If you're below Tier 45 and find it hard to stop convoys cause the AI do so little damage you should try to pit maneuver the vehicles. Basically you just hit the back corner of the vehicle off the road and the passengers and driver should hop out if you push them far enough. I would recommend doing this in a truck as they have more health and have more power to bash the vehicles out of its way. Just a friend trying to help another.

If you reach Tier 40, the game will give you Desert Tech HTI, with highest damage, about twice normal HTI, with build-in suppressor, it can 1 shot armored vehicle

I use the EMP drone to stop the vehicles, kill all escorts with upgraded HTI (although it should work with the regular HTI), and then I run up to the vehicle and pull the driver out. I'll then go around the vehicle and kill the passenger, or if I'm on the passenger side I'll kill him first, then run up to the vehicle. This works most of the time, but your shot placement needs to be spot on, and you'll need to do it quickly; if you wait too long the driver of the truck will be able to move again, and if you get engaged you won't be able to blow up the escorts, because the occupants will come out, Zerg rush you, and insta-kill you. Also, fuck Unidad, every time I see a Unidad vehicle I blow it up, because they WILL fuck it all up.

A lot of people have their own strategies. Myself, I've always preferred to take them down in a chase vehicle, and yeah I try to pit the escort vehicles, especially if I mind myself in the position to pit one into a tree. I'm only Tier 45, but noticing the convoys getting much tougher. Still haven't lost one yet, but they can get a bit hairy in provinces like Flor de Oro or Libertad with so many Unidad about, eager to get involved in my business lol

Darkdally single handedly revitalized my spark for this game. There are many many mindset approaches to how to play this "game" but i prefer the simulator approach and when challeged with ghost mode and even tier mode, it makes me want to play more seriously. People want to gripe about every mission being the same but honestly ask yourself IRL how different ways are there to handle objectives. All im saying is i've found my niche and i love when i kill, complete objectives and also repsect when ive been killed cause its my own impulsivity and impatience that got me there.

Number 6(ish): Levelling up weapons does not increase your weapon damage. It actually increases your critical hit chance, with a level 30 weapon having 100% CHC. A critical hit does double base damage... The Damage bar is simply a representation of projected average DPS in a particular given set of circumstances.

there's an apache helicopter at the hormiguero base that's easy to take. it's on the north west side of the marcus jensen missions. Also, the convoys are easier to take if you attack them on switchbacks.

My favourite pass time is storming in a unidad base and killing everyone, then wait for the reinforcements and spam frag while next to a ammo resupply. I have killed over 400 unidad soldiers in one single base raid/camping

I'm tier 34 and I think the highest multiplier combo for max tier points is Enemy Killed, Undetected, Headshot, and Long Distance. I think long distance is for kills 500m+. It's hard to do and it really pushes stealth, but I exclusively play long distance stealth anyway and I'm just blowing through tier mode.

Easiest way to grind tier 1 is use arcade mode for the whole mission and before the end u turn it on. Fast and easy.

@Darkdally and anyone else who wants to take down convoys easy then have a HTI or the Unique from tier 1 and use an EMP drone to take the convoy down then use the HTI to 1 shot the two escorts and kill everything in them in 1 shot +heli if it has it. Then use your primary, I recommend an assault rifle or a LMG to damage the convoy a little under half health and that will force the driver and gunner out of it if they haven't left it all ready. I have something like 80k in all my resources and I gain around 460-500 tier points everytime I take them down and it only takes me about 45 seconds to deal with them all... no more long ass chases trying to stop the convoy and then getting 1 shot by a stray bullet after you do stop it. Hope this helps everyone... Oh and use the spotting perk from rebel support from your drop BEFORE you EMP them to target all the hostiles in the convoy.

Hey Dark, I have a way I've been using for convoys. I personally use my HTI from a distance and shot the cars behind and nd in front of the convoy to destroy them in 2 shots each. Then when the gasoline truck or whatever is still moving I use my drone to emp it and stop it then I go take the driver from the truck or he gets out and runs but his friend is still dangerous. So sometimes if you take the cars with he mini guns out they will just run and leave the truck which by the way, gives you more resources the less damaged it is. So I it takes no bullets, and you have a resource bonus of 100% then you'll get 10000 from a 5000 convoy

I just started playing this game a week ago. And I managed to Finish the stealth part with only using my drone. I killed everyone in the base with sync shot. Didn’t get detected cuz I was at the edge of the base. Sam launchers held me back but I did it solo first try. I’m proud of myself.

