Imaginal Disk is my album of the decade and a 10/10 in my book, so I'm a tad "disappointed" that it's only at #10, but only a tad. TBF, I haven't listened to at least half of the records on the top-50, so I have a ways to go before I have a complete picture of the year overall.

I agree, I usually never have a reaction like "ONLY 10?!" on Fantano's list week lists because even that in itself is extremely difficult. But Imaginal Disk is TOP 5 at least, and my #1 this year.

#10 is super high praise from anyone who listens to this much music. Personally the Geordie Greep album was my number one so seeing it at #6 makes me happy! I think with such a variety of music genres being covered it ends up coming down to personal taste between the best of the best albums of the year. (ps: I do love Imaginal Disk too)

Don’t really feel like I was living under a rock for not really caring about brat, but I do feel like the sheer number of producers on a given album versus an artist or band who does those things almost completely themselves is a conversation worth having, because those people “living under rocks” probably value songwriters developing songs from whole cloth. That’s a worthwhile distinction in my book and I don’t think I’m alone in that.
