Anne Belair, bless you and your fortitude is an inspiration! I have very thin hair due to thyroid condition that went on for too long due to "uneducated" doctor I had at the time. He was telling me I was in normal range but his view of normal was not my "optimal". Tho now treated by a different doc, with NatureThroid, I have still not regained my hair. BUT even if by some miracle I did, I would still wear wigs I love them so much! Taz has played a HUGE part in my journey from the stress and depression of hair loss to an exciting new chapter in my life! I absolutely love your reviews because they’re honest, insightful, and most of these wigs you purchase with your own funds which is very important to me. I would like to talk about your #1 way to get the most out of reviews. You talked about reviewers who get wigs for free from retailers. I am a seasoned wig wearer and over the years I have purchased wigs from just about every single high-end wig manufacturer that you can name. One of the most important things I have learned is which fibers hold up the best and which wigs will last the longest over time. With that said, I get very annoyed with a few of the “newer” reviewers who are now obtaining free wigs from retailers. I know these wigs they’re reviewing all too well and there is no way their reviews are honest. Let’s take Raquel Welch wigs and her Tru2Life fibers. Anybody who knows wigs knows that RW wigs are costly and crappy. They look great out of the box but once worn (ONE TIME) they’re frizzy, tangled, and look horrible. You can say what you want but giving a TRULY HONEST, CANDID review about a wig that is sent for free is going to have an impact on the reviewers chances of ever getting another one. I believe that there are several women out there who have become “opportunists” and are not interested in giving a truly honest review. When a person just loves, loves, loves every single wig that is sent to them it’s just plain bulls#$t. They may not be getting rich BUT they’re certainly gaining plenty from their dishonesty.
@TAZSWIGCLOSET5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gianna! Thanks for the feedback and opinions. It is impossible for reviewers to cover all things, this I can attest to.. it's not an easy gig. I specialize in more out of the box type reviews, so the wearing of the fibers is NOT something I can attest to, so I try not to speculate on it in the review. I get most of my wigs from a retailer for PR/review (Wig Studio 1). I will give an honest impression of the wig right out of the box.. but my reviews will not cover everything.. the viewer WILL STILL HAVE TO DO SOME DUE DILIGENCE ON THEIR OWN..this is the responsibility of the viewer and consumer. Maybe I should talk more about that. I can show a style and talk about the objective specs,etc.. and that part is great, but perhaps a viewer may be best served by joining a wig group that promotes discussion about every day wig wearing. Thanks so much for watching and realizing the limitations for wig review videos. Best wishes, TAZ XOXO
@giannarossi40125 жыл бұрын
TAZSWIGCLOSET I agree with you that the viewer has a responsibility to do their own research but once you’ve not only done the research but you’ve also spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on these wigs you know who’s telling the truth and who isn’t.

Taz, I work from home and saw this pop up, so I watched it with interest. Btw, I do try to watch at least one ad, each time I visit a video like this. I started experimenting with wigs about six years ago and at that time, there was a site called Real Life Wigs. That site was the only one that had real people reviewing and modeling wigs. In fact, I wrote a regular blog for them for about two years. I remember how much fun it was and how much work. Especially taking extensive photographs, because I didn't feel like doing videos at the time. And, I was buying the wigs myself. No one gave them to me, so I made some mistakes but I never returned the wigs because I knew it was really my problem, not that of the manufacturers. In six years I have learned a lot and have dozens and dozens of wigs, despite giving away dozens of them too. The only way to match the videos would be to go to a shop and try them on -- something that doesn't appeal to me. So, all I know is from trial and error, and videos from people I trust like you. There are only one or two dark haired reviewers and I am grateful for them. No one reviewer has green eyes, dark hair (2-3) and a petite-average head, as I do, LOL. So I have to watch people that have some of these attributes and then figure it out from there. It takes time, but the wigs I get usually are from $300 to $3000 and so it is well worth it. Thank you for doing this. Believe me, I have benefited from your hard work and honesty. And overall niceness. 👩💖

Taz, you have always been my number one go to gal for all of the styles that appeal to me . After a year of learning and reviewing many sites, I have now narrowed my choices to three different reviewers. As you said, you need similar body( especially heights) , and face shapes to help evaluate a certain style and where it’s curl or bangs will fall on your face. Not being able to “ try on” different styles and colors is a wig wearers biggest curse😞. Your beauty and knowledge are equal to none!! Have a blessed weekend.

Hi Taz a few things in response to this video. It's going to be long😁. Firstly, very informative thank you. Secondly, your point on finding a similar reviewer in head size etc is why I subscribed to you. And, by the way you were the first reviewer I subscribed to. I always find your reviews open, informative, to the point and watchable. I tell you I have watched some reviewers and based on a few things, but presentation being foremost, have switched off within seconds if I see this criteria is not met. Why bother if you are not going to be professional? I've said before I rely a lot on what reviewers have to say to help me make an informed decision when purchasing a wig. Phew sorry carrying on a bit here, but I think you get where I'm coming from. You mentioned you watched some reviews at the onset of your journey. Would you say who and if you still watch them? As always love your videos Taz. Hope you and the family are getting back to normality xxx Sandy

Hi Taz, I do follow you for style representation and similar head measurements. My comment is you only seem to review for a select group of women. My favorite reviewer is Heather at CysterWigs because she covers more colors besides only blonde wigs. Heather shows more colors and styles than any other reviewer I have seen. There a lot of women who would love to see more the just the blonde wigs which I have no problem with but really frustrating to us darker haired ladies . Possible to have guests on with various skin tones and hair colors? Would love to see a You Tuber who can represent a more diverse group of wig wearers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@TAZSWIGCLOSET5 жыл бұрын
This video was a celebration effort for all wig reviewers. If I owned an online store, I would most definitely have access to a more diverse array of wigs to review. As I stated, one reviewer cannot possibly fulfill all the needs of a person. As little as 3 years ago, there were very FEW resources like this, so I consider us wig wearers very lucky indeed to have access to free resources. Have you checked out the Wigstudio1 channel? There are at least 5 ladies providing reviews on that channel.. all very diverse colors and styles as stated in this video. ALSO, that channel doe s have guest reviewers, one in particular that does ALL BRUNETTES. The resources are out there. Best of luck to you.

isnt it sad that only the same 5 women, all of whom are white, are getting the review opportunities with retailers. there are so many types of people who rely on wigs. There are no women of color or transgender women represented in this field. There needs to be more diversity and representation as well more types of women doing wig reviews.And these same 5 women should be fostering, mentoring, and encouraging change.

I’d be happy to provide some feedback. Do you have a sample of a review you can send?
@jaye88725 жыл бұрын
I don't think this has anything to do with race or gender when it comes to wigs. I am an African American and I have learned a lot from watching Taz's and other reviewers sites. I have wore African american wigs for the last five years. But if I had known about watching reviewers ,sorry I would not have bought them. The quality of the wig I was looking for was not there for me. And I am speaking for myself. If you feel that strongly about it maybe you can become a reviewer yourself. I have purchased probably over 100 wigs and given away half of them the other half are in my closet . But the best ones I have purchased have been the ones I have bought within the last 2 months based on Taz's and other reviewers information. I am more happier with those wigs. They are lighter, more comfortable and don't itch my head when I wear them. If you want to review wigs why not start with reviewing the wigs you own first and start from there. One reviewer that I watch stated that she was contacted by a company because they saw their reviews. Every reviewer I watch has a history of hair loss.
