It is possible that when we start to go to other worlds that we might land on one that's already been claimed by another race & if that's the case how would we communicate with them as to our intentions in regards to the planet in question. If they are more advanced than us they might decide to destroy any colony we might put on it thereby starting an interplanetary war however if they are slightly less advanced than us would we go to war with them in order to keep the planet even if they had first claim to it?. If we discover an alien hominid civilisation that was at a similar level of technology to us how will we react since its possible that while there do seem to be a great deal of civilisations out there that appear to be much more advanced than us technologically judging by all the UFO reports there may be just as many civilisations out there that are at a similar level to our own or perhaps less advanced than ours. If we encounter a civilisation on another world which is at let's say a level of civilisation similar to our Aztec or Egyptian civilisations then we would have to be VERY careful indeed in order to avoid being mistaken for gods after all look what happened in world war 2 when American troops were stationed on some islands in the pacific the native peoples thought the cargo planes that brought supplies to the troops were gods simply because they had never seen anything like them before & their so-called gods brought nice things to them like canned meat & knives that were sharper than their own so when the war ended the troops left the islands & the aircraft did not come back so the native people made reed statues of the aircraft in order to entice them back & according to some reports they were still making statues of the aircraft hoping they would come back with more goods. So if we do find a planet less advanced than us then I think we should LEAVE IT ALONE & not land however if we find one at roughly the same level of technological development as our own then the benefits to both civilisations could be enormous since they will possibly be more advanced than us in some ways & we in others for example its probably safe to say that they will not have anything like plastic or silk or satin or even certain fruits like apples,oranges,pears but they might be more advanced in things like computers, holographic devices perhaps an alien race at a similar level to us has already begun to mine the other planets in their own system.
