Welcome to my vlog about my life in Russia.
If you watch videos from Russian bloggers about Russia, you might see a lot of videos about prices in our supermarkets, maybe rent prices as well. But the bloggers sometimes don't compare the prices with our salary or mention just the average salary. I chose another way. I will tell you how much I get paid and then I will see, what I can afford to buy. I can't tell you about the cost of living in Moscow or the cost of living in Saint Petersburg, because I'm not from there. I'm from Chelyabinsk, so I will tell you about the cost of living here.
You can support my channel here: boosty.to/rusgirl/donate or here: www.tinkoff.ru/rm/smolina.nat...

I get paid 1,600 British Pounds every 4 weeks working a basic office job in a small English town, which equals 187,110.62 roubles. My rent is £600 (70,166.48 roubles). Bills like water/electricity/gas/council tax are £300 (35,083.24). This leaves me £700 (81,860.90) for food and doing things with my girlfriend every month. Just a little comparison for you from a UK viewer.

In Chelabynsk oblast average salary is 50,034RUB, that's $543. But it's for the entire oblast, my guess is that the number for the city is higher. She should quit your job and find another better-paid one: I visited the website superjobs ru, there are a lot of job ads on that website. In Chelabynsk there 12527 job ads. Out of those 5875 jobs are for the salary from 35k RUB to 60k RUB, 2947 jobs from 60k RUB to 85k, 1560 from 85k RUB to 110k, 1213 from 110k RUB to 135k, 932 from 135k RUB. That what I've read. I know Chelabynsk is an industrial city, I guess with mostly heavy industry. Companies like Mechel offer jobs for 50k RUB salary and above. I found Mechel offers 84 jobs on that website.

Hello from Romania, I just married a Russian lady, in december 2023 and I know very well, from her, how is life in Russia. She is from Moscow, where the salaries are bigger than in other cities. Her salary was 500 Euro. What I want to say is that when she comes here in Romania, she still thought as being in Moscow and when I went to the market she wrote me a list with what to buy and it was like this: - three tpmatoes; - two peppers, - half a kilogram of cherries - few onions etc. I told her that here nobody is doing like this, we are buying kilograms of something. Ans then she explained me that she couldn't afford to buy kilograms and the rest that you've explained very well in your video. Such a pity that a country such reach in oil, gas, minerals, technology, cannot offer (...for the moment) a better life to it's inhabitants. My wife explained me which are the main reasons (mafia, corruption, oligarchs, etc.). You are producing a lot of goodies, but most of them are being routed direct to export, for big money by the mafiots who captured Russia like an octopus. I wish you all the best and keep you hope alive. Better days will come, that's for sure !!
@natyrusa
@natyrusa 4 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Let me also explain you something. About kilos. I don't need to buy kilos of vegetables, because it's too much. I don't want them to get spoiled. About rich country. It's rich, okay, but I get my salary not from a country, but just from another person. So, our oil, gas, minerals don't affect my salary at all. There's no connection between them and the amount of our school clients.

Yes. Nearly all videos by both Russians and non Russians about Russia fail to include this historical fact into their accounts and perspective on Russia... Russians COULD be 10 times richer if it were not for the fact that during the dissolution of the USSR; 100+ thieving corrupt oligarchs bought up over 90% of the wealth of Russia... AND the subsequent fact: That Putin has protected these filthy rich billionaires for over 20 years... AND that as a result of this, the entire Russian govt and military became even more corrupt than it was during the USSR.

I traveled to Russia in April 24th. Just came back to the States. I've made a point to live on 300 rubels for 3 days. 300 rubels =3 dollars. Transportation was paid in advance already for the entire month. Ie 30O rubels were for the food only. As a result , based on what I bought, it lasted for 3 days . Ie , there's no way to live in New York on $3, but in Moscow being frugal, one can go without being hungry on 300 rubels.

As a Moscow dweller I can tell you that the income difference is very significant. A typical paraprofessional office worker salary in Moscow ranges from 30 - 70 thousand, depending on your experience and place of work. Middle-class income in a professional sphere is anywhere from 60 - 500 thousand. Just for reference, a bus ticket in Moscow costs 65 rubles. A taxi ride is typically around 1000 rubles within city limits, but can vary anywhere from 400 - 3000 depending on distance, time of day, weather, etc. A weekly trip to a grocery store for one person is around 2000 rub. A comfortable, stress-free middle class life is around 150 thousand rubles a month if you own property. And for renters it's about 220 thousand. Obviously, these figures are only an estimate based on my own experience in Moscow and I'm sure they vary from person to person :)

Thanks for shedding a light on how you manage the day to day life with your salary. What about the housing cost? I assume you perhaps own an apartment therefore you don't have to pay rent. Say if you were to be paying the rent, how much would that be per month? I would also assume that the pay scale would vary very differently from city to city as the cost of living is different therefore it would be nice if you could provide your sudience with a bit of context, otherwise it doesn't make much sense. Thanks

Спасибо, мадам for your interesting living costs presentation. If you don’t already do so, I suggest you do regular bookkeeping and register monthly income and costs, also for coming months. Prioritize - what is essential and among disposable funds what deserves priority. From my perspective there is a fair amount of fluff in your spending, but then again there are extra costs as a working gal, while I am retired. FYI in Turku, FI my monthly pension is about 1430 €, while rent is 670 € and food costs 300 €. From the remainder I also donate to good causes and the needy. Health being so vital, it’s good to find out causes for dis-ease (backache or whatever). Is it lack of proper nutrition or regular exercise, etc, and to set about remedying that! There are many ways to “stretch” money: plan ahead, cook your own meals and take to work, make use of thrift shops and free cultural events, etc. Удачи!

@@natyrusa I think usually those small one are more expensive. I think most important is buy this what you really need. For example LOTO no need, in my case I don't need message, things which we need is food. We look prices... in my case those Russian prices is not high, biggest problem is visa, with Serbian passport I can stay only 30 days in Russia while in Germany I can stay 90 days in 180 days. It means I go to Germany work, for example per month I save 1000 euros, 3 month 3000 euros minimum, but when is summer can save more, per month in July I saved last summer 1500.... problem is I can't stay same 90 days in Russia. Problem is place where I can stay while I am waiting this 90 days outside of Germany. I don't know if it's possible for foreigner to buy village house in Russia, even far east, just that it's cheap. To rent I am afraid, for example I go to Germany to work people steel from me, or biggest problem visa issue. If buy such houses can I get visa. Only way which I know to get visa is to join special military operation which I would never do. I look on internet Serbian people doing that but it's prohibited by Serbian low, and I am coward, I would afraid to go there.... I don't know how to be Russian citizen and do not go to war?

Hi, thank you for your questions. The apartment rent price here is different and depends on various factors. I think, it starts from 15K rubles. You can search for a website Avito Chelyabinsk and choose rent ads. There you will see different apartments and different prices. The average or the medium salary in my city, according to the statistics, is 50K rubles, but I don't think that the statistics is real, because I barely know someone who gets 50K per month, mostly people here get less if they aren't the heads at their works.
