I had the 90 and the 350 scramblers. I liked riding the 1960s Yamaha 2 stoke and Suzuki's. They had some strange street version of two stokes and were 2 cylinder and could really scream when you built up the right RMP even thou they looked lame.

Kawasaki should make eliminator with the H2 engine to stay true to the cocaine fueled energy of the original eliminator.

I had a good friend who went from a used Suzuki GT380 to a brand new Kawasaki GPz550. It was like going from a moped to a rocket ship. We always used to cruise around on the GT380. One trip through the curves on the GPz ended all that. The frame, suspension and motor on that bike was simply astonishing. I remember riding passenger on the GPz and I could knee down on one of the curves while we were going sixty. That was enough. The GT380 would wobble all over the place, warning us to slow down. The GPZ just said, "Is that all you got?" Great memories, great bikes.

Weirdly Honda killed off the true successor to the CB750 (the CB1100) right before bringing back the CB750 name under the Hornet sub-brand. Talk about sending mixed messages. I would much rather have had something in the style of the old CB750 but with the new 750 twin - sort of like a Honda Bonneville really.

I've heard rumors that Honda is planning on releasing a GB750 that utilizes the 755 Hornet engine in a 1969 CB750 like retro styled twin shock frame. Considering Honda doesn't sell the Hornet in the US we probably won't get this GB either though (d... you Honda!).@@Geshmaal

That orange Honda CL175 was my first bike. Bought new in the spring of 1971, it was the perfect intro to motorcycling. Not only did I ride it everywhere on the road, I took it on many trails thru the woods. It only took that first summer for me to upgrade in the fall to a new CB750K1, now that's a bike I'd love to have again. I just don't like the looks of today's bikes, plus they are just too complicated. I'd take that little CL175 again if Honda would make it just like it was in 1971.

I still have my 1975 Honda CB400F (red). I knew the minute I saw that bike it was something special, and I would sooner sell my liver. Kept it cherry, ridden and loved it every summer for decades. I’ve done obsessive maintenance on it - because I can! Now I’m looking for a builder motor for round 2 of its life, and mine. So damn glad I kept it!

It isn't a thing in the US but I am pretty happy that Fantic brought back the Caballero a couple years ago. It was the cool kids enduro in the 80s in italy spain and also in germany, and since 2016 it's back as a really capable lightweight scrambler. It was the best decission ever to buy that bike.

I like the modding that was happening back then. Turning these into flat trackers, scramblers, cafe racers, bobbers.. that’s why I’m into the classics. I just can’t see you doin it the same way on modern bikes. Really wish there was somewhere you could go to learn this

0:05 Yamaha YTX 125! just like mine! A motorcycle exclusively built for Philippine roads. The twin rear shocks and the piece of metal under the tank for sidecar installation is a giveaway. Unlike the Crux Rev of India, Africa and Japan that has smaller engine and only two rear shocks instead of four. love that bike. it's unkillable and economical that runs on gas fumes.

@yammienoob and community! I am a beginner rider looking for a reliable, fun bike with classic design cues. I only plan to ride it daily for my work commute and look "cool" while doing so (all of 20 minutes). In the video, the brand Royal Enfield was mentioned. I was looking into the Continental GT 650 and was wondering if anyone here owns one or knows someone who does? Would this be a good workhorse? Or would it be too uncomfortable while wearing a backpack to work?

I had one of those bikes from yesteryear & I liked it very much. A Kawasaki Kz1000 back in I think 1979-80 when I had her for a short time but long enough to turn a 120+MPH..... Of course you'd be pushing 150-160mph to feel the same rush but nothing on those bikes was even close to the technology we have today. That bike would feel like a costco mini-bike compared to even the 300 class street bikes of today. But back then it was one fast ride.... I wish I had another one. peace

I doubt anyone will bring back even a variant of the bike I liked the best. I want a brand new, NO CHANGES, Honda VT500, Shaft drive, V-twin, with offset crank pins, hydraulic valve adjusters. Best ride around bike I ever owned. It's one big failing was the 2.5 gallon gas tank. I detest both the racerbike look and seating position and also the living room recliner seating position of the cruisers. Blech! The VT500 was smooth and reliable and comfortable with a sit up mostly straight seating position and it was a light enough for fun riding and rode nice enough for freeway flying to beyond any speed limit I know of. If I'd had any sense back then I'd have gotten another tank and had someone modify it to hold 5.5 gallons so I could ride it on my longish commute, just under 100 miles, until I could move closer to my job. I miss that wonderful bike.

I had a super 90 Honda back in 1967 and then I got a 500 Kawasaki triple in 1970 and I think the difference for me is this was very affordable and it basically gave me the Wings of Freedom and I think most people want to go back to that not that the new bikes aren't great as well because they are but the other ones were much more accessible and affordable for everybody that wanted one that is not the case now in my humble opinion

Maybe it’s not so much the retro look that everybody likes, but maybe it’s the standard upright seating position that these motorcycles have to offer that makes them such a sweet and comfortable ride to enjoy and not break your neck on. Or other important parts of your body (crotch)😂. I would really like to see you raffle off that triumph 400 that’s out. Also, with a round headlight, you could mount a windshield for a winter time riding.

I had a Honda 350 and a Triumph 650 back around 1970. Anyway, the Triumph 650 was like riding a Honda 350 with twice the power. It also sounded better. While it was a pain in the tushy to start compared to the 350 the ride was so much more fun with the extra power. The Triumph 650 also had better natural placement of the handlebars. I still have the 350 but really miss the 650 because it just looked better and was a nimble little beast. Motorcycles began to look ugly in the 1970s and continue to look ugly.
