I attended the show at Roxy and I have to say compared to last year the show itself was a massive improvement, nothing but respect for the ESCZ team :) The head of the media came on stage before the show to hype the crowd and sang some eurovision bangers with the crowd. Honestly would prefer him as the commentator of the night ❤ Really good vibes from the crowd as well, although watching it back on the screen it might not seem so pronounced. Although I am a big fan of Lenny, my favourite of the night was definitely Mydy. They had the whole package for me - great stage presence, chemistry with the crowd and a fun concept. She sounded great live and the song is quirky and catchy. Definitely the most original and memorable of the night, and I think it has great potential for further development of a stage show.

I already liked Mydy's song beforehand and listened to it a couple times this week. After the performance they only rose in my rankings, they absolutely killed it! Felt like a really experienced band who knows how to perform live, and the song is decent. Other than that, I also really liked Aiko, even though I think it was hurt a bit by the audio setup. I do not know if they could fix that on the eurovision stage tho tbh. But that would be my second choice.

1. Mydy - Catchy song, good voice, well put together, has an identity, striking visuals. I think it's the best package from the performances. A clear standout to me from everyone else. 2. Elly- Also a good voice and I liked the build of the song. Catchy chorus and good beat. 3. Aiko- I like this genre of music and although it was a bit messy, I think it could have potential with some more money and time. 4. Lenny- I like her voice, but the song was somewhat weak to me. To me it felt like a filler song on an album, personal message aside. I don't think this would stand out at all in the way other very personal songs do. 5. Tom Sean- Could also get better with more time and money, but this seemed to lack experience and I found his persona a little arrogant and off-putting. 6. Tomas Robin- I didn't understand a lot of what he was saying and I didn't much like his stage presence. Song felt weak to me. Recorded he sounds a bit like Lewis Capaldi, didn't get that in the live. 7. Gianna Lei- She looked incredibly lost and at times robotic on stage. She seemed very sweet in her interview but she had no presence on stage and her voice suffered a bit as well. The song was also repetitive and uninteresting unfortunately.

my top 7 7. Aiko- she opened the show and went wild, i think that even tho the vibe was good at the beginning but then she went a little over the line with the screams and shouting and i think it will take her to the bottom. 6. Gianna lei-Gianna looked so stressed and uncomfortable that i felt really sad for her bc by looking at her you could tell that shes just terrified 5. Tomas Robin- i think it just wasnt my genre of music and i couldn’t see anything memorable in it 4. Tom Sean- it was good, just good. I can see why people would vote for him but for me, something was missing 3.Elly-Her vocals were a bit off but she still DELIVERED and i can see her winning. she was great and i really liked the staging 2.Lenny-Really emotional and lovely song, the climat was spot on and everythin in it was just great 1.MYDY-I love the energy on the stage and the fact that its really original and diffrent. The Chorus got stuck in my head and its my favorite of the night, i voted for them from 3 devices and im rooting for them to get the malmö ticket

I really enjoyed the ESCZ, Czechs seem to always send some really cool. (Vesna bounced around my top 10 for all of 2023) I could honestly see any of these going and getting a great upgrade from the Czech Team with staging. But I personally lean towards Red Flag Parade, it is the one stuck in my head. 😅 Also agreed, that host was AWKWARD 🤣

I have the same top 3 but in a different order. Also Tomas' song kinda sounds like Latvia 2016, which is an absolute compliment from me. I'm learning to give Czechia the benefit of the doubt. Atm, none of them scream "winner" but I think most of these songs could do decently if staging is elevated and other things are cleaned up.

Mydy is the best 100%. I actually paused the livestream to go back and listen again. The song is awesome and full of energy, which all the other songs lacked. I hope they win.

