The golden era of Sega with so many arcade games ported to Sega Saturn. Im glad that you highlighted some of SS masterpieces like Shining Force 3, Dragon Force, Manx TT, Sega Rally, Last Bronx, Die Hard Arcade, etc. Sadly, I just read the news that Sega sold its majority shares of its arcade biz shares to Genda. We can no longer see "Sega" logo on arcade games 😢

The Sega Saturn is one of the greatest video game consoles this side of the PS1 and PS2. Just the selection of games alone is more than worth the price of admission. As for my personal favorite games on the console.... -Gungriffon 1 & 2 (Did I mention I love mecha?) -Bulk Slash (this one got an English dub and it's quite glorious) -Stellar Assault SS (one of Sega's own answers to Star Fox) -Radiant Silvergun (one of the greatest shmups that is equal parts Macross and Evangelion) -Burning Rangers (so much fun this game is) -Powerslave (no longer just the name of one of the greatest Iron Maiden songs) -Guardian Heroes (one of the GOAT beat 'em ups, hands down) -Galactic Attack (also known as RayForce) -Hyper Duel (another GOAT tier shmup that is also a love letter to both Macross and Gundam) -Panzer Dragooon series (my favorite Sega franchise that isn't the Yakuza series)

If this doesn't show the anti Saturn crowd just how capable the system was, then nothing will. When both CPU and GPU were used correctly, besides transparencies, it was actually more powerful than the PS1. Unfortunately, a lot of coders couldn't get a grasp on it. But there's some early PS2 level stuff in here. Saturn was a BEAST, and never ever deserved to fail. Sega of America were the problem, not the hardware. Such a shame, as had it been successful, Sega would have had more leeway to help the Dreamcast compete with PS2/Xbox/GC by introducing a dual stick controller and the like, rather than having to end console production altogether. Still one of my favourite consoles of all time, well, all Sega consoles are.

@@costumeninja1914 Burning Rangers and Sonic R look incredible. Two good examples. Panzer Dragoon 2. I mean I should have said "close to", or "comparable" with some early ps2 stuff, but the Saturn regardless was very capable.

I swear I've always wanted to Sega Saturn, but I feel panzer dragoon and games like resident evil and Sega rally championship and house of the dead all still look good and very iconic to this very day!!! I like playing Panzer Dragoon saga and resident evil for the Saturn on my RG 353v is it the only way I get to play as trying to get a Saturn in decent condition nowadays is just through the roof pricewise?! But I'm still holding out. Hope that one day I can have me a nice mint condition black Sega Saturn?!

Great list, it pains me that a lot of them are still locked on Saturn (or even worst, on japanese Saturn). I still have some reservations about some of your choices and my list would have been different: On the one hand by replacing: Vandal Hearts by Sakura Taisen or Sakura Taisen 2 Lunar 1: Silver Star Story by Magic Knight Rayearth, Linkle Liver Story, Marie no Atelier ver.1.3 or Linda³ Kanzenban. Baku Baku Animal by Puyo Puyo Sun or Noon (New Type Action Game Noon). X-Men: Children of the Atom by Real Bout Garou Densetsu Special or a King of Fighters (96? 97?). World Heroes Perfect by Astra Superstars Fighting Vipers or Last Bronx by Virtual On: Cyber Troopers Hyper Duel by Cotton 2 / Cotton Boomerang or Princess Clara Daisakusen. And then, 50 games is really not enough... There are still many games that really deserve to be mentioned: Shin Shinobi Den (/Shinobi Legions, Shinobi-X) Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru Dungeons & Dragons Collection Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari Yoh, who have an hard time not mentionning some more exotique game such has Dragon Master Silk, Princess Maker 2/3, Gals Panic SS, Arcana Strikes, No-appointment Gals Olympos...
