That 90 degree angle for the vent tube (under your tank bag) is done how? Is there part that makes that possible...

2:04 holy crap that suspension. No way that rebound is stock. Fast then slow, very controlled and seat was like it was floating

Best bike I've ever owned. As stated in this vid - add gearing, *tires, more gas, high rise bars, heated grips and done, go ride : )

Excellent video! Thank you for not recommending that the exhaust system be changed. A lot of guys do this, and other than a few pounds of weight savings, it's a relatively worthless mod on this bike for the very small performance gain achieved.
@joshp25425 жыл бұрын
Not to mention that with all these loud exhausts its contributing to the closing down of riding areas. Im at the point of either selling my wr250r or making it into a supetmoto as there is just nowhere to ride around here anymore.

I want to upgrade to the IMS fuel tank. Can I use the stock gas cap? I need a lockable gas cap for sure.
@AvidEnduro6 жыл бұрын
I highly doubt it. I have the IMS and the stock fuel cap is a odd shape, the IMS is a perfectly round cap, but I bet if you researched it you could find one.

Thanks for the great video. Quick couple questions, the first on the described 14/49 gearing. What size chain should i order with the sprockets? Second question is on the tank bag shown in the video. What model is it and does it require that I order a different fuel tank cap than the one that comes with the IMS tank? Thanks
@rmatvmc7 жыл бұрын
For the +7 teeth I would play it safe and add 8 links to the stock chain length which is 108 links. Go ahead and order a 116. You can always take away links if needed. For the tank bag this is the Wolfman Blackhawk. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/1033/69727/Wolfman-Blackhawk-Tank-Bag-V1.7 It's a little bigger than what you would normally run on this bike, but I carry a camera along with plenty of other items that i frequently need in this bag. I love it! We are still running the IMS tank cap on this bike. The only thing that I would watch out for is the vent hose needs a 90 degree angle in it to sit under the tank bag. Just make sure that it doesn't get pinched off. - Wes

Does gearing down also affect the way miles add on to the odometer? Would a speedo healer fix it?

Would that 4.7 gallon tank be US gallons or imperial (17.7 litres or 21.3 litres)? Thanks
@rmatvmc5 жыл бұрын
That would be 4.7 U.S. gallons.

Yamaha need to fix the speedometer error, After 10 years, one would thought this defect is fixed by now.

And: Fix the jerky throttle responce, seriously its software... Put a seat on it that you can stand to ride on. Come factory with a 14:47 so it does not destroy itself. The tank is a bit too small to, even if not adventure riding. I feel Yamaha is really letting their customers down not fixing blatant design flaws like most of these. I don't know why the speedometer isn't read from the front wheel with a sensor or gear drive, so it doesn't matter what you do to the drive ratio. That or just have an adjustment in the software UI.

@Fred Wills I have seen lots of conments about this bike being discontinued, only to later be listed on the website. It seems like Yamaha isn't super fast about adding this model to the site causing a lot of questions about whether they are making it that year. So basically unless you have another source that they discontinued it, or that was just a joke, I would wait to make that determination until February.
@court23794 жыл бұрын
@Fred Wills A 350 would be amazing but they always seem to go too far IMO to a 450. This isn't a MX bike. I'd still take the 450 though if it wasn't way more expensive and much heavier. They need to keep the reliable low maintenance design though, even though they don't have as much power.
@court23794 жыл бұрын
@Fred Wills It would be heavier as a dual sport. They do things like leave the counter balance shaft out of the motor, leave out a gear ratio, and use more expensive lighter materials in the MX bike. Plus you have the starter, battery, lights, emissions garbage, heat shields, two up pegs and longer seat and frame, mirrors, etc.. it would be real hard to make it as light as the WR450F. It wouldn't have to be a lot heavier though.

Yea I’d love to have a tusk top rack but they have been out of stock for this bike for a year?? Really rmatvmc u are going to have Arguably the most popular dual sport rack another very popular thing people put on bikes for a year wow and finally when I decided to get the other rack that cost 100$ more and I ordered a bunch of other stuff all in stock u are telling me it will take 16 days to be delivered kinda disappointed

Hey guys, between Wr250r and DR650 which one would suits to ride with a pillion passenger better on and off the road? I would appreciate if anyone who has experience with these bikes share their experience.... I had a ktm 690enduro and sold it as I was sick of unreliability of it...
@rmatvmc6 жыл бұрын
having owned both, I would say the DR650. The seat is wider and longer and probably better on the passenger's butt. Also, the WR250r struggles to pull the weight of one rider; throwing another person on there would only be more frustrating on the highway. - Justin

No one says you have to do them....take a multi-state trip on this bike and ask if you want them when you're done. Or, buy an adventurer tourer that's $5k more, and get most of them. And, then ask if you'd like a smaller more nimble bike when you're done touring.
