Another great part in “The Avatar and the Firelord” is that when Iroh tells Zuko about his two great-grandfathers, when Sozin is mentioned, we see the scarred side of Zuko’s face. When Roku is mentioned to be his maternal great grandfather, the camera pans to the unscarred side. Given that the scar is from the Agni Kai and is seen as a mark of dishonour, I find it speaks extra to Spain’s character in a subconscious way. That being said, if it was a list of best Avatar moments? SECRET TUNNEL!!

One of the best is *THE PAINTED LADY* ... it not just picks up a myth within the show, but is transformed into something real. The lesson is: not just to have/keep your faith when things are bad BUT.... also to DO SOMETHING and change the world for the better! -together... Plus: Sokkas and Katara- the dialogue between them, wow. "I will never turn my back on people who need me" "And I will never turn my back on you" Those lines define both of them perfectly and it is delivered as powerful as it gets. We all saw the disgusting surrounding before and now whats on the line (not just the village) jet they dont break but try to help EVERYONE...no one is left behind or this entire journey would be pointless! HRmf!

I wish he added Sokka’s Master as one on the list. It really shows the development of Sokka and his insecurities of not having powers. It also pays attention to detail with the lotus on the sword master’s door.

While I loved “Souzin’s Comet” it might have benefited being just 3 parts to tighten up the pacing. I felt like it dragged or purposefully padded itself out to make it 4 episodes, especially Aang’s scenes while he was “missing”. But the one thing that I would really deduct points for would be we never found out what happened to Zuko’s mom. And don’t give me that “they did a comic about it” (which was great) b***shit! The series ended in 2008 (after the second half of season 3 was put on hiatus for nearly 9 months!) and the comic The Search didn’t finish until a month AFTER Korra season 2 premiered!
