1. V10s back. 2. Clone Micheal Schumacher 3. Scrap the shitty bureacracy 4. Make it a rule to NOT EVER ALLOW team orders to ruin a race again. Every racer has to try their best, despite how it turns out for the team. No one should hold back for their teammate. Stupid. 5. Allow more sorts of tyres than Pirelli's only. 6. More freedom in how to make and improve the cars. Let all sorts of funny wings and spoilers be made. 7. Enough of the squarness. More curves. 8. Get rid of DRS 9. Get ride of KERS 10. NOT HYBRIDS!!! Let V12s, V8s and V10 race togehter 11. No turbos. 12. Allow the grooves back in the tyres. Enough with the 'slicks only' pollicy. 13. Strip unnessecary electronic devices, let the drivers be the heroes, not the machines only. 14. Cut it out with the speed limits on pit-stops. 15 No fuel saving bullshit. 16 The regulations should be down to the essential, cease the idiotic rules.
@Splozy

Agree with everything except the no speed limit in the pits. It's like the most dangerous part of the track and having no speed limit in an area is just plain stupid.
@Firemarioflower
@Firemarioflower 7 жыл бұрын
Splozy Fine. I'll give you that one. Sadly there's no other option to make pit stops faster. So a race is often won or lost by over 25 seconds of time gone in the lane. Oh well, with atmospheric big cylinder engines we should have refueling back to keep it interesting...

I would keep the speed limits on the pits, but make all the pit distances the same, (thing that will rarely happen, because that would mean a full make over of the tracks) or make them proportionate to the straight they are on, for example, the one in Abu Dhabi is ridiculously long, so is the one in Silverstone, which makes drivers lose a lot of time.

How to fix F1. Full course cautions with safety cars. (not the virtual kind) No more cautions in 1 sector with no passing. I wanna see all the cars get bunched back up for a restart. Just like NASCAR and IndyCar. Also, just like NASCAR, during a caution, the first car a lap down could go around and get back on the lead lap.

My suggestions: - external engine supplier: Although every current manufacturer will be against that, having a common engine for every car will improve the competitiveness in the field heavily (like in the 70s with the Cosworth) - Shift aerodynamic focus from wings to diffusor: Less complicated wings equals less dirty air and subsequently more overtaking, while maintainig downforce with an improved ground effect. - Less penalties. Nobody likes them. They artificially influence the race and prevent hard racing. Indycar and other american series handle that much better! - Fairer distribution of prize / tv money to the teams: Everyone gets the same percentage. Period.

Here's what to do if you want F1 to shine once again: 1. Bring back the v10 engine 2. Reduce the races from 21 to somewhere about 17 or 18 races per season. 3. Bring back the Ground effects 4. Make the rule to all teams that all f1 car must have a same universal chassis and body kit (Just like formula 2, formula e, and Indycar does). And no teams are allowed to change or add some aero attachment.

I'd like to see the new cars battle on Brands Hatch or Watkins Glen. Also, Formula 1, 3 and 4 are big championships, but Formula 2 is literally a dying breed. I'd love to see them race as a televised support series. Also have a European, Asian and American Formula 1 series with reduced costs to allow upcoming drivers an even better chance to get into the World Series.

One thing that I can think of that would improve the racing aspect, would be to make tracks wider. It was a shame that the Indian grand prix was given the chop, it had moments where cars could go 3 or even 4 abreast ! Hopefully that will be one of the things next years regulations will improve: over-taking in the corners.

Howabout lower the downforce to get rid of the dirty air problem, and make the cars much more difficult to handle so that there would be much more little mistakes by the drivers. In other words make it like it was in 60:s, when the races where amazingly entertaining.

That's what ground effects supposed to do. They suck the dirty air to the bottom of the car to creating the downforce so that the air flows more efficiently and so on the car will be less drag and the overtake would be more easier.

