A list only a Newbee can give. The real insight would be to find places that are green, close to posh places and still inexpensive. For example Aundh Road / Khadki is green, cheap and close to all good places. So in south, Ghorpadi close MG, Kalyani Nagar. The trick is to find places next to army centres and educational institutes as they are green and pretty centralised.

When did you last visit Baner Balewadi ? That is the new number 1 location and is better than KP. With metro connectivity, it will even be better. A whole new city is developing with Baner-Balewadi at its centre.

West Pune Tathawade is a upcoming residential area you missed out to mention. It's adjacent to Wakad near Bhumkar Chowk. Pheonix Millennium Mall is walkable distance and has very good connectivity to Hinjewadi, Baner and Pcmc areas. Lots of schools and major hospitals are near. I find Tathawade is much better planned and economical than Wakad.

You have given extra emphasis on cafes & malls. For a good & healthy lifestyle, you actually need green spaces, fresh air & clean water. Most societies in Pune provide filthy, dirty tanker water and shortage of it in summers. Fresh air is now become luxury because of over construction and development. Green spaces are lost. Change your perspective for the betterment of this society. We do not just need malls & cafes

Absolutely correct....Why cafes and malls are needed nearby? (very wierd criteria). Most people visit these places once in a while (if at all they get time and energy to waste), and it doesn't matter if they near or not. Yes, offices and schools, where you need to go daily, are important to be near, or to be an easy drive.

Best place to live is Magarpatta Best location would be baner, aundh, balewadi as its in middle of city Everything would 15 to 20km away If you want old city vibe then FC Road, SB Road, Prabhat nagar, JM Road, Kothrud

Viman nagar is beautiful, kharadi is slightly behind in terms of lively atmosphere Remember that you will travel twice a day for work but for leisure only few times a week I would have chosen Kharadi for myself Hope it helps

The presence of jail in that locality does not affect the residence, per my experience. Since your office is going to be in Yerwada, the places you can consider for living could be Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar, Vishrantwadi, Tingre Nagar, Dhanori/Lohegaon, in the descending order of their costs, and ascending order of their distance from your office.
