just quick uptake).. Probably be spray every 3 days.. This is just an idea, I have tried this but that's what I'll be ready for.

First thing I wish I would’ve known about autos is that they’re A novelty selling point not worth wasting your time growing. This is 15 years of experience speaking. You’re not getting faster or easier bud. You are just getting lower quality. You could veg your photos out and flip them in the same amount of time. The only benefit you’re looking at he’s not having to flip or worry about your light schedule being interrupted. If you’re mowing to invest time and money into growing one might as well not take any risk and go for the highest quality possible. There’s not a worse feeling than wasting all those weeks on some low quality bud it’s really not satisfying. I’ve tried hydroponics, auto flowers, synthetic fertilizers, organics, 2 gallon pots, 7 gallon pots, dozens of breeders. Everyone has different preferences and climates but for the most part the best route Is an organic living soil grow with Gaia green amendments earth worm castings, Michorizzae, and some form of manure, top dress every four weeks. And you pointed out another con for me. There’s no correcting an auto flower. It’s the roots at the bottom of the pot and it goes into flower before it even has two nodes, or you overwater, underwater, overfeed, underfeed. PH wrong. It’s over. No fixing it. With all of the amazing genetics flooding the market I find it hard to understand how the auto flower industry is still striving other than amateur growers who bought into the idea of novelty. I would much rather take this very little effort of flipping my lights and having control over light leaks, especially having control over veg time. There is nothing more frustrating than an auto that produces you a quarter ounce of bulk and you spent go to $15 a seed and wasted up to three months of your life on. I’ve maybe had two out of a dozen auto flowers that were worth growing. And those numbers aren’t good enough for me

Did you ever have an Auto that didn't Flower when all the others did ? I guess again it's genetics ... I had to flip the switch on it with the other autos in the tent because I only have one tent (2x4) and it was getting bigger than the others. Once I flipped it started to flower. But here's my question .. can I flip back to 18 -6 or just keep it at 12-12 ?

@@johnnysanchez4996 It depends on a number of things: medium, pot size, whether indoor or out, light intensity. @@lewisisdaman what happened lol
@lewisisdaman2 жыл бұрын
@@danielfleming4066 hey :) thanks for the follow up. So that run of seeds/plants was a total fuck up on my behalf. Rushed into it and fucked my soil mix up. Waaaaay too much coco coir and not enough of much else so the soil became too dense in the pots after only a few waterings/feedings. This led to nutrient lock and suffocating dwarf plants. I let one of the gorilla punch plants finish up fully from it's extremely stunted full height of around 4 or 5 inches tall. I let both gorilla punch finish but one was significantly fatter than the other. Although it was tiny and it pretty much just produced one very fat nug, it was beautiful! Would definitely grow gorilla punch properly if given the chance again and I would recommend it to new growers. It's genetics put up with so much noob abuse that her heritage deserves some reparations! 😂😂 I saw what I had I done wrong with these little ones and learnt from it for the next seed. Luckily around the time of this run I also planted a seed of candy Kush by Autoseeds into 3 gallons of a very healthy alive soil mix I prepared myself. I did this because I realized what my problem was. I LST'd the Candy kush at around week 4 and it produced over 2 oz from one plant. It did end up with around 30 colas on it though. No SCROG net used. Just a fuck load of strong colas holding their heads up high. So the candy Kush plant grew well. When you are a newbie like me it's all about getting the basics 100% correct first (hint:putting the seed or seedling into decent soil is a good place to start!). I currently have a free seed from 420 fastbuds (gorilla cookies) in it's 5th week. It is growing beautifully in only a 5 litre pot. So far so good bro but those first couple plants struggled! Edit: spelling Second edit: you might be interested to know that even though the gorilla punch plants were nutrient locked for most of their lives, they both finished up EXACTLY when they were advertised to! That's the weirdest part. Even though these girls were only a couple inches high they stuck to their genetic clock like an atom! Bang on 8 weeks they were finished (even though they were tiny!). So even when some plants go through extreme stress or extreme lack of nutrients/oxygen etc. for ages they can still somehow keep perfect track of time. The two gorilla punch plants looks weirdly healthy when finished too. Just such a shame they were so tiny!!!!

R/o water, don't let dry out (can't overwater in coco:) ph6.3 to 6.6 (gets to uptake different nutes and prevents all deficiencies).
