I just ordered the timer. Sounds like a fun game. Thank you. I once had dart board targets and we would play cricket but of course with arrows. Great fun and practice.

I have never tried this in archery , riding motorcycles over the years I use to always wear ear plugs with my helmet on to protect my hearing ! I found a number of other benefits that correlates to your post on wearing ear protection . Removing one of your senses does improve other senses by removing white noise you are actually able to hear things that are the most important to you . On a motorcycle I could hear cars coming up next to me at highway speed , riding on the limits of the tires you could feel the tires starting to slip on the pavement , long rides were much less fatiguing ! I’m going to try the ear plugs next time I shoot ! Thanks for all the tips !

I shoot 3m at a foam target in our living room at the moment. 6 targets on an A4 sheet roughly to scale. 72 arrows every day, moved up from 30#, to 32# and now just started 34# a couple days ago. So when the filed opens: 70m here i come! (After i tune as 4# extra will need some rework and time for a good/new set of arrows) I have made one change to the scoring system. I score where the center of the arrow is, when in doubt i score down for the simple reason that the target face is scaled down to shooting at 3 meters but the arrows are still in 18 meter setting. So they are roughly 26mm on the target face hitting 3 rings all the time :) Center scoring is the fair method and keeps room for improvement as with normal rules i kept hitting high scores. Once i get used to the 34# i'll start playing with the timer, sounds fun. Radio is on most of the time and had a session with Infected Mushroom playing on my head set as a training to sense the clicker but will pay attention to the faceclick :) Thanks! And stay safe all!

For obvious reasons I now shoot at 3m. My favourite is 12 2 inch circles 2 inches apart drawn on cardboard. You then shuffle down the shooting line one shot at a time so you keep the same angle. The plus point is the circles sit nicely inside the sight ring, and ideally never get obliterated. And you do get the whole shot formwise.

Love the dot one, when I'm shooting my blank I aim for specific arrow holes in the target try to re sink the arrow which is audibly satisfying as well

Aren't ear plugs forbidden during champion ships? So maybe its good to train shooting with loud surrounding and get used to? Sometimes we play loud pop music during training at our club.

I suggested training with ear plugs, not competing with them.

Only have your arrows hit in the X ring. It’s as easy as that!

I can't shoot with ear plugs. I need to hear when other archers call "clear" etc.

Should change the title to include the word Olympic or Recurve competition. Do not whatever you do plug your ears at a club, it's dangerous as if someone shouts fast, you are not gonna hear it!
