Not to be negative at all, but hairloss interventions like nutrofol or a laser or anything, need to be proven on people who have chronic hairloss or excessive shedding, not just on people whose hairloss is due to a short term stressor or hormonal shift such as postpartum hairloss. Those temporary sheds remedy on their own with time and thus attributing improvement to any intervention can be deceiving. As a chronic hair shedder of 20 years, I have recognized this.
@DrSamEllis6 ай бұрын
Chronic shedding can be such a frustrating experience, so I’m sorry that you’ve been going through that. What I like about this supplement is that the study was performed against a control group who did not get the supplement - demonstrating that the hair growth observed wasn’t just secondary to the patient “recovering” from a hormonal shift or stressful event. Those who took Nutrafol had significantly more regrowth and I find that compelling.
@Chrissy459996 ай бұрын
@@DrSamEllis Thank you for your kind reply. That's great that they have done some extensive studies on nutrofol. I've been to quite a few derms, and had lots of bloodwork, and am currently on oral monoxidil, spironilactone, and LLLT. Theres been improvement in the thickness, but still excessive shedding. Its tough, but I don't have it as bad as some others, since my scalp density is pretty good, the length retention just isn't there. Your channel is great. Thanks again!

I appreciate all your videos. I've learned a lot from you. Nutrafol contains many ingredients that I already take. It presents an issue. If I try Nutrafol so I can get the additional ingredients that I don't already get, I have to give up my multivitamin and a few other supplements. My multivitamin, however, has other ingredients not found in Nutrafol. Unfortunately, I can't give up my multi. The kinto is also a no-go as I'm reducing plastic as much as I can. For teeth flossing, I use a regular floss, but I follow up with a water pik device. It's a game changer! I never thought about sun damage while driving. I spend a lot of time outdoors. I'm not sure that I can wear the gloves on a hot day when I'm going for a walk. Thank you for the tips.

My concern about a product such as Nutrofol is that it contains a large amount of ingredients. Some of the ingredients may pose problems for some people. And, if a person is taking a daily multiple vitamin supplement as well as the Nutrafol oral supplement, the combination may increase levels of certain ingredients to points that can be problematic. Some of the ingredients can also pose problems if taken in conjunction with prescribed medications for specific medical conditions. I think that these type of supplements containing multiple ingredients should be approached with caution and probably discussed with one's physician.

Just a warning to breastfeeding mamas… I’m 3 months pp and tried nutrafol because of my derms recommendation but it gave my poor baby the WORST stomach cramps and pain. So painful he wouldn’t even let me massage or touch his stomach. I only used it for 3 days and his cramps started the day I started it and ended the day after I quit. Upon further investigation, high levels of biotin can cause nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps for those that take it (which I saw in some of the 1 star Amazon reviews) and I never had those issues taking it but my baby definitely got stomach cramps from it and my diet is very strict so there weren’t any changes in my diet so it’s definitely from the vitamin. The recommended daily biotin for breastfeeding mamas is 35mg and this vitamin contains like 3,000mg.. They claim it’s “breastfeeding friendly” but if you notice your baby is uncomfortable after starting it, I would definitely stop taking the vitamins. It’s not worth it, our hormones will naturally regulate eventually.

Dr. Sam - one of the main reasons that I haven’t tried things like Nutrafol is because it has biotin. There were two times in the past when I took biotin supplements and both times I noticed I happened to break out with cystic acne. I always struggled with cystic acne but both times I was taking the biotin supplement I was also using acne medications that worked super well for me…until I started taking the biotin. Do you know if there’s a connection between biotin and acne breakouts? I’ve spent a lot of time and money and been on many medications to get good skin and I don’t want to jeopardize that on a hair supplement, and yet my hair is in an awful state and I could really benefit from any hair interventions that actually work. I already take minoxidil but it’s not enough.

Hello, I've been following you for some time now & purchasing products that you recommend. I'd like to know what you think about Viviscal for hair regrowth. Looking forward to your expertise. xo from Toronto
