I feel like Generative Fill has been downgraded? I have been using it for small areas, 500x500px areas or less, and I can't remember it being as low resolution. It's really blurred and I think it's worse than it was. Anyone else?

Great video! I'm kinda irked that they are charging credits for the Generative Fill feature when they still have the 1024px cap on the results. I shoot in medium format and my 100MP pics are too high-res for that feature to be useful. There's a trick to get around it by only doing fill 1024px at a time, but with tokens, I'll burn through all of them with only a few photos! Love this feature...just wish I could use it! :(

Just be aware that parametric filters, even set to Ultra, have a limited resolution (as far as I know 4096x4096px) and then get upsampled to the resolution of the actual image.

an easy action would've been: duplicate layer twice. for one of the copy, deactivate channels green and blue. for the other copy, deactivate green and red channels. move one layer to the right a little and the other layer to the left :)

I wish there was settings for this bar to turn on or off the features of Contextual Task Bar. Plus it hogs up desk space. All you can do is Hide or unhide or pin it somewhere. Also I wish I could turn off the big blue share button in the top right.

From what I've been seeing I'm pretty impressed with generative fill in general. However, it seems like Adobe (and pretty much every AI generator I've tried) does a terrible job with hands. Do you have any tips for fixing hands created with generative fill or how to get it to generate realistic hands?

When I uninstalled beta and upgraded to PS 25.0, LR didn't recognize I had PS, as I wanted to change something in the preferences. I had to reinstall beta for LR to even recognize I had the 25.0 version. And, LR still won't open files into PS for me! I'm a little afraid to uninstall and install LR, after the PS debacle😁. I may have to anyway, if the newest LR update doesn't fix that bug. Thankfully, ACR works very well for me in the mean time!

Hey so im new to Adobe, so i still figuring out the "Systems" of it all I noticed with you and many others y'all have like 4 or 5 copies of each app installed of older versions and even the most up to date and a few others even have the Beta ones installed Is there a reason to have 5 to 8 different photoshops installed at the same time or are you all doing this becuase you use them to create content and its not related to none youtube related things? Now remove tool is much better . Also you can select the area / object which you want to remove with lasso tool and paint with remove tool brush.

Have you faced the wrong sizes of the generated background? Im doing product photos for website. I have an object that is around half meter diameter, its a roll of a garden hose. I remove background and ask photoshop to put it on standing on grass. And photoshop creates close-up background and eventually it looks like a macro shot. And my half meter diameter roll of a garden hose looks like 10 centimeters. Any advice to specify size of generated background?

For a hobbyist that is still on CS5.5 and wholly opposed to the cloud subscription model, I have never seen anything in the newer photoshops that has made me think a subscription was worth it. About 98% of my workflow needs were covered in a pay once product. Cloud subscription may make life easier, but I just didn't need all the features. For pros it seemed to make a lot more sense, who might need the latest and greatest features. Finally, adding the generative fill with prompts seems to make some sense to pay monthly for, since there is an actual real service being offered. I'm curious how much usage those credits get you, or how slow the generative fill goes after spending the credits.

I'm a hobbyist too and agree with a lot of what you're saying but I did go ahead with the subscription a couple years after it started. Why? for the updates, but I won't say it's been all roses. In fact, PS and I now have a love/hate relationship. Still love to use the program but I hate how Adobe ignores function/stability bugs just to push more and more "flashy toys". Some things have been broken for years (zoom and now the transform tools) yet they never get any attention. I have played with Generative Fill and for me it is useless. Results have been very poor and nothing like the clean results shown above. So, I'll not have to worry about "credits". The Remove Tool isn't too much better I'm afraid. (yes, I have watched and followed tutorials and it still comes out badly). Thankfully other tools still work to get the results I need for my digital art workflow. I am interested in those new filters, however. Trust me I have been thinking harder and harder about going to an alternative program and have tried many. But comfort, along with not wanting to lose all the assets I've made over the last 15 years has stopped me.

I have to say, tools like procreate on the iPad, work extremely well for the drawing side of things and it was a one time purchase of around 10$ or something and it automatically does screen recording time lapse. I'd gladly pay for a newer tool that is competitive for a one time fee.

AI generative sucks. Let me tell you I works one time on this one photo. Then I tried to replicate it in another photo, the results were unreplicable. I spend more time waiting generative filters to work, I spend half the time doing the work myself. It's ridicule you need to pay even if you can run the filter locally.

I inherited my daughter's gaming laptop (an Alienware). She took a drive out when she gave it to me, so my C drive just barely held LR and PS, so she added a 1T D drive, and on top of that, she added another 1T of memory. Glad she still lives in town!! For a while, I was putting my unedited files on an external drive to access, but the ports are getting loose, so I don't like plugging and unplugging that drive. Now, I can just use the D drive for storage, and occasionally move edited folders when I have a handful to "archive" on the ext drive!
