I am from South Carolina, US and have traveled all over America. L.A., Chicago, New York etc.. To me, Khabarovsk in the far east of Russia was one of the most crime free cities I have every experienced. Even though I don't speak Russian (try that in America), everyone was very respectful and courteous to me. The Russians walked around with apparently no fear. Even in the alley behind my apartment building at all hours of the night. Compared to America, I think it's a myth that Russia is a dangerous place.

I went to Ulan-Ude while living in Russia with my girlfriend in the winter in 2019 and met many drunken people on the streets and in restaurants, but for some reason I loved this city and the Buryat people. I even played foosball in a bar with a bunch of drinking Buryats who were super nice! Also the food was awesome and I bought myself some fur boots. But I didn't even know it was so dangerous until seeing this!

Russia has actually been ranked as one of the top 10 most dangerous countries on Earth since 2012. I would not dare set foot in Russia, because of gang activity and drug use. And plus Russia is a terrible country to live in, because of hatred and violence. So you would be safer in America than you would be in any city in Russia.

I walked everywhere at all hours of the day and night. NEVER ONCE was I scared for my personal safety and never ONCE did I meet "a former prisoner". It was February 2017 and I stayed at the Siber Hotel across the street from a bank. I can’t remember the name, but it had a large green neon sign. I loved the breakfast and dinner meals at the hotel in their dining hall. The first morning I was there, it was a cold winter morning with the wind blowing. There was a coffee bar and when I ordered coffee speaking in Russian and told the barista “Ya Amerakonski” he was real nice. The hotel staff was wonderful. However, not really knowing the city, I stayed pretty close to the train station and the surrounding area. I took the train out to the state university. And went to the railroad museum. I love the P37 steam locomotive and the railroad cars from before the Bolshevik Revolution.

Dear Svetlana. I would love to come back to Novosibirsk sometime. I would love to get in the Russian Foreign Language at Volgograd State University where the Battle of Stalingrad took place from August 1942 till 03 February 1943. I am a history fan of WWII in the East. I watched all of the 23 or 24 episodes of Soviet Storm WWII in the East, made for Russian Television in 2011. It’s narrated in English by I think someone in the UK. But right now I have a house, three dogs, two cats and no help. And I am Orthodox. I went to Alexander Neveskey Church in Novosibirsk. It’s quite a history as the Bolsheviks tried to blow it up two or three times in 1938 without success.@@SvetlanaVoikova

@@robertbrouillette6767 wow.. you know more about Russian places than any teenager of the current generation from Russia. They don't want to know history at all. I also really want to visit Volgograd, I was traveling by train and from afar I saw the sculpture “Motherland”, it is huge, I imagine that if I see it close, it will give me goosebumps. My son and I also love animals very much, and the child really asks that we have a dog or cat at home, but due to the fact that every summer we go somewhere on vacation to Russian places, this is impossible. But we have a cat cafe in our city where we can come and play with cats all day long :) You are an amazing person, perhaps because you are Orthodox, you are so drawn to Russia. One day you will have the opportunity to realize your dreams and plans! And I wish you good luck too..🙂

Idk, I lived in Perm 32 years and spent some time in the district that's considered one of the most dangerous. I went there mostly at night by the way. Still don't know why people say it's so dangerous. It was fine. But I guess living through the 90s in Perm gave me a really good idea of when and where to go and where not to if you want to keep all your health and stuff :) Living in Moscow now, for sure it's feels way safer than Perm although I never considered Perm dangerous

I lived in Perm 3 years (and I'm going back there soon) I'm not Russian and i find it funny when someone tells me it's dangerous it's absolutely safe for usual citizens and even when you go for a walk at 4 AM and absolutely everywhere around the city there is no risk of being assaulted or provoked for a man (I'm not a woman i can't say for the opposite gender) You said that living in Perm used to be fine, today it became really a secured place, and idk from where this girl came with her statistics You foreigners need to know that the Russians inherited a sort of psychose from the 90", they were so shocked from these years that they are still feeling the psychological impact today I'm from Algeria, when you tell me it is dangerous in Закамск or индустриальный район or even вышка вторая i imagine it like it's a place where you can die ... but the worse you can live is being disturbed by some alcoholics at 2am on Saturday morning

One of your best video because of the content. It is interesting and when the whole mess will be solved it could be useful knowing about these dangerous place I've never heard of before. coincidence: Tuva is home to shoighu, Buryat republic has the highest death toll in the SO, so their cruelty now has an explanation. About Magadan, I knew it along petropavlosk because they are the furthest remote cities in Russia, I knew the bone road of 2000km to Magadan, never thought it was so dangerous. I think Russia has no highest crime rate than other part of the world Europe or USA included. Surely it's not switzerland, but in Moscow I felt more safety than in Milan or Rome. Only in the outskirt - the receptionist of my hotel said me - there are crimes but it's obviously. Perm comes with a surprise, I've learn in youtube people are rude over there but not about the ex-inmates pestering the city. It's also quite big and important in the Ural region! Hope you can do these honest and humour contents, despite the tragedy ongoing Russia worth to be discovered under different circumstances in the future - I believe more connections with the rest of the world would help people develop and get rid of drugs/alchool . YOu do drugs when you have nothing to do plus no hopes for the future. Hope you will stay safe and authorities will leave you in peace.

