My favorite art tip is “push through the ugliness of the drawing, don’t stop just because it looks ugly at the beginning”. Best advice I’ve ever received
@argmarc3 жыл бұрын
Love this tip! Or alternatively: Get really good at drawing ugly stuff, and use this to accumulate skills to finally draw something pretty in the end... ...This is kind of a joke, but i like the thought!

Otherwise known as: Trust the process! It'll get there eventually!
@emilias86183 жыл бұрын
Yes this is great advice! I mean I trust the process, but people (aka my fam and friends) sometimes look at me while I’m drawing and just cringe and I can tell they think it’ll turn out bad, so there’s always that little twinge of annoyance when I tell them to trust the process lol

A tip that really brought some life into my paintings is: The Contrast Colour. It basically means that you choose one thing that is suppossed to stand out. For example: Your Charakter has a warm skintone, soft brown hair and has generally very warm colours. And then you give them piercing cold blue eyes.

-- MY ART TIP-- : Once you decide where the light source is and you want to shade your object don't just shade the object with different shades of the same colour.Instead take note of the colour of the light, if the light is yellow for instance, highlight the rim where light touches the object with a sharp yellow and then fade it to orange and then to the original colour. It's a very basic tip but starting out I never really took notice of it.This has helped me a lot with creating a more realistic atmosphere in my paintings :)

“Good artists copy, great artists steal.” - Picasso. No that doesn’t mean claiming someone else’s art as your own. Being an artist means learning from those who came before you. Very few things in the art world is original now. Artists are always pulling inspiration from each other, just like how Ross has a mood board! Lot’s of artists we like used other artists’ techniques while they were learning. But do we just use it once and not use it again (borrowing) or do we keep at it (steal)? Hope this makes sense.
@rei_ikko4 жыл бұрын
Anglo Saxon I think what copy and steal means is that, if you copy, you do it the exact same way with no modification, whereas if you steal, you make it your own. In my opinion, if you copy another artist’s techniques or style, you do it exactly the same but it’s still someone else’s. If you steal it, you make it your own and maybe make modifications or apply it into your own style, which makes it your own technique or style and not directly mimicking someone else. I hope what i said makes sense! Good luck to all the artists or aspiring artists out there!

My favourite art tip is: never give up even when you're struggling. It's my favourite because there was a time I wanted to stop drawing because I haven't been doing any progress but then I watched video that helped me realize that progress isn't straight line up... instead it's a line that goes up then it stops and after some time of studying and practicing it goes again up. Then it repeats and repeats and repeats...

My favorite tip: Becoming the character you're making. I find this to really improve character design because it makes you think deeper about what that character's personality would be, and thus, what they look like. The clothes and pose come with personality which you can channel better if you become the character in your head.

My Favorite art tip or piece of advice I have received would be to sketch loose, and to rough in ideas. I used to draw very stiff, searching for the perfect line with every stroke, and it resulted in a negative headspace while drawing. Not only did it stop me mentally from getting my piece to where it needed to be, but it also resulted in stiffer images. By far one of the better tips i`ve ever heard and had nearly instant success.

My favorite art tip is : PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE to build a strong(er) ART foundation -- Pick up where you left from. Even though I've gone on hiatus several times, practicing art or just making those simple exercises with lines and shapes really helped. Having a strong foundation of art is about as important as its result. So just continue to PRACTICE, until the concepts and ideas get embedded onto you. Artist's block happens, but don't let it stop you. Practice with the basics in the meantime. [Thank you, Ross, for showing us different perspectives!]

Colour, haptics, light and shadow, forms, proportions or perspective. It made my pieces so much more interesting and unique, wich also really helped me to find myself as an artist. My favorite art tip is more of a mentality one, and its, "Its ok to fail, thats the only way to improve, so just aim to fail and do it big!" i think most of us always want to be the best we can, but the thing is, that in order to be the very best, you first need to suck super hard, BUT the quicker you are at sucking and fixing your mistakes, the quicker youll improv, so dont be afraid of failing since thats only one step in the right direction of being the best you can be
@ronadrian60074 жыл бұрын
Idk this is kinda weird but my favorite one so far is "aim to fail". It really did leave an impact on my creativity like im now able to experiment freely on my drawings without feeling anxious that i might mess it up because I know I have to fail it smartly for me to be able to pinpoint my mistakes and learn from it and move on to another artwork cancelling those mistakes, and again and again. Because I dont think that Im so big and so tough.
