On FB one person posted that she was short 10 beads to finish a project and there were a bunch of offers to ship that person some beads so she could finish. It's probably one of the coolest aspects of social media. I'm keeping an eye out for beginning beadweaver kits. I've love to see you give it a try!

I’ve definitely shared or lent art supplies to friends and they’ve lent me art supplies. It’s a way to have access to colors you may not have, but the other person does. Or I find a unique watercolor paper and you cut it into smaller sheets and share some of the smaller sheets with others. And they do the same with me. We also share durable art supplies, like heat guns or expensive compass sets, just so the other person doesn’t have to buy that thing. It really creates an art community doing so. I recommend it! I’ve found so many supplies and colors I possibly wouldn’t have tried if I had to buy it outright. But because I was able to test them out beforehand, I learned what was useful and what ended up being not worth spending money on,

Hey Jackie! :D Pan Pastels are basically super soft pastel paints. And they're easier to use than pastel sticks without dust and dirty hands. You use kind of makeup sponges to apply them on your paper or other surfaces (even canvas!). Plus you can completly erase them! They are fantastic if you want to go for realism because it's easy to mix the colours with each other. So you only need a few ones for a great colour range.

And as for dollar stores/100 yeb shops, I recommend Seria, they have the cutest craft/diy section from any of the 100 yen shops. I love Pan Pastels! I've gotten the here in the US at art-dedicated shops. Basically they're super-compressed chalk pastels that you use sponges with to transfer color. They're very highly pigmented too, so you don't get as much of the lightening of colors that chalk pastels can sometimes have

I wish we had more shops in America where you could test out the art supplies. The shops you went to have a sincere vibe, it feels like they really care about what someone is buying, and the craft. A lot of times I feel like I'm just being sold things in American shops, without much care towards the quality or my craft. Of course there are some quirky products in the Japanese shops, but it still gives off a different vibe than the gimmicky things I see in America. I would love to go to the Sekaido shop you visited.

She asked "do you want anything of mine?" so I said "sure!" It was fun though!

so happy to have found this channel! Oh, coincidentally, yesterday when i was at dollarama i found a little picture with a narwhal and a rainbow that said 'salty but sweet.' It just about made my whole entire life so understandably i had to buy it.

I've used Pan pastels for creating backgrounds and decorations for my calligraphy pieces. You apply and spread it with a sponge or just your finger. I'd say the consistency of it is bit like chalk pastel. It's pretty simple and easy to use, spreads really easily and gives you a nice smooth surface. I have used only light colors and had to use quite a bit for it to create a vibrant looking color. I like them, because it's easy way to put some color and add something subtle put interesting to a piece where the writing is the main focus. A background of soft pink, blue and purple is much more beautiful than just harsh white after all. 😄

I don’t share every one of your interests, but you have played a big roll in my branching out into new areas of interest in my world. At 61, I don’t have a heck of a lot of time to keep getting new hobbies, but I’m having a blast developing related hobbies, so that many of the supplies for each are interchangeable. (My bank still hates me) And a silly side note is that I’ve gotten into Rement poseable skeleton figures and set ups. Lol...You give this grandma great joy, my dear!

I’ve been playing June’s Journal since January and love it!! In other matter, sometimes I share my supplies with my sister, as she does with me, when I’m not using something and she might like it and find a use for it...

Pan Pastels are like soft pastels but with even less binder so you get a huge pigment payoff with very little dust fallout. Can be used on their own or applied before or after other art media, they're very easy to smudge unless fixated though. The recommended way to apply the pigments are with tools I can only describe as small sponges on a stick, it's very easy to blend and layer the pastels with these but it can be done with other tools as well. They're very fun and are great for people who like the idea of the chalk type pastels but can't stand to touch them (which is apparently a very common thing) or hates the huge piles of pigment dust they usually leave.

I shared art supplies a lot while I was at art school in Australia and still do with my closest artist friends when we get together for our little art days in. Were we spend a day or night watching movies have a couple of drinks get food delivered and make art together.

If you’re in the US, keep a look out for Daiso too! My local mall got one recently and although there was a lot less crafting stuff, but there is a ton of styling in general that you normally wouldn’t find here so it’s worth the look!

I lend my friends who also cosplay and construct cosplay things my sewing supplies a lot x3 because I have A LOT. I got so much from my aunt who gets stuff from house auctions and when my grandparents died from cleaning out their house. So since I have so much, I can always share x3

This makes me feel very thankful that we have Daiso and Tokyu Hands (albeit much smaller versions) in Singapore! Especially Daiso, because elsewhere can get really expensive!

I haven't lent out supplies, but I've shared them with some friends to let them try them out. Craft nights are a fun cheap night with friends.