My top its 1- Elly-The Angel's share Opposite about what people said, i feel this song can serve us something powerful and dramatic if its chosen for Malmö, she has the song, she has the vocals, she just needs a powerful performance with lights and visuals, take for referance Sweeden 2014 (Sanna Nielsen-Undo) to what i would like to see for performance 2- Mydy- The red flag Parade Actually its good, they had the experince for big shows, but the only problem to me its the song themselve its a bit repetitive to me, and it doesnt have this Climax when the show can Explode, if its chosen it defently need a revamp 3- Tomas Rodin (😂)- Out of my mind I love it, he has a great voice, but tbh, i dont think his song can Bright enough in ESC

I really agree with your point about Elly. The Czech team is really good at elevating a song with powerful staging. I loved Vesna last year, but i lost it when I saw the staging. It was so cool. I will say, MYDY is the one stuck in my head though. 🤣

I liked MYDY, Tom Sean, Lenny, Elly, Tomas, Aiko and Gianna Lei. I actually liked all the songs but MYDY is so unique and Tom Sean has something engaging too.

I absolutley loved Lenny's song! Elly very close second. I really liked MYDY but it gave me "too much" Måneskin vibes in the chorus, when it hit I instantly thought "Wait... I've heard this before..." If not for that they'd be second for me.

As it is, Tomas Robin is definitely the safest choice, if the jury is made up of as many radio people as it usually is, he’s got a real good chance of doing well. Meanwhile I feel like the best result might come from Elly if she changes a few things with the latter half of her song.

I'm not any kind of audio expert but the overall sound quality seemed to be really poor. I think that every song lost a lot of its real potential because of that, unfortunately. I predict that Mydy will win, they had the most standout performance and a great song as well. My personal, initial favourite is probably Lenny but I feel that some other songs can grow on me yet. Any of the entries didn't get me right away. I actually started to like My Sister's Crown more now 🙂. And yes, that host though 😅. I actually think he didn't feel himself too confident in his role and maybe tried to compensate it with kind of overly "cool" attitude.

I think Czechia's best options for the ESC are: 1. LENNY, if she gives the song a little more punch and improves some slightly off-key notes. 2. Tomas ROBIN or ELLY, both improving the interpretation and the staging. 3. MYDY, the best staging and performance, but a melody with an escarce hook, IMO.

My favourite, surprisingly, is MYDY..I think it has the most potential. I vaguely hear some Marina Diamandis-esque stylistics in the song and I love her so if they tweek the production a bit to make it sound fuller (if that makes sense) then I put my money on them. Just please don't sing the 'beep beep' part 😊 2nd favourite is Tomas Robin, the song is quite safe but pleasant and I like his voice and he performed it well considering the poor sound. There isn't a contender for the win in here anywhere however, I agree with you on that.

This is going to be a difficult decision. Last year Vesna had a weak national performance that was improved to okayish in ESC supported with a fantastic song, a beautiful staging and a lot of pre recorded backing vocals. This year we don't have that kind of song quality. Elly and Lenny looked the most competent but I see it with similar fate or worse than Georgia and Latvia last year. Aiko is my favourite studio version song but I hated the screaming live, this is an absolute no go. MYDy is the song that has higher chance of qualifying for the final but it will be bottom 5, the song is going to be hated by juris. The starlet song should have not been in the selection. The other two boys are the ones that can have a great glow up with staging but I'm not really sure about their vocals or stage presence plus their songs are a bit mid table, not excellent as My sister's crown was.

I’m conflicted between Tomas and Elly they are both great. I love Tomas and also Elly for different reasons. I have to sleep 1-2 till I can decide how gets my final vote but definitely one of the two.

I watched the show here on KZbin and was disappointed. Every artist was out of tune. I don’t blame them since it was all of them. The sound system must have been ineffective in allowing the singers to hear themselves. I would like to hear the studio versions.

Thank you for pointing out how bad the host is.. And sorry everyone for having to endure this.. 🙈 You hit the nail on the head there... He's a son of a famous Czech musician whose songs were banned during the communist era. And he used to live in the US I guess, so he has the "accent". I don't know, maybe nobody else wants to do this... And unfortunately neither do any of the musicians this year it seems.. Quite disappointing tbh..

Honestly I absolutely love him as a host😅 Yeah he is like the most awkward person and he looks and sounds like he’s high and drunk at the same time, but he gives off so much ‘couldn’t give a f*ck’ attitude and I absolutely love that for some reason, and if anything his drunk and high vibes just enhance it ten times more. If Eurovision ever comes to Czechia, I need this guy to host it😂 I’m also not that good at reading people, so if I’m the only person who feels this way I would not be surprised😁
