13.787 billion years old. I wonder how scientists can be so exact.
@Xunkun
@Xunkun 9 ай бұрын
Somewhere between 13,787,000,000 and 13,787,999,999 years isn't.... _too_ exact. But take Hubble's Constant-- basically the observed speed of the expansion of the universe, then just run it backwards until you hit Spacetime Zero. Even rounding it off as you would in high school, you'll get a clean 13 billion, so the remaining precision is just refining observation.

This is how many billion light years we can see into space. Beyond that we don’t know what is there because the light from those places has not had enough time to get here at the speed of light.

(5:45) ". . . the signal would have left said galaxy 4.9 billion light-years ago." (5:53) ". . . it was about 400 million light-years before our solar system was even formed." BAHHH! Wrong answer! A light-year is a measure of distance, not time.

The science of space will be a waste of time cause in order for us to achieve anything great then what we have now the entire world would need to work together and we could have faster ways to travel and more efficiently also plus we could use other planets or their moons for resources that we seem to love to fight about here on earth but none of this matters cause the governments wont work together because everyone wants to be in charge and its holding our entire POPULATION of the planet back from it's TRUE power or potential so enjoy that fact while we wait for all of you to catch on

The science of space is also usefull for all of us. Weightlessness is a great tool to work with. But what do you mean by catching on? Catching on what if I may ask?

@@FrançoisLadouceur-t7r catching on to whatever discoveries you make wont matter when the bad decisions here on earth get everyone killed cause every government wants complete control of any progress for the BETTERMENT OF EVERYONE NOT JUST 1 COUNTRY if we worked together for the betterment of humanity the governments would have had spaceflight figured out to to get us there faster and more efficiently and have countless resources coming from other places but instead we fight for the limited resources here and we will use the fact that we ran out of resources as another reason to fight each other and if you want more I can keep this shit up with more ways humanity could be better off but wont happen because it wont benefit the those who benefit from the way it currently is

So, if humanity wannna survive not only beyond the existence of planet Earth, when the sun will become a red giant, it will have to escape our own galaxy. Forget Andromeda, it will be to close for comfort. Meh... there's time to think about it🤔. I suggest we explore a new way to live on our beautiful planet in such a turmoil. "That pale blue dot" said the great Carl Sagan. For me, it's a red blood dot. So, so sad. We must understand love, intelligent love.

You're looking at the amount of time that the light from that object has aged relative to the distance it has travelled, by the time that you see it. So it isn't, "looking back in time", you are seeing what that light looks like after having travelled the distance it took for it to be visible to you, from A-origin to B-visible to you, the light is the age of the time it took to reach you, that, is Not "looking back in time". If you think it is, then "time" is irrelevant, you are saying that "time" has no substantive duration, which makes saying "light is x amount of time old" a non-sensical misnomer. The light you see is as old as the time relative to the distance it has travelled, that's what you're looking at, not how that light was when it left its point of origin.
