Montessori was a person that developed a method of teaching young children by giving them the freedom to shape the way they learn over the formal teaching methods used today. They are encouraged to use their imaginations and creative thinking to learn instead of pen and paper tasks. So a Montessori toy would be something that encourages kids to experiment. Its pretty interesting.

I think identifying a niche market is the most important point. By the way, I've never seen a stovetop cover in any home, because the objection is always 'Where do I put it when I want to use the stove?' They just do not sell in my area.

The cncs are how you mass produce something real quick. Defs think they're worth the investment for a business. You can make alot of these with minimal tools but it'd take alot of time and time is money

This channel needs to blow up! KZbin has so many variations on this video idea, but this is the first I've seen with suggestions for paths of how to scale each product! Way too many "top 5 projects that sell" videos where a KZbinr with no underlying large production business lists 5 products that don't sell/aren't scalable.

Great video thanks for sharing your insight! You touched on the importance of liability insurance for the kids item but also important to have for the stove top covers. Even though it would be a user issue if someone put it on/over hot burners or turned on while the cover was one, the lawyers these days will take a shot at the maker of the cover. My wife is in the legal field and this is one of the reasons I have stayed away from doing these...I want to, she is skeptical. Thanks again!

We have very popular children's chairs with height adjustment. Children's growing chair. This also applies to Montessori. But there are a lot of manufacturers. Very big competition. I made some chairs and sold them in one week when I was in another country with little wood.

I do want to make money with my woodworking, but I don't want to become a business. I'm a 100% Disabled Veteran and working is not an option. I do woodworking as a therapeutic hobby, but I want to make a few bucks to support my other hobby, photography. I use photography to help me get into events that my PTSD wouldn't generally allow me to go to. For instance, growing up I enjoyed racing (all forms of it. If it's fast and loud, I like it). But since the military, I'm very apprehensive to attend these events. However, if I can "hide" behind my camera, it distracts my mind enough to enjoy the event. So, back to what I was saying, I would like my woodworking to make some money to support my photography. This video and your other one about projects that don't make money are great videos and very informative. Thank you and God bless.

That’s what I do with Marquee letters, but I’m definitely not getting 50-100 a letter. Nobody around here will pay that. I tried 45 a letter and was getting tons of clicks but not rentals. Then I started pricing based on the words . 4 letter words one price and anything over 4 letters another price. That has been going a lot better.

Never understood the concept of putting a wood stove cover over a gas or electric range. Do they use it because they are tight on space and need extra working area, if so, then they have to remove it to use the range and have to store it or lean it against the wall, plus , grandma may have problems lifting it.

I am also a Bible believing follower of Jesus Christ and a former Army Captain. I made it a point to pray for you every single day as I was fully behind what you were about and that you championed my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I asked you one simple question back then and you and your wife completely lost your temper. Haven't watched a single thing by you since and haven't recommended you to anyone since either. The simple question that was 100% genuine was, "Were you able to quit your job by selling the things you are encouraging us to make and sell or were you only able to quit your job once you had a revenue stream from KZbin and other social media outlets?" It was a completely legit question and you flipped out entirely as if I was trying to do a "gotcha" which I wasn't. You lost all respect from me right there. This chap has your number 100%.

I am a disabled carpenter/home improvement contractor im not in the business anymore for about 10 years i have lupus and now on dialysis for that need a kidney also 2 years ago had 5 surgeries in left eye for detached retina and last year open heart 5 bypass surgery and now sitting here with covid and pneumonia!!! but with all this doesn't bother me i look at it all as a blessing because you truly can't experience all the light(good) that comes from the dark(bad) until you experienced the dark(bad) you will never truly feel the light(good)!!! it does suck i dont work with wood anymore! i'm looking for something to do to make myself busy again but on my time and when i can do it. love all your ideas tho!!! sorry for rambling

Usually a router would try for some instance. But mainly for good fitting I recommend a mitre saw. It Rilly cuts good angles

i found when staining pieces all ways use a roller to apply the stain never brushes also use a roller to paint door trim etc!cover as much as you can then cut if have too it saves so much time. I was painting the stars on a duplex both sides my helper did one side with a brush and i rolled my side i finished all 13 stairs he was on the second stare. LOL he couldn't believe i was done he really thought he had a time glitch, lol he didn't know i rolled it and comes out way better looking than brush!!

I'd never get a stove top cover. One thing people never think about is where you're going to park that monstrosity when you're using the stove. Also, over time it will start to look pretty tough - jammed in the space between the stove and the cabinet (maybe, if it fits), around a lot of cooking that involves grease and other spatters, around hot surfaces.

Stove top covers are not for the average person there buddy. Those are decorations for women who married into money. They have zero concern about where it will be placed while cooking because they are not going to be doing any damn cooking. Same thing with the women that have those crazy nice very white cabinets in their kitchens. You know how they keep them clean? They dont use their kitchen. Their kitchen is a vanity project to make their less well off friends jealous. Ever notice how when these women get these things put in their homes the very first thing they do is plan some event to take place at their home? Its just an excuse to invite their females friends over and show off their vanity projects. Practicality means nothing to them because they do not intend to ever use it. These women would rather die than cook a meal for a family.

Microbreweries, restaurants… Sandblast their name & logo into the clipboard. Also it can be laser etched. I did a memorial marker for a cat. It was a cheap, 12x12 granite tile from a home improvement center. It was well received, and people don’t mind spending for their pets. I like sand blasting better. It provides a deeper etch into the granite.

I started making drink coasters 6 years ago. I work about 3 days a month and make $10k in that time and take the rest of the month off. I could easily double my profit, but I'm not really a materialistic person so I'm happy just being able to pay my bills and live a free life. Once you start making money, you realize what an illusion money really is. I honestly believe anybody can be a millionaire if they just change their mindset.

As a 20 year insurance veteran, I 100% second that you need to be extra careful with insurance if making kids toys. In fact, you may have to go to special insurance companies if making kids toys... So build the extra expense into your business plan.