you know, in Russia there are thousands of Ukrainians or mixed bloods, Russians + Ukrainians. My grandmother is also Ukrainian, but I have lived in Russia all my life. Nobody needs war, especially since our country, including Ukraine, during the Soviet era lost 27 million people during the Second World War. Young people don’t want to know history; in Ukraine it was completely rewritten. We, the older generation, know history and all the events preceding this conflict. The West is behind this fratricidal war, and the West is not at all sorry that the Slavs are dying, they are only making bloody money from this war.

4:40 It's basic in France. In my small town a girl has been killed for a cigarette. Lots of independant seeking French peoples seek Russia and Easter Country and it is said that people are more respectful and It's secure. In France It's not secure at all and nowhere ! I don't know If It's really better in Russia or not but stats say Its better from what Ive seen and russian people Ive met are well spoken, not stressed, well balanced unlike French people. I really enjoy Russian people they always seem chill. (Including you and the people in your videos)

Hi! Of course I agree that there is a correlation in between the strength of the local economy and the local crime rates. However the standard of living has improved drastically all over the world. People generally have food and a roof over their heads in any place in the world. As a consequence the economic reasons for crime are disappearing from the world map. So the argument you make about the correlation in between crime and the strength of the economy is valid but it is also becoming old fashioned and out-of-date. I know that the divorce rate in Russia is among the highest in the world. The absence of a stable family unit is also a very high predictor for crime rates. In places with an unstable family unit people are much more vulnerable towards an unstable economy. That makes sense because in bad times people fall back on their families of course. It would be interesting to see if there seems to be a correlation in between crime rates and divorce rates in different places in Russia. Because I would bet that unstable families lead to higher crime rates. Nice channel. Thank you! :)

Honestly, I feel safer anywhere in Russia than here in North America. I traveled multiple times in Russia alone before and visited small villages and met many drunk citizens on the street. I never felt any danger there even when I was outside at 2 am. It is for the simple reason that people there are kind in nature.

Bit of a generalization lol if you don’t feel safe anywhere in America then I think that’s a personal problem of yours
@ax.f-1256
@ax.f-1256 5 ай бұрын
Well that's an American problem. Or more precisely a US-American problem. The US is not designed to be safe. In fact it is not even meant to be safe. It's meant to be as dangerous as possible. Because with fear people are much much easier controllable for the government. And fearful people would pay every price and buy everything to make themselves feel safer. Because in reality the US wants the country to be as dangerous as possible. That's why the police in the US is so bad. They are not meant to fight crime or serve the community. They are meant to escalate every situation as much as they can to arrest as many people as possible. Or in other words the police in the US is meant *to create crime and violence* where there is none, while simultaneously allowing many of the real dangerous criminals to walk free to keep the fear in the population as high as possible. If you ask yourself why. Just Google prison Industrial Complex. Prisons in the US are basically labor camps for slaves. Just in modern times. In most (if not all) US states inmates can NOT refuse to work in prison otherwise that fact of refusing to work in prison will even increase you prison sentence. So they are cheap and free labor for the big corporations that cooperate with prison. The tax payer pays for the inmates. Private for profit cooperations benefit from them. So the system is designed to have as many people in prison as possible as free work force for big corporations. So naturally the managers of those companies have absolutely no interest in making the community safer, but they have an interest to get as many prison inmates as they can. Because they need them as free labor. That is also the reason why prison inmates in the US are treated so harsh. --> to mentally break them. To make them as mentally sick and violent as possible to ensure that if they ever get released, they would almost immediately end up back in prison because they have been mentally broken. The system in the US is designed to work exactly in that way. Same with the ever increasing number of school- and mass shootings. The US government knows very well what the reason for that is. The mass closure of mental asylums. So no you have mentally unstable people without any psychological treatment walking around and buying guns. People that should not walk around without getting medication. And they will of course go crazy sooner or later. And with the police force being as bad as they are. They are (by design) powerless to stop them. So the American public will demand more safety, which they don't get amd they will therefore buy even more guns to protect themselves. Which in turn creates even more revenue for the same large corporations that created the problem in the first place. And that is the reason for the high crime rate in the US. It's that high but design, because you call sell everything to fearful people to create more revenue for you big corporation. And then you take some of that money as donations to the political parties to make sure that they will create even more laws to keep the crime rate as high as possible. Or in short version: Prisons, the gun industry, security services and manufacturers of security systems benefit a lot from a high crime rate. And they want to keep the crime rate as high as possible. And that is why the crime rate is so high in America.
