Totally agree! He always has some sort of special touch when he skates. You just couldn't take your eyes off him. Some call it aura, some call it charm, some say charisma. Whatever they call, we know we are so lucky to have the chance to watch this sport when he's playing. 💕

Yes he always do that as a form of appreciation to the ice. This boy is so precious. Somehow we are so used to it that we forgot it's something that's worth mentioning. sasha's cantilever is even more impressive than shoma's, she puts her hands over her head while he just puts his arm down. if she slipped she wouldn't be able to put her hands down. so insane

During the spread eagle part I was just waiting for the Yuzuru part because how?? How could any mention of spread eagle not mention yuzuru?? He literally uses that as entrances and exits from jumps, and does outside edge spread eagle into inside edge spread eagle that just looks beautiful!

I know someday someone will be more graceful and amazing than Yuzuru. But the fact that he's the Ice Prince will always stay in my heart. When I watch others, it feels like they are just motivated to get medals or enjoy skating at bigger stage. But when I watch Yuzuru, thats not the case at all. It feels like everything turns white, like he's just dancing beautifully on air without people or the pressure of competition. He brings me on another world and its humbly amazing. My Ice Prince😍

Amazing talented people, it's so mesmerising how they can do all that on ice, while somehow i still manage to trip over thin air while walking in a straight line on solid ground... If i were to choose a favourite figure skating move, it would definitely be Yuzuru's hydroblade, I don't really know how to put in words, it's just...beautiful. The elegance, the gracefulness, the way he touches the ice (not to mention when he kissed the ice during Haru Yo Koi...that, for me, was one of the most beautiful moments in figure skating history), it's the perfect tribute to the ice. I also love Shoma's Cantilever (i guess i have a weakness for moves where the skaters get to touch the ice).

Remember Yagudin's and Jouber's steps, Candeloro's ankle pirouette, Anissina lifting up Peyzerat, Lambiel's unique spins, Bonaly's back jumping ? Yes I think Robin Cousins holds the Guinness book of records for the longest back flip. Always loved Scott Hamilton’s barrel rolls. There have been some great skaters but I think Yuzu is the GOAT, he’s got the whole package.

I don't know what to think on all the examples, but appreciate the compilation. Stating this was about signature moves, I definitely know some make these moves their own. I wouldn't just call it a hydroblade because someone bends down to touch the ice or a spread eagle when it looks like they were just prepping to jump. Least not that they're examples of a signature move for those skaters yet. Could have pulled older skaters too for examples. Qwan is still one of the prettiest and iconic spirals.

Why didn’t you feature Trusova’s cantilever???? She was excelling at this amazing feat as a JR, unfortunately her coach packed so many quads (which NO ONE, even her fellow skaters trained by the notorious Tutberidze “team” could come close to performing consistently) that her fiery artistry got lost at the Bejing Olympics. Watch her Jr. skating competitions AND her “Wonder Woman” Gala Exhibition. She loves having skating duos with the Men’s “quad kings” too, just for fun. The Tutberidze team purposely choreographed her program without letting her shine. I’m not surprised at all about her hurt and anger at winning Silver and not Gold! She can and has shown more fierce artistry than Scherbakova when her choreographers allowed her to. I mean WHY pack her program with quad after quad (diminishing her own artistry) when her competitors had only one type of quad, or in Valieva’s case had several, but they were so pre-rotated to be considered full blade assist? I hope Trusova leaves the Tutberidze camp that threw her under the bus in Bejing.

おもしろかったです。フィギュアにはジャンプがなくても魅せられる技がたくさん。でもジャンプ重視の時代になってこういう技をゆっくり見られるプログラムが減ってしまいましたね。羽生君のハイドロなんか長かったフリーだからこそ目も眩む見せ場だったのに。最後のコーチシーンを見て思うのは、股関節のウルトラ柔軟性とあの姿勢を支えて起き上がる筋力がなければ難しいということ。男女両方の長所を兼ね備えた羽生君しかできない要素なんですね。

はい！多くのスケーターはハイドロを行うことができます。 しかし、羽生君のようにハイドロを行うことはできません。 彼の動きはとても滑らかでいいです!! 多分彼の「骨盤」はこの動きに本当に適しています。「笑」😂😆

骨盤のせいではないと思いますよ あの柔軟性は生まれ持ったものではありませんし筋力もそうです 基礎力の高さも生まれ持ったものではありません バク転ができるのも骨組みのせいですか？ すべては日々の努力の積み重ねの賜物ですよ

I hope that when Yuzuru's competitive career is over, he will become a coach or the head of the ISU. Can you imagine being an up and coming figure skater and having the legendary GOAT as your coach? Also, I think that Yuzuru is the only one who can save figure skating and prevent it from becoming a "jumping bean" competition, as that's the direction we seem to be heading in. His thesis is quite frankly, brilliant, and the sport needs someone of his caliber as the head of the ISU to survive.

We are focusing mainly on the current competing skaters. We only use retired skaters as reference. Btw, we did include Sasha Cohen in the edge changing spiral vs Evgenia Medvedeva's spiral. Hope it clarifies :)
