hey i had the same neutral issue with my tuono. just adjust the clutch for less slack that way the clutch fully disengages when you pull the lever and it’ll pop right into neutral every time!

Have to agree with you on most of those points. I also have a 2021 Factory. And it's hard to come up with too many negatives. To comment on a few of your points: 1) Neutral is not the easiest to find but it was also the same if not worse on my KTM 1290 SDR, so a little used to it 2) Changed the stock mirrors out immediately to bar ends so didn't notice the CC location being a bit wonky 3) I too would have preferred the same handlebar rise as the Non Factory but I get it 4) And yes, this bike eats up gas like you would not believe. Never had a bike just choke down gas like this one. But same as you, I still consider it the best bike I've every owned.

I haven’t owned a SDR, I bought a 2022 SDR GT. I have done a review on the SDR however. I would still go with the tuono. The engine is its best feature. What do you prefer, v2 or v4. The v2 KTM engine still isn’t as refined as I like. The tuono delivers on that front. As I say to everyone, the best thing to do is get yourself a test ride on both. There are so many different factors between riders that my thoughts and opinions might be completely different to yours.

@@DSR1YT Thanks! I’ve owned and really like twins. Never owned a V4, but tested a Streetfighter V4. I am a sucker for great sounding engines and the V4 is really one of the greatest sounding ones imo! You are right, i need to test them both before i decide :-)

If it’s the engine and the sound you enjoy then you can’t go wrong with the tuono. Better sounding exhaust note from stock than the SDR in my opinion. (Waiting for all the SDR owners to tell me my opinion is wrong) 😁

Looking forward to watching this all the way through. Quick question, how does this compare to the mt10 you owned? I have a 2017 10 and am seriously considering changing to one of these tuono’s, albeit a slightly older model. Appreciate your thoughts 👍🏻

I too had the 17’ 10, woolwich race kit with slip on and mid pipe exhaust. A good difference over stock 10s. Now onto the tuono. Stock throughout. If electronics are important to you then the tuono has it in spades. Both handle really well. Tuono is very aggressive with its riding position. Mt10 wins for comfort. Both are rubbish on fuel. I had the fuel light on at 93miles the other day. I do believe it comes on slightly early but won’t risk running it dry and being stranded. They both have a fantastic engine and sound but the tuono wins it for me. Price is also a big difference between them. Going from the 10 to the tuono it will feel quite natural with its torquey naked riding style. Also tuono wins on looks 😁. Hope this helps a little. Stay tuned for next week when I will be dropping the top 5 things I love about my tuono.

In regards to ya fuel mileage, the last blob on your gauge goes red when ya hit about 1.5 liters in the tank. I always end up filling up when the light goes on, and one blob is left but there is still about a gallon left in the tank so 80-100 miles depending on riding an still have a gallon left before the red light. Some one needs to ride till it stops.

So I have a '21 TV4 Factory as well 1. On finding neutral, the shoes I wear make a difference - my Sidi's make it more intuitive than my TCX's. Maybe it's just a muscle memory thing - but something for your consideration. 2. On the cruise control flashing - I get the feeling it's for more litigious countries - doesn't make it ok, but could just be about overly conservative legal counsel. 3. Position of the bars - definitely agree, my out of shape body does suffer. I am focusing on hinging at the hips, intentionally unloading my wrists, gripping the tank better - helps me get through about 100km more focused on the riding than any pains 4. I found that the fuel mileage improved after my first service, not so much to make it a touring bike though :) Also make sure you've had the latest map installed on the bike - won't help mileage, but general usability.

I own the 2018 Factory and what I do not like is the following: 1) Cruise control increase and decrease speed...it's way to hard both accelerating and breaking. 2) Riding position but I have handlebar risers so one inch up and one inch back. That helped a lot. But the knee bend is way to sporty. 3) The bike is bit tiny for a 194 cm (6.36) tall rider What I love the most is the engine, how it sounds and the fantastic quick shifter

Funny video; being the owner of a 2019 and now 2021 V4 Tuono factory , cant disagree with a few of the grips; and still the most intoxicating, neck snapping, gut wrenching fun you can imagine! A set of discreet handle bar risers made a difference. Fuel range solved; I bought a 2 litre fuel can which sits in my small Kriega. Riding hard in the Black Forest and B500, fuel light on at 90 miles; riding not as hard, managed nearly 140 mile.

I also come from the MT-10 (albeit via a Tracer 900 GT). My thoughts... 1. I don't really have issues with neutral 2. My other gripe with the CC is I often tag the high beam with my index finger and also, there's no reset feature. I liked that the MT could go to the previous set speed. And to nit-pick, the speeding or slowing with the +/- was smoother on the MT. 3. Agree, for general riding, the MT was better but the Tuono is much better for sports riding. I'm riding with taller risers (base model risers) for winter but had the lower risers (factory risers) for end of summer riding. 4. I don't have any issues with the fuel range, it's no worse than the MT... The economy so far has been about the same. 5. As for extra things I don't like... The wind protection is worse. I am currently running a Powerbronze screen which helps but, I had a Puig screen on the MT-10 which was much better all round for wind deflection... Also, I like the 'light' controls on the MT. I find the throttle is a bit heavier on the Tuono which affects my right wrist (had scapholunate surgery post MTB crash), so I rely on the CC a lot more. In favour of the Tuono, by miles, is the ability to enjoy the sound with the standard pipe. The MT-10 was always limited... Quiet or loud. Disable the exhaust valve on the Tuono and it's the best compromise all round (IMO)(Gabro standard map). Also, the ability to change tour/sport/user modes on the fly is brilliant!