I ended up gravitating toward MSR, Tar 21, and Lady Killer. Curious to see how you compare these weapons to others. Also I don't run a grenade launcher on the Tar 21. I don't like how it handle after attaching and end up using the MSR on vehicles if needed, or swap the drone around when needed.

strategy needed more to progress side missions inTier 1; for example 'defend the radio' recently tried many repeats with mines C4 etc, all fails, then try helicopter flying low with ghosts doing their shooting, holding out for time, successful completion. So I think it is more choice of strategy than struggle (as you suggest). Trouble is finding the right strategy; one thing might be look for heavy equipment in the vicinity, like helicopter or APC. I used it for about 5 minutes and threw it away... Personally, the only tier rewards that I actually use is Bad News and the operator mask... For the distance stuff, I use an SR25. you'll still take down any person if you are undetected (which I always try to be), but if it all goes sideways, you can follow up with another round very quickly and having 20 in the tin is going to last longer than the maximum of 5 you can have on the HTI. But i understand why people use the HTI and BDC, so I am not saying that anyone is wrong for using it.

The easiest way to take convoys is to use the rebels spot the convoy and sync shoot the driver and passenger of the convoy truck and shoot the other cars/hellecopter with the HTI or the OP SR 25 jungle

I'm at 34 and I've not been able to play normal since 40, but at 35, they kill me pretty much as fast as I'm detected. I'm hoping advanced is turned off at 30 so I can get teams that quit lieing about playing extreme. finally teamwork is necessary and the game plays like its meant to be played:)

I've hit tier 21 in campaign and I've noticed you melee kill style changes and as some 1 has said with convoys I highlight the main vehicle enemies in the center vehicle and take them out so that you don't destroy the main vehicle as you get a lot more from the vehicle left intact as to u destroying it. I've also noticed that you own AI are less responsive and have to sometimes disable them then re enable them to start working again

Try using a level 30 SR-25 Jungle sniper rifle to take out the armored convoy vehicles...then quickly switch to your level 30 rifle and shoot the resource truck down to 25% health. The driver and passenger will hop out and you will only have to deal with 1 enemy (the passenger) who is capable of shooting you. All in all...it normally takes me about 15-20 secs to complete a convoy at Tier 1 to get the full 17,250 resources which is maxed out.

I suppose it just means the game will get progressively harder during the campaign instead of completing the campaign and then having that sort of new experience with Teir 1. I'm on Tier 38 and I've noticed not only does the enemy get a lot tougher my men have got stupid. What I mean is my men will let enemy's walk straight past them and kill me then 2 will kill the enemy and the other will save me and many other things like this.

+Darkdally Since yesterday I've got to Tier 35... The HTI variant is amazing, but a good place to get quickly through the earlier tiers, go to Espiratu Santo (the one with the priest lady?) and do the top two missions: 'The Advisor/Gold Rush North' I found if you switch to extreme earlier you seem to earn more points (though it may be due to my change in playstyle) but they both take about 5 minutes to complete if approached right and get you a good boost to begin with, at Tier 35 in getting 2k the first time I do each, 1k the second etc... Hope this helps with the grind :)

I may try that out. I've mostly been hitting convoys, A) for the huge Tier point bonus, and B) for the resources needed to upgrade weapons as you progress, but yeah they're getting wicked hard to take down those trucks. I may give this a try, thanks mate.

Darkdally no problem mate, I found that convoys can be really difficult but I just use the HTI variant and an armoured SUV to tail them and shoot from a distance, also the weekly challenges give so much progression when you complete them, just really want to get to Tier 5 for the lvoa-c variant!

Also tier bonus points increase every level. If I remember it's 60%tier bonus points and 50% resources. I notice the icon for 5% exp doesn't show and boosters haven't tried them. I know tier isn't leveling but I thought infinite 5% extra exp from season pass would carry over into tier/supply bonus %.

I found out convoys were hard af so I created this barrage technique which consist in making a roadblock either with civ vehicles or a military truck, one blocking all the road and over a gap the other one covers the left side of the road because that way civilians won't be endangered, but only put one truck blocking all the road because that way the convoy won't go over the road Roadblocks will stop the convoy for a little moment but they'll eventually go around and directly back to the road Place some c4 between a 4-5 vehicle-sized gap and wait for the convoy They'll go aroud the truck Then they'll go over the c4 you planted Activate when all the ground vehicles are in range but make sure not to destroy the important one But I have a good way because I don't get to fail convoys if I destroy the big one So... c4 them all We don't make prisoners

And with the covoy try being undetected by it then get your drone to emp mode emp the truck. The truck will stop for a full minute get the driver out collect the points and then either kill them or drive of in the truck

If you turn tier mode off you remain at the same difficulty as you were when tier mode was activated. e.g if you were playing on Advanced with tier mode activated then you turned tier mode off you will stay at advanced until you go in to the menu & find the difficulty setting & select the desired difficulty level. 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍

I played through on easy for the story, and started again on advanced, activated tier 1 as soon as it was available, and luckily it was just in time for the update where you get 300 orange credits per level (cant remember what they are called), i'm now down to level 30 in tier 1 and it is on hardest difficulty and noticeably easier to die too, have only just got used to not having the the red on the map to show where enemies are and you have to systematically mark enemies with the drone before you even think of going in, it's worth playing through again for the orange credits, you get 300 per level and a crate is 400 credits.