I don't know enough about the social media aspect of modern F1 fans, but I do have my own opinions on how to fix the sport. My first decision would be to put a younger man or woman in charge of the social stuff, and I would focus on what I think is the core of the issue: The performance of the cars and the drivers' ability to wring the most out of them. 1. Minimize downforce and focus on mechanical grip. In earlier times, the cars didn't rely on downforce to corner at high speeds, and the older cars weren't as affected by a car in front. Personally, I'd like to get rid of wings completely, limit the amount of downforce the car can make with the body to something like a few hundred pounds, and get a grippy tire that will slide near the limit instead of breaking away suddenly. Get rid of aero gimmicks like DRS zones. 2. Make the engine rules simple, like say 2 liters of displacement and no forced induction and up to four valves per cylinder, something like that. Then let the engine manufacturers have at it. There would be different configurations, like six, eight ten and twelve cylinder plants, and who knows what kind of configuration. They'd all sound different too, an aural treat for the fans in the stands. 3. Investigate the possibility of running races at rotating tracks. The cars will likely be slower, even with gobs of power, but they will also likely race closer and be able to run together like they've not done in decades. Many older tracks, such as Mosport, Watkins Glen, and Imola might be better suited to cars that don't run as fast on Tilke's angular tracks (which themselves could be easily modified to suit my hypothetical cars by broadening out the corners) because they run sweeping corners and elevation changes better. Perhaps tracks could switch back and forth from year to year, particularly in the same country. Silverstone and Brands Hatch could alternate yearly, as could COTA in Texas and either Watkins Glen or Long Beach in the USA. Maybe neighboring countries, such as Spain and Portugal, could swap races as well. It's just a thought, and a wild one that would require a lot of bringing tracks up to code and what not, but it might make things neat too. 4. Get rid of the pay structure as it is now. Ferrari makes money just for showing up, and they whine about quitting the sport more than anyone. Screw that. Give everyone the same base pay and let them earn anything extra based on how they finish. It would give new teams such as Haas F1 a toehold into the sport, a security blanket to ensure they can at least give it an honest fight. After that, let them succeed or fail on their own merits. That's a good sampling of my thoughts. I might even have had a half decent idea in there somewhere!

Eurosport has done the number 1 spot on this video, created a channel only for F1, to talk about the race, commentaries with experts, etc., but the downside is it cost 5€ p/month and a lot of people get angry because of that, the F1 season for the past decade was always on SportTv (also a paid channel) and a lot of the people couldn´t afford it because it was too expensive, when F1 passed to Eurosport everybody was excited and happy to see their favorite sport for free, but they only broadcast 3 races and then created the new channel (Eurosport 2 Xtra), probalbly thinking people would subscribe to continue watching their loved sport. And as a F1 fan I hated that choice and I´m very disapointed with the channel network. Thanks for reading this.

1. - championship leader always starts 5 positions back, so pole lap would make him start 6th - championship 2nd always 4 positions back - 3rd 3 positions back etc. This would make everything much more interesting and not just watching the same car leading from the start to the finish.

Price money should be awarded relative to team's budget. Smaller budget should give you more money for same results. This would encourage teams to be cost effective without budget caps. Money is still going to be useful in developing car, and it might still be worth spending more since you will be more competitive. But it would absolutely be step in right direction. And imagine how much Minardi would have gotten just for finishing 4th. It would have hugely helped them, but they still would have been behind bigger teams.

How about during double yellow conditions you have to run with a yellow flag engine limiter, that would reduce the speed during local yellows and reduce the need for full course VSC or the safety car. I miss the days when it was local yellow or red flag if the debris was too serious. I hate full course yellows but understand you can't get rid of them for safety reasons but why can't they regulate speed during double yellows to make sure cars are slowed down and reduce the need for so many VSC and safety cars.

