You created this several years ago but I had never seen ( at least that I remember) the technique to push the cards into the fleshy part of your thumb to create a gap. A good explanation and something I will be using now. Thanks. Ed

By far this is my flavorite tutorial on the fundamentals of card magic. These points you give out and tips you pointed out were phenomenal. When people ask how to better their flip i always say make it look like you flipped one card, i also tell them get to the point where you dont have to look to do a double. Like you said with crowd control if you make eye contact psychologically they will look up so if you have a sloppy double you can get away with it. Even a step back even takes the attention away feom the cards. This concept is called framing and of youre really into street and close up magic definitely look into it. Also i have probably one of the most plain looking doubles, little stiff in some videos, but even when Rise talked about doing it the same every time you gotta think who youre performing for. magicians or everyday people. Too many times i see magicians perform for magicians and they try to overkill flair to the effects or make it difficult to follow. My philosophy is performing the simplest way possible. No need to bust knuckles over a crazy move if theres an easier one you can do. Overall loved these tips and for aspiring magicians, keep practicing!

good vid. liked the first tip and last tip the most. my tip would be if you need a get ready for the double lift. Learn the pinky count. It is quick, virtually unnoticeable for the spectators, because of almost no hand/finger movement can be used for other things as well not only D.L. and is very angle proof. well worth the muscle ache to learn it.

Pinky pulldown best get ready, but mine isn't perfect everytime sometimes get triples or even more. I usually push top card over and back catch the pinky break than pulldown for one card square up with the double break. I found the single card push off and back tilted correctly can hide my pulldown really well.

About number 3, pinkie count is literally the best get ready. It is about a year since i learned the pinkie count and honestly, i never used any other get ready since then. I agree that it is a knack to learn, but it is totally worth it.

My favorite: deck in mechanics except the index is curled under the deck, pressing onto it. count down 2 cards with your thumb and then put your index finger into the gap created. then press down on the deck with your thumb an you´ll get an easy pinky.

Personally I use the pinky count, and I do a weird little credit card swipe with my thumb to square it up. It's kinda fancy looking, but I turn over a single card the same way. It works and I like it. That's what's important to me at least.

The 2nd way at 4:55 isn't super easy. I can't even get the cards to separate at bottom very much & even if I could, it's not super easy to count & hold cards without suspicion. I've been trying to get it & many other lifts are way easier.

I'd recommend just holding a break while u flip the cards the first time

All your focus should have been on showing how to manipulate the deck. Sense the DL is the most used slight in card magic. We all need to know the pushoff DL because you will be doing this while the crowd is burning your hands. Cant get around it. Get the DL down so you can do it in plan site

I agree on what you said about not overproving things. But in my highscool which is mostly scientific focused(high level). And so its really hard to fool them with things like DL and controls for even if they dont see it they might suspect it. But thats an excelent way for me to practice because if i managed to perform a trick well from them means i got it down well. In such envirommemt your performance style and crowd management is way more important that what method you are doing and how you do them. Though using different sorts of effects like card magic,coin magic , mentalism really fools them hard :D keep up the great content. Congratz on 30k sub. Very well deserved
@cerouxaud14926 жыл бұрын
To perform to skeptic people you have to adapt your routine, focusing more on the patter and the misdirection than on the sleight. Card to mouth is something they will love because they will stare at "their" card until the end and in the end it's still appeared in your mouth. Don't present it as a trick but as something magical, mysterious.

Let us repent from our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior one day we will face him and those who doesn't repent from there sins and didn't accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior would be sent to hell for he didn't want God so he will go to place where God is nowhere to be found but the good news is this Jesus has already died for you so you don't have to suffer hell all you need to do is accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and repent from your sins you will be saved that Is the good news my friends that salvation is free thats all ask me if your confused at something God bless you
