The new claim on these social media sites, moisturizer is bad for your face. It sucks the hydration out of your face and you should only use a serum. I give lol. And I don’t believe that

Here are my personal rules: Never spend more than 30€ on a skincare product. Stick to tretinoin as the main night treatment (which costs 10€ for 30ml), serum + sunscreen during the day. Save money to have 2 to 3 sessions of skin laser done per year (non-ablative Fraxel is my go-to). No alcohol nor smoking. Unsubscribe from most of the skincare influencers. Enjoy your radiant skin! ✨

I was in a car accident when I was 14 and had extensive plastic surgery on my face. I’m now 46 and still have severe scars mainly from my nose down to my top lip and up my left cheek. I had dermabrasion on different areas of my face but I feel like my doctor back then set me up for having a very asymmetrical face because of the type of treatments he did. You can clearly tell which side of my face had the most dermabrasion. My eyes are also uneven because my right eyelid was slightly cut off so when it was reattached it naturally lifted that eye while leaving my left eye sort of droopy. After having children I have noticed even more changes in my appearance. I don’t really know anyone who has had any treatments so I’m not sure where to turn for help. Do you have any other advice for me?

I agree…thank you for being so honest and open about your injections. I’m ready to start getting them myself so this video has really helped me decide what and how to do it. Also, I feel armed with important information that I need to be aware of when choosing a doctor. I wish you were closer to me.

This was informative, thanks!! I was surprised at how young you were when you started, but after you explained your desired usage of fillers, that made sense. Also didn’t know these things could help you not overuse your facial muscles to decrease chance of lines deepening or appearing earlier. Wish I had known that sooner! I’m Asian, and I don’t think I have really bad lines yet at 40, only the smile lines around my mouth are deepening now and feel like my mouth looks a tad saggy.😢 might consider this

I love your recommendations and advice. I got the lumire firm riche eye cream and wasn’t impressed. I personally didn’t see a difference when compared to other eye creams. Have you tried the riche formula? I’m wondering if the original one is better.

@DrSamEllis~ I have Generalized Myasthenia Gravis so as a Dermatologist, YOU KNOW, that injectables like BOTOX are incredibly dangerous and potentially life threatening for patients like me. With that said, there's a dangerous trend in regular skincare products, for brands to include certain "neuro-peptides" in their formulas marketed to "Smooth Fine Lines & Wrinkles". These neuro-peptides have been developed by skincare chemists with the intent of being "Botox Inspired". Below is a list of these neuro-peptides which have the potential to trigger serious health complications in people with MG, ALS, and other similar diseases. The problem is there are NO WARNING LABELS on products to educate ALL consumers! I've had to do the medical and chemical research on these ingredients to keep myself safe. These aren't exactly easy to remember names! I've created a "Note" in my cell phone with an ongoing list of these Chemical Names & Trade Mark Names for quick reference. Here are of some of the neuro-peptides that I'm talking about: 1) Argireline aka: Argirelox Chemical Name: Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 2) Leuphasyl Chemical Name: Pentatpetide-18 3) X50 MYOCEPT. Chemical Compound made up of: Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-18 and Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-52 4) Acetyl Octapeptide-3 AKA: SNAP8 Dr Sam, I understand that cosmetics and skincare products are not regulated by the FDA, thus the lack of warning labels..... but I sure could use an Advocate in the my corner to start this discussion with skincare brands. We need consumer education and awareness. Thanks ~~ Christy~~

Wow I’ve seen 4 skin drs for yearly checks (it runs in family) and never did they ask me anything beyond the basic medical question and spends so little Time on my body that I don’t think they looked. Have red spot that comes up and goes away and opens and closes, she didn’t even look/ just said oh ok.

@Dr Sam Ellis~ Question: Regarding the hormone shifts that occur in pregnancy causing skin tags, have you seen skin tags occurring in Peri-menopause-Menopause patients who are taking HRT? I ask because as I entered peri-menopause and started HRT, I developed a VERY slow growing skin tag, just 1.5 mm from the outer corner of my eye. It has now reached the point that it's easily irritated & inflamed, so I have an appt w/dermatologist to remove it. I tried to have it removed 6 years ago, but when I consulted a dermatologist it was deemed "cosmetic". I was frustrated by that assessment because I have Generalized Myasthenia Gravis which causes significant eyelid drooping and double vision, so the weight of the skin tag worsened the situation for me. But at the time, I had two kids in college and no extra money! I do believe the hormone shifts in my body triggered this skin tag. Waaaayyy back when I was pregnant with my 2 kids, I developed two tiny skin tags: one just outside of my armpit which I accidentally shaved off (LOL!!) & one just outside my right breast areola. Fingers crossed, this new dermatologist will see the "medical necessity" of removing the one on my eye this time! Thanks~~ Christy~~

My dad is a retired dermatologist with 30 years of practice. Unless he got something fancy for free from a vendor he used CeraVe or Cetaphil. I used to work in cosmetics and would buy the overpriced stuff. Now I use La Roche Posay only and my skin has never looked better for a fraction of the cost of my old skincare routine.

Having taught kids in a pretty rural area, you should also check people who worked on farms or as a roofer. I knew multiple teens working in their family business who looked like leather by the end of the summer. And that was in Alaska 😅