I like F1 and NASCAR, but being from the US I prefer NASCAR, so I think F1 could lead by NASCAR's example, open a hands-on museum, let the fans have something to do on race day besides go to the track, sit down, get a hot dog (or whatever concessions, I know at Circuit of the Ameicas they got hot dogs for sure though), but the point is F1 i've heard is a bit dull as far as what fans can do. But i'm not to be griping. I've never been to an F1 race, I have been to a NASCAR race. There, I think you needed a special ticket or something, but they had a concert on the frontstretch, yeah, like people dancing their asses off on the track, then they towed the stage out, and the racing began. What i'm getting to is that F1 needs to improve their fan experience.

The reason ground effect NEVER will be allowed back in F1 is safety. If the car bottoms out you lose all of that downforce, imagine that you lose both front and rear wing when you bottom out, and it comes back once you are of the ground. And there is also a risk of blow overs. Grorud effect sadly won't make a return

I don't think that last one is a way forwards. I we take it off TV and put it on something like say Netflix or KZbin and get then to pay a mouthly fee. Formula one would lose fane for sure. Not all of us can afford that so the only way for us to watch is on TV. You could get the fans to vote for pole position on the Saturday to make the racing more exiting instead of qualifying.

Remove DRS and implement a Push to Pass system like IndyCar has. Stop trying to improve the show with pointless gimmicks like Elimination Qualifying. (Sorry I mentioned it.) Give teams an incentive to have a young driver. E.g. Cash? Regulation stability. Keeping the technical regulations similar each season improves the racing long term. Reduce the strictness on licensing for games. Seriously. Allow different liveries for each car. Seriously. 99 BAR was created because of this.

Usually, I'd firmly stand against number 4's wealth redistribution a-la communism, but you're right: competition would be fierce, and Hamiltons "of the world" wouldn't be continuously winning.

1, Bernie has to go, now! he is holding F1 back as far social media go's. look at how Hamilton uses it to his advantage compared to the other drivers. he is doing more to advertise F1 than anyone. new f1 boss = more access. 2. current power train + ground effect = a better spectacle. there will be no need for drs because front wing and maybe rear wings won't be needed therefore, less turbulent air to follow another in. more wheel to wheel and for action. less cost for teams too. 3. no more Herman tile tracks. over the years, how man truly great track has he created? i may be wrong here, but was the Austin Texas track a tilke?? that is the best new track in 30 years or more. why? its wide, it has heavy braking zones to produce overtaking.. 4. revert to manual gear shift. a manual box is a "drivers box", flappy paddle semi auto boxes are far too sterile. what if a driver missed a gear here or there, would it not spice up the action?? the list could go on, F1 is too technical as much as i love how detailed and engineered a modern car is, there is no racing any more, just a circular attritional bore fest..

its pretty much a closed grid- even the share of revenue to each team like american football. drs open on first lap can't understand why there's a 2 lap wait just get on with it. why do the slower cars get out of the way of faster cars if you've got a faster car then overtake.simple.2 second gap for drs use..always start a wet race on time as normal if they've got the balls to start then they would clock more laps than those who choose not to.best drivers in the world?no radio contact at all except on the pit straight or equivalent pit length on straight strictly no talk of rivals etc...

having no social media, in my opinion, is a good thing. the demographic that is reaching to are the younger audience, which has no patience for or understanding of f1. they just bitch and moan about anything and everything with their opinion based on total ignorance. if you've read the rubbish that goes on with facebook comments under f1 articles, you'd rather f1 not have a facebook account.

Easy! No qualifying! Wait, have random grids, only decided during formation laps, oh yes refuelling and you decide what you start with before the formation laps including tyres.

Get rid of the Virtual Safety car bull s****. it ruins races and doesn't even work properly. What's the fun of a caution when the cars can't group back together. It means less passing and great racing. That is one of the main reasons I don't watch F1 anymore.

JakeTV That's why we have the corner workers with the flags so there is only a caution in a certain section. If it was necessary then every sport would have it.

Some sports do have a VSC in only that section such as the WEC or DTM. It will be in F1 in the future with no doubt and I'd welcome it.
