I like being a company driver. I owned my own truck outright and had to sell it in 2008 during the recession. After that I went company and didn't look back. I've been with this company for 12 years and I am pretty much an owner operator without the responsibility. I pick my loads, I am home every day if I want to and I don't go anywhere that I don't want to. Leasing is ok if you're willing to live in the truck, I'm not at this point in my life. Another 15 years or so and I'm going to retire. I will have 40 years in the industry at that point and that's good enough.

@Brett2353 ай бұрын
@@jeffreycoon9634 I would but the boss doesn't like his name being out there, his name is the name of the company. He only hires local guys, you have to have 5 years experience with no tickets or wrecks in those 5 years. He has 20 trucks, peterbilts, kenworths and classics. We haul mainly local lumber and steel freight to dedicated customers, we don't mess with brokers.

Going by the comments i see most people do not know how to read a contract before signing or how to counter offer a contract. I don't have a single fleeced friend in a lease purchase program. The buddy making the least made 90k after taxes, payments, 401k(solo), health insurance etc. 90k after all costs driving light guy takes a week off every month to be home. Buddy with the best made 210k after all payments etc. a must to have is a clause that no matter what if your out driving the loads you will not be cut a check less 500$ if that means they differ a payment interest and penalty free or cover fuel etc, then thats what they have to do.

It’s only knowledge if he’s telling you what NOT TO DO. Any trucker making KZbin Videos are either sitting somewhere without a load, or sitting in a dock bored to death waiting to get loaded or unloaded, So they make KZbin videos to try and supplement all the money they’re losing. That’s why they always say PLEASE HIT THE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE BUTTON. If you’re really trying to help people, you will never have to say that. The Video would sell itself!!! IMO.
@truckingenius2 ай бұрын
@Solitaryman70 you will never find me saying that in my videos. I've never said those words, have no intention of saying those words. I DO ask people to comment, and even to email me questions. As for your theory that I'm sitting somewhere without a load of waiting to unload, 1) I average almost 3200 miles each week and 2) when I'm waiting to be loaded or unloaded I'm editing videos,, planning routes, budgeting and several other things so NO I'm not sitting around twiddling my thumbs killing time I'm actually being productive which if you were doing the same you wouldn't be wasting time criticizing others. But here's a question for you....... you've clearly got all the answers and have everything figured out so my question is this....if you're so smart why aren't you rich? Why are you driving a truck? Why are you so concerned about what others are or are not doing?

I think you misunderstand. I'm not encouraging anyone to lease purchase. I am explaining how they work, what to look for and be wary of, and try to help people understand the facts about lease purchase. So.e people, no lease purchase is definitely not right but for some it could be a perfect solution for them. Everyone has a different situation and some people can gain from the RIGHT TYPE of lease purchase. Super Ego is among the worst in the industry. @truckingenius8 ай бұрын
It's going to vary, somewhat depending on the year of the truck. So, for example, a 2023 may cost $880.00 per week BUT there's another 12 cents per mile charge in addition. The contract for the 2023 year model truck would be for a term of approximately my 260 weeks (5 years) The .12 cents per mile is supposed to be YOUR money and used for maintenance related items such as PM and tires but you won't get that money if you leave. I've yet to find anyone who has ever completed the lease purchase agreement and actually received the title to their truck.

MONTHS AND MONTHS AT A TIME, AND YOU STILL WON’T MAKE IT. Living in the truck won’t help you either if you have too much Truck Payments. Truckers need to have the mindset that they will never EVER drive a truck for less than $100K a YEAR which can be easily done. Corporations know this, that’s why they’re forcing all the Professional American Drivers out of the industry and replacing us with IMMIGRANTS. AMERICA FIRST MY A$$$$$$.