I also come from a 2021 MT-10SP. There is no comparison in my view, the Aprilia has in a different league. My best mate (KTM 1290 SDR 2020) said he has to ride much harder now to keep up with me (he is a better rider), before he was always running up my rear. The main thing is it is so easy to go fast on this bike safely and the engine has so much more engine braking and the torque is sublime just power everywhere, I hardly use the front brake anymore whereas on the MT-10 I was on it continuously. The MT-10 was a great fun bike but this Tuono is sheer class. I will never go back to an inline 4 again, I have been bitten by the V4 bug. I'll buy another one when they do a significant upgrade.

I agree about braking. The road is not a circuit. The pleasure of a ride is in setting the bike up for a corner and matching the gear and revs to enable the speed to be reduced without braking. Brakes are for problems with other traffic, and junctions. The quickshifter makes it a real pleasure and skill to change down appropriately.

I have a non-factory Tuono with bar risers [28mm] from Motea. I can travel all day with it. Not sure why people mostly buy the Factory. I also don't understand why people risk their £1k iPhone like that. Mine goes in the tank bag, inside its protective shell, and Bluetooths to the Beeline 2 which sits on the handlebar and costs £175. You only want minimal info from your navigation on a motorcycle otherwise it is distracting. My phone never comes out of its case and has no scratches or scuffs, and will last for years [hopefully !!].

Ive always had my phone on a quad lock mount on all of my bikes, its never come off or had any issues. Only time I had an issue with my phone is when it was on a BMW S1000R in a cheap amazon mount, that did break the camera :). I also dont like turn by turn nav, I much prefer to have the full map up on display, each to their own though, as long as we get to our destination it doesn't matter how we got there aye :)

It’s a fair question Poucher. Making KZbin videos brings along all the filming kit etc. having a bike that could hold the gear is ideal for me. The GT is more comfortable to ride long distance and I’m able to get 240 miles to a tank which is also important not only for times when I do trips but also at the moment with fuel prices increasing this also helps out. If I just wanted a bike for me to go out on on a Sunday then I would have kept it.

I came from an MT10 too Riding position: The MT10 has a more upright position which I feel is not as nice. After riding the MT for a few hours my backside was really aching and that’s with the comfort seat. The Aprilia is the best compromise I find between race and bolt upright bikes, and I find it takes weight off both your wrists and backside distributing the weight better for a more comfortable ride (The MT was one of the most uncomfortable rides seating that I have ever had). I also found because the MT is more bolt upright it doesn't corner anywhere near as well as the Aprilia. Fuel: Well, who buys a super or super naked bike and cares about fuel consumption? Surely you know this before you buy a bike. Cruise control: Lights on the dash flashing? bit of a personal issue here I think and yes you did say your bike your gripes. My MT cruise control never worked correctly unfortunately because of break switch problems which I think they fixed by recall now. As for the button problem take those big bat ears off which spoil the look of the bike and get some decent bar end mirrors. The only real issue that in my opinion you've come up with is the finding neutral issue, but this is normally remedied when rolling. Also, my friend’s problem was sorted by altering the clutch cable under warranty at the dealership. Must get mine done but doesn’t really bother me. Like you said they are great bikes. Have fun

@hlpang1075 I went to the KTM 1290 GT from there. But it was a dud bike and got rid of it after 6 months 😁

@@DSR1YT i tried the superduke and honestly it was the best bike i’ve ridden in my life. Suspension, engine, handling, brakes, gearing were all just great. Sorry to hear

Get handle bar mirrors lol

I shouldn’t have to change the stock mirrors to be able to use a feature on the bike. Poorly designed.

@@DSR1YT this is true but most bikes do put stupid stuff on bikes standard 99.9% sport bikes mirrors are waste of time

@@mikebroon1 Most bikes I have owned had good or great mirrors, Fireblade, CBR600F, RC51, in fact all my Hondas. Even my Ducati 748 has useable mirrors. The new Triumph 765 RS has terrible mirrors but TBH I think it's cos of the buzzy engine.

Imagine if the dealers just responded to you saying the mirrors suck with ‘ Just buy aftermarket mirrors then’ i know i wouldnt be impressed with that as a response :)

Fuel range 🧐 utter bullshit, we have 4 of these bikes in our group, all fast aggressive riders and the fuel light comes on after 135mls so it will do 160mls,,,, 2 are 2017 and 2 are 2020, after rewatching your vid I can now see why you look for fuel after 80mls, reminds me of an old tale of a women rode her car from London to Cornwall and stumped up £800 for fuel, she never got out of 2nd gear

So to clarify...the reasons you hate the tuono are the same reasons you bought the bike.... And...the mt10 is a pig on fuel. And ugly as sin lol

The MT10 has a face only a mother could love. I used to say though, when im sat on it I can't see how bad the front end looks so its engine made up for the front end. Although the older model is better looking than the newer model in my opinion. There may be areas I hated on the Tuono. But its still the best bike ive owned so far, I did do a 5 reasons I love the Tuono, don't think its hate videos around here :)
