#1 - Judge was way out of line. The attorney didn't say anything remotely like a threat toward her children. His words started out to be something to the effect of, "If it was your children that someone brought up like the other side did, you would be upset." Then, somewhat ironically, she went nuts even though her children were NOT spoken of in any negative way, let alone was no threat directed at her children. That reeked of a judge putting on show because she knew it was on TV.

The judge in Brooks' case was unbelievably patient. What was Brooks thinking acting like that? That he would be so intimidating or so loud that everyone would just say "oh, man, just get out of here a free man, just so we don't have to deal with such a "tough" grown-up" or what was his logic??

Judge Elizabeth Scherer from Parkland shooter trial speaks publicly for first time since resigning after controversial case. January 8th 2024. CBS MIAMI This is what she had to say to CBS MIAMI: "To try to threaten my children and bring up my children is inappropriate," Scherer said. "So I'm very protective of my daughter and looking back, I, I may have overreacted. In other words, maybe that's not what the attorney meant, but I don't feel it's ever, ever appropriate to look at a judge and say, 'Well, if this was your kid.' I mean that is just so far out of line that I will tell you he found the right button to push." Scherer admits to overreacting during that one exchange. "I try to maintain a level of, you know, calmness and take a deep breath when somebody's trying to sort of bait me (by) bringing up my daughter," she said. "You know I did lose my temper, and just to put it in context, although I don't know that that's what was meant by it." But with time has come perspective. "But long story short, do I think that's what he meant?" she said. "Probably not. Do I think that he was inappropriate? Absolutely!

Ok, say what you want about that POS’s defense team, the bizarre way they acted, and the the disrespectful attitude they held towards the prosecution and even some of the families of the victims at times, but when he simply said “Judge, i think if they had brought YOUR children into this, you might have remembered..” For the judge to then FREAK out, and act like he just “threatened” her children, is INCREDIBLE. She wouldnt even TOLERATE the very mentioning of the phrase “your children” in reference to herself, but when its aimed at the defense attorney, she doesnt say JACK S, doesn’t care, it didn’t matter AT ALL to her. That whole interaction makes her look VERY biased if you’re able to watch it with an unbiased eye yourself. In NO WAY did he “threaten her children” as she tried to imply while she was shaming him. Thats one of the MOST hypocritical moments I’ve ever seen from a judge…

The Florida Supreme Court publicly reprimanded the first judge (Elizabeth Scherer) who oversaw the penalty trial of Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz for showing bias toward the prosecution. The unanimous decision followed a recommendation from the Judicial Qualifications Commission. The 15-member commission found that Scherer “unduly chastised” lead public defender Melisa McNeill and her team, wrongly accused one Cruz attorney of threatening her child, and improperly embraced members of the prosecution in the courtroom after the trial’s conclusion. The judge resigned effective June 2023.

You have to site the law and not your angry feelings. It’s great that she quit for all ! Just the fact that she quit , tells you how unstable and emotional she is. She needs to see a therapist in all respect. Reach out for medical attention, take anger management and stay away from arguments during your period.

Darrell Brooks did EVERYTHING in his power to derail his trial. He is a raging narc that has gotten away with so much before and wanted to cause a mistrial when things would not go his way. The judge showed brilliant control of her court room and did not give Brooks any more than he was legally entitled to. She showed major class when she called out the name of every victim, giving the time to the moment when she read the verdict for that victim. It was for the family, friends and society as a whole to give respect and dignity back to the MANY victims of this mad man.
@grayk3803 Жыл бұрын
No. She was lenient for a reason. If she had been harsh, he could have used it against her by appealing the trial citing that she was biased against him from the start. She took away his opportunity to do that by showing incredible patience and restraint. What she did was smart, not soft
