This doesn't tell you much about the new characters, but Bishop Heahmund seems interesting, and I'm glad there's going to be new female characters, now that Helga and Aslaug are dead and Lagertha's been turned into a middle-aged Xena, Warrior Princess. She's really rather boring now, and her "partner" is skinny and ugly and can't do a credible fight scene to save her life...and really, Vikings is all about the mayhem and bloodshed, so they should leave that tender emotional "we're women, let's all bond together" crap to Orange Is The New Black!

Many of the warrior bodies found outside Byzantium in the Viking attack on the city were female warriors. So let's not deny that women warriors were a major force with Vikings, as well as Celtic tribes. Just historical reality (Tacitus and Dio Cassius both reported the Roman legions were terrified of them. They had to be forced to fight them!)

@Anurag Dixit it's true, though...Vikings went from a vaguely historical drama with some good looking men to a soap opera focused on Lagertha and her pussy posse and skipped over Bjorn's career in the Mediterranean. Speaking as a heterosexual woman with an interest in both Norse and Mediterranean culture and history I was looking forward to seeing Bjorn rampaging around Italy!
