Not that fast. Kariya is about equal with Bondra, Selänne and Mogilny. Back in the day Bure, Fedorov and Kapanen were seen as the fastest guys and Gartner before that. Scott Niedermayer and Paul Coffey were Kariya level defenders.

I was always thinking agility while skating, pavel bure was the Russian rocket for a reason, but only straight, there were alot of players that were faster laterally

This video is so wrong I don't even know where to start? It is obvious that the person who made this video has a poor knowledge of hockey. Maurice Richard was not a great skater, he was a strong player that drove the net with force and ability. Bobby Orr is the player that change the speed of hockey. Paul Coffey was an excellent skater. Petr Klima was another one. Yvan Cournoyer was a fast skater.

Adding to that I'd expect the record holder in fastest skater competition - Dylan Larkin would at least get a honorable mention

Larkin cheated. I’m from Detroit and if you watch the competition he used a running start. His title is nonsense. Mike Gartner is the real champion still.