@@mdfkrz79 Thankfully, it appears prestige points were retroactive. I was somewhere between Tier 26-22 when I logged back on since playing Op Archangel, and had somewhere around 7200 to 8400 points. I can't recall exactly, but I know the math worked out for it being a retroactive reward, and I'm not sure how else I could've gained them.

Ive been using m4 and the level 40 sniper unlock blows up vehicles and drops any helicopter like a fly with one shot

Headshots give bonuses from long range sniper difficulty I noticed. No it keeps you at the tier but you won't get tier points but resources give you all 4 per completion. Also for some reason at extreme I have same stats as tier 50?? Also, convoys, I fly ahead crash. Shoot civilian cars in both lanes for the convoy to not move. Then I run to the drivers side of the supply convoy where I think it will stop. Then when they come up and hault, I switch to IR mode, drop mines then use drone to mark enemies. then use the level 40 HTI to kill the driver and passenger in one shot without damaging the supply from the side window. So far I know 2 people will drop with one bullet in a line with the hti unsuppressed. If I can't get a shot in the prone ill switch to flash bang and stand up and shoot the driver before I get spotted. Then I drop a flash while I run and switch to flares and pop it on the mines and run around to the other side and take out the gunners and whatever guys that didn't chase at the rear gun truck then flash the other truck while I tag it and take the rear gun truck and flee from reinforcements if there are vehicles in traffic and spot me because rebels are so common because of the maxed rebel support. Also, don't ever put a mine down and then use your drone because it triggers your mines, lol... I dropped a mine laid in the prone to use the drone and boom dead..... I'm happy we don't have the immunity/melee kill for hp because it's OP. Once you take out the and tag stealth guys and everyone. Fallen ghosts, my only complaint is the melee kill on the heavily armored guys that only supposed to be killed by a headshot. I think when you activate tier one the weapons upgrade from the arcade mode is different. In tier one it's downgraded but you get points as you progress. And you acquire so much damage from enemies not unlike in arcade mode. Doing tier 43 now planning to turn it off now. The game is just getting harder every mission. Maybe after finishing the campaign i'll turn it back on. Thanks!

I'm at Tier 30. Enemy AI gets a lot harder too. I get detected very easily. I get flanked and often taken down with one shot. It's nerve wracking, but that makes it even more fun!

Michael Brodie thats what pisses me off the most, is getting one shot not matter what. I mean none of the skills matter at that point because how much damage they do outweighs what the skill can compensate for

Michael Brodie i do like the challenge, but its hard for me to be impressed. I mean aimbot ai that can down you with one smg bullet. The only thing that can save you when stealth goes wrong is if you have the "no pain" skill maxed out so you are invulnerable for about 15 seconds after being revived. I would except the challenge as fair of the ai still acted like somewhat competent 'soldiers' and not bum rush you and one shot you. Whats funny too is that a sniper takes two shots to down, but a regular santa blanca soldier with duel smg11s one shots me with maxed bullet resistence. And in all honesty, i would mind the high damage if the ai acted somewhat competent and tolerable

Tyufoe96 I hate bullet sponge games, but I think you are right. I love ARMA 3 and you have to turn AI comptence down to 25% to even have a chance. A similar option would be good for sicarios. Most of those guys would fire "gangsta" style, so their accuracy should be lower even at high tier levels. It forces stealth, but most scenarios go loud. I actually had fun the other day in Ghost Mode taking out 10 plus sicarios with the cross bow. A lot of sitting and watching to get the strategy right. This is not possible in a lot of scenarios though.

Tyufoe96 The ARMA AI competence is in one of the initial first menus. It's set up as a sliding scale, so you just keep clicking the left hand arrow to decrease it to the desired level. There is discussion in the ARMA 3 Steam community about the appropriate level. I'm away from my PC right now otherwise I would give you more precise details. I remember when I only had a few hours in Wildlands that I was sniping sicarios in a base. I was lying down in scrub taking the shots. When I became hunted, the sicarios were more spread out. One walked within a few metres of me and I took him out with my silenced P227. I survived the encounter. This is part of what leads me to think that the AI become superhuman in higher tier modes. You're absolutely right. They pinpoint you even when shooting at distances greater than 400 metres. A combination of ARMA 3 and Wildlands would be an amazing game. Wildlands still remains one of my favourite games, but to complete some of the remaining missions, I'm going to have no choice but to turn off tier mode.

When you get to tier 21 you get 70-80 points for a kill but its locked in extreme and for me its 2 shots and I'm dead so yeah its freaking hard

I'm on Tier 25 and put a lot of resources into upgrading the HTI. It's over level 10 now...no bullet drop at 500 meters! Loving it!
