All the videos take a lot of time to put together with researching, testing, scripting, filming, editing etc. But like most of the HA content creators we do it because we enjoy sharing, teaching and helping other. Thank you for your kind words.

How do I get the thermostat card to turn the ac on after a power outage. The when Home Assistant reboots the car is turned off and I have to go in and turn it on. I’m using a relay to control my hvac with esp32 and esphome.
@smart_home_australia6 ай бұрын
Interesting problem. Although I have not tried this myself as I have whole house UPS, you could try using a helper toggle switch. Use the card to toggle the helper, then insert an automation to set the AC power based on the helper.

How diffcult would it be to create our own HVAC card? Maybe edit one thats already built to our personal taste. The options are ok just the over all design of all these cards leaves much to be desired

HI @Traci_S_Aaron, Never really looked into it myself, but yes it would be good to try and although there are usually cards out there to service most requests, they always seem to have some small feature that is missing :), check out this link for an idea on how to do it yourself. shorturl.ac/7cv4o

The maximum temperature for Lovelace thermostat cards in Home Assistant can be customized, but by default it is typically set to 35°C (95°F).

Only issue with the better thermostat ui card is the lack of ability to change the colors. The page shows different colors but there is no apparent way to do this. Im still stuck on that.
